BIGGEST Banh Mi You’ve EVER Seen! EPIC Vietnamese Bánh Mì Street Food Tour in Saigon HCMC, Vietnam

What’s up everyone I’m Chris. We got Steph behind the camera, and today
we are trying something that we haven’t yet eaten here in the south of Vietnam, Banh Mi. The world famous Vietnamese sandwich
was first created here in Saigon. So, there’s no better place to go on an all out banh mi tour than
right here in Ho Chi Minh City. Today, we’re going to be trying a bunch of the different
and unique banh mi this city has to offer. We are super excited and stoked. So, let’s get our banh mi on. Come on. First banh mi of the day. It’s got to be at breakfast one. Hello. Hello. Hello. So, we have our first banh mi of the day, and this is Bánh Mì Trứng,
which is an egg banh mi. And, we’re so local and, it’s so cool just being here right on this street. This nice, sweet lady is just selling her
egg banh mi right on the side of the road.
And you can see that it’s busy. People are just coming
for their breakfast banh mi of egg banh mi, so. Ooh, look how it’s wrapped. I love it. So…. look at this. Fresh bread there. The banh mi. Ooh… so we got… a Banh Mi with paté, butter, cucumber, cilantro,
pickled onions and radish. All those classic banh mi toppings. As well as two fried eggs there, ooh. That smells so good. So hot and fresh. Made right here. So, the best way to start a banh mi tour
is with a breakfast egg banh mi. I love my eggs. So let’s take a nice bite of this. Mmm. That egg is so fresh, ooh. First bite and banh mi today. And ooh, that was the best bite. Just such a nice fried egg. Perfectly fried. So yolky and creamy. But those veggies add a nice crunch. So buttery with that creamy paté as well. That pork liver paté just adds that little bit of meatiness
and just fattiness to the banh mi. Mmm. And the bread, nice and crispy on the top but so soft on the inside That’s a big banh mi! It’s actually pretty huge. Despite this banh mi
not having any meat in it, the two eggs actually add a nice amount
of protein, so it actually is quite filling. And again,
just so fresh and hot, and super affordable. It’s only 15,000 dong for this banh mi. So I think this might be one of the cheapest
banh mi we find today. Mmm. And quite possibly one of the tastiest. Delicious! Delicious. Thank you. So good. Thank you. See you again. She’s so sweet. Ooh, this is the perfect way
to start our banh mi tour. Mmm. Let’s go find some more. Alright, this next banh mi is a very special one.
Starting in 1958, They are recognized as being one of,
if not the first place to sell the modern banh mi
here in Ho Chi Minh City. This is going to be so tasty. Here we have our Bánh Mì Chảo,
and this looks and smells incredible. So good. Now, you can see what makes
this one different is it’s actually served with all the inside ingredients
in like, a breakfast skillet. And we have a on of stuff in here. What do we have? Look at that. We have two sunny side
up eggs on the bottom there. Oh, gosh. On this…
Oh, man. Super hot skillet. We have Chả lụa, that Vietnamese bologna sausage. We have onions. Other pieces of ham. Spring onions. So it’s just like… All kinds of meat
that you would find inside a banh mi. But, on this hot breakfast skillet
that they fired up in there. Looks so good. And we’ve also got our nice big
chunk of bread here, which is a half a loaf That’s huge. We also have some butter
and paté on the side here. And the fresh veggies. So literally, it’s just everything you would
have in a banh mi. You get on your table. Deconstructed, deconstructed pretty much. So you can eat it however you want. And we have a Cà phê sữa đá as well,
a nice milk coffee. Yeah, that looks really good and strong. Breakfast two. Yeah. Yes, breakfast two. And I have to say, I’m just like,
getting ahead of myself here, because the first thing I want to do
is dip into this nice runny yolk. Yeah, yeah, yeah, go for it.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Let’s get some of this nice… Fresh bread, look at that. Ooh, that looks crusty. Oh, shoot. Okay, let’s get a nice dip of this. Okay. Yeah, go for it. Ooh, look at this yolk! Ooh, so fresh, ooh… and runny. Oh, my gosh. It’s so orange, too. So orange. So rich. Just look at that. Oh, my gosh. That yolk looks incredible. Insane. I also want to try it, with the nice… Vietnamese sausage there. Look at that. So nice and runny.
Ooh. Ooh, that looks good. And the bread is so crusty. Yeah it is. Oh, and soft on the inside too. Should I, should I go for it? Yeah. No, go for it. Go for it. I’m just going to make myself a bite. Because again,
you can just eat this however you like. And I’m going to make
myself a little bun. Me here. Mmm. That sausage there…. So nice. Savoury and salty. Mmm. It’s good? So good. And with the egg yolk,
just super rich, ooh. I was going to say, look at all of this paté
and butter that you get. Ooh. With your banh mi.
Ooh. Ooh, that looks so good. Okay. You should probably dip into that. Yeah, shoot. Maybe I should… just get a little dip. Ooh. Because, like, I feel like the butter and
the paté is really what makes a banh mi. Like, obviously there’s everything to it,
but the butter in the paté, just like… It’s just that extra little something,
you know? Definitely. You definitely need those key
ingredients for a banh mi. I’m going to take this nice… Big piece of that Vietnamese bologna sausage. And I gotta get myself
some of this egg here. Oh, there we go. Some egg with that ham
and those grilled onions on that skillet there. This, is an ultimate… Bánh Mì Chảo bite here. That looks really, really good. Ooh, look at that. A constructed Bánh Mì sandwich here. All right. Cheers to that. Yeah, go for that. Mmm. Verdict? So good, right? That bread is ultra crispy and crunchy. That is so delicious and yummy. But, oh man, the inside of this skillet,
that egg is so creamy and runny too still. Just adds
that creaminess to the banh mi. But that meat, so meaty. Yeah, it’s really good. The best part is definitely that pate
and that butter though. Ooh, it just so fatty tasting, again. So delicious. And I feel like, the great thing about banh mi is it’s
always such delicious, simple ingredients. Like, there’s nothing too crazy about it,
but there’s just such a balance of like, flavours and textures,
and everything like that. Like it’s just… I don’t know. it’s
like the ultimate sandwich for sure. Yeah. It’s like the ultimate sandwich, for sure. And those grilled up onions and the green
onions there, it just tastes like grilled meat. Yeah. Is how this skillet smells and tastes. Mmm. Mmm hmm. As I was saying earlier, this place is known to be
one of the inventors of the modern banh mi. Before the 1950’s, this type of sandwich was really only eaten
by the wealthy French colonials. But after they left the country,
the Vietnamese and especially Mr. and Mrs. Le here at this restaurant, took all those expensive, fresh ingredients,
and turned it into their own. Taking the big baguettes,
making them smaller, like this one here. Using fresh local ingredients,
kind of changing it to the local palette. And it turned into something that was super affordable for the locals,
and not just something for the wealthy. And I mean, now, banh mi is so well known,
like, you get it all over the world. It’s so tasty. Like, the banh mi we get in
Canada is delicious. But I mean, it’s
nothing like the banh mi that you get here. No, not like this. No. Freshly cooked on a skillet, ooh. It doesn’t get
much better than this, so…. So delicious. Banh mi with a history. Is some good banh mi. Mmm hmm. Okay, we are leaving breakfast behind
and we are now going for a lunch banh mi. And this next banh mi shop is renowned
for having some monster sized banh mi. And look at this lineup. That line up is so long. But oh man,
this place is so popular and famous. So, we are here at Bánh mì Huỳnh Hoa for their… Again, monster sized banh mi. Now, it may look like normal. Just like, here like this. But… It’s what’s on the inside that counts. And just look how much is in there. It is filled to like, the absolute brim. Just packed. Like, they were slathering
and slapping in so much paté and butter. Like, the amount of paté in there. Just look at that, like… It’s like, oozing out. You can just see it glistening as well. Like, the paté, the butter. So, there’s five different types of the Cha lua,
the Vietnamese sausage in there. Barbecue pork, that slab of paté and butter, the crispy bread
that’s just being heated up perfectly. And… I was gonna say,
and it’s all meat that we’ve got here. But don’t worry. We got some veggies. Yeah, I think they give
you the veggies on the side, in case you want them. A lot of people are taking them to go, so I think it keeps them separate so it doesn’t
get the bread all soggy and weird. Okay.
So, we do some veggies to balance it out. This is like insane, how filled this is. Oh, my gosh. Again, this place has been around
for 35 years, since 1989. A good year. Ooh… all right. I’m going to keep a bit of mine to wrap it after. I can’t believe just… Oh my gosh, look at this,
this is insane. Like, the size of this.
Like, this is definitely a two person banh mi. Okay, before I ruin it by putting veggies
in it, unfortunately, I’m gonna try it. Just get a straight up bite. Yeah, let’s just get a bite, okay. Huge banh mi cheers. My bite was all pate. I was going to say, I just got 100% pate. Which tastes…. So good. Mmm. That pork liver paté. Oh, my gosh. It’s like, so fatty. It’s always so good here in Vietnam, the paté. It’s got a savouriness. A fattiness. But… Mmm. It’s super rich. Just a meat bite then, okay. Mmm. Mmm. That bread is so crusty. Mmm. So much meat. That’s insane. Mmm. Oh man, I have to say,
that is an incredibly meaty. It’s packed. Super flavourful. It is so packed and meaty. Just the perfect meaty banh mi. Like, there’s so much… Yeah. Look at this. Oh, my goodness. And look at that huge dollop of butter
there, ooh. Super buttery as well, but. Okay, I don’t know about you, but I feel
like I actually need some veggies in this. Look at that. I forgot there’s meat floss in there too. Yes, there is either pork or chicken floss. Meat, dried meat floss in there too. But, the bread is so crispy and crunchy, being
reheated in the oven just behind me here. And they are assembly line
making these massive banh mi. And he’s just like, slapping in that paté. Would you like some veggies? Yeah. Let’s build our veggie banh mi here. So we’ve got our cucumber,
which is essential to a banh mi, as well as, I just like to say, this is kind of
like a quintessential banh mi. On steroids though. Yeah, like, you’ve got your Vietnamese
meats, your paté, your butter. We’ve got the cucumber, we’ve
got our pickled daikon, as well as carrots. So, let’s get you some carrots in there as well. And then here we’ve got some cilantro
as well as green onion and regular onion. Which is a little bit extra because
usually you get cilantro for sure. Right. And then… let’s see here. Ooh, that is packed. All right. Now that go is a packed and filled banh mi. Now we have a complete banh mi. This is insane. This is probably, well, 100% by far the biggest one we’ve ever had. You know, I think just, like, ever. This is, like, insanely massive. And actually, for the price. I was gonna say. Still a good value for what you get. Even though you’re paying a lot more
than the average banh mi here in Vietnam or Ho Chi Minh City, the amount you get. This is definitely,
like a two person banh mi to share. Or I could eat this myself… Three, maybe four regular banh mi. Definitely, the amount of meat is
just out of this world. Maybe you could on not a massive
banh mi tour day. You could maybe eat this to yourself, but. We’ll see. We’ll see if I order another one. Okay.
Lat’s do this. Full banh mi bite. Mmm hmm. Mmm. Mmm. Oh, yeah. That tastes so good with the pickled radish,
the pickled daikon and the carrots. But, I have to say,
my bites are still like 90% pate. Yeah. There’s just so much paté in here. But, the veggie crunch definitely adds
that freshness that you need in a banh mi. So, definitely needed. I can see why some people probably
don’t use the veggies at all, because it just, it’s so meaty without it that
you really don’t need it. But, for a balanced banh mi,
it’s definitely nice. Yeah, yeah. Like we were saying, this is pretty
much like your typical banh mi ingredients. Super balanced, flavours are really good. There’s so many different types of that Vietnamese meat in this
that you really just can’t tell which one you’re biting into. But they’re all just so tasty
and just, like, salty goodness. Mmm, but I can really taste that barbecue pork. It has different flavour and texture,
it’s really nice. It’s just meaty heaven. And I can understand why it’s so busy. Like, this place has been around since 1989, you said. So it’s been around for like,
35 years, and…. It’s definitely a classic banh mi. It’s gotten a name for itself for having such massive, massive banh mi’s. Definitely a must visit when you’re here in Ho Chi Minh City
or if you’re on banh mi tour, like we are,
you have to pay this place to visit and try their ultra monster sized banh mi, wow. I think we might need a little walk
to the next place after this. Mmm hmm. This is tasty. Thank you. Okay, okay. Thank you. Delicious. Really good. These guys are so nice, ooh. Pumping out banh mi here. What an absolutely legendary
epic spot for Banh Mi. Oh, man. And despite
how big and filling that was, there is more banh mi
to be had on this tour. So, let’s keep going. Okay guys, our next banh mi is one that is super special to here in
Ho Chi Minh City. I’m really actually excited for this one. All right. We have our Ho Chi Minh special Banh Mi, this is Bánh Mi Phá Lấu Now, Phá Lấu is braised pork offal. So this is a pork offal banh mi
that is so popular here in Ho Chi Minh. So we have four different types of offal We have pig heart, ears, intestines
and the nose. So look at that. That looks really like, chewy, fatty. But just… ooh smells so good. Because what makes the Phá Lấu special is the braised stew
that the pork offal is stewed in. It is made with coconut milk, star anise. Lemongrass. So it’s just a very aromatic broth
and braise for all of this pork offal. And ooh, I can’t wait to try this
because, coconut milk? This is going to be good.
Ooh, and the bread. So nice and crispy. Okay, special banh mi here in Ho Chi Minh. Mmm Oh, man. That bread… Crispy. Mmm. That first bite,
I think, was all of the pig heart. It’s nice and chewy,
but also soft, almost like a liver. But, it actually kind of tastes meaty. Mmm. Ooh… okay. There’s some sort of chili going on here. I don’t know if it’s the braised sauce
or the raw chilies that he put in, but. My mouth and throat are on fire from this. But that sauce actually, is really tasty. It has a hint of like coconut milk,
that creaminess. But… It’s actually really, really tasty
with that five spice powder that I can really taste in there,
and that star anise. So just really flavourful. And just look… At that intestine. I just wanted to try it on its own. Mmm. Really chewy. Mmm. But really flavorful with that braised
sauce there. Okay. I think we got an ultimate bite
with all of that offal here. Mmm. Mmm. Mmm hmm. Okay. With a bite with all of the offal in that, it actually is so unique
because this banh mi is very chewy. The ears and the nose, there’s actually some chewy, chewy parts
to that pig. Also, the nice thing about Phá Lấu is that there’s
no smell or odour to the organs at all. So it’s pretty nice. It’s really tasty with the fresh veggies. Again, adds a nice freshness
and crunchiness, but. Let’s look, at this nice… Pig ear, I believe. Mmm. So chewy. But also a little bit meaty, too. Really unique banh mi. A definite must try, here in Ho Chi Minh. Delicious. Delicious. Ooh. This is special. Mmm.
Mmm hmm. Who doesn’t love delicious grilled meats? Put them in a banh mi…. Yes, please. Come on. Ooh, look at this meat! Here we have the next banh mi
on our tour today. And this one’s a little bit different because it’s actually made with grilled
marinated pork patties. And she is just grilling up a ton of them
there behind me, right over charcoal in such a traditional way. And honestly, the smells
coming off of that meat are just insane. Look at this guy. All right,
so we’ve got our little elastic band, our paper on it,
in the traditional banh mi way. And the reveal. Look at this guy. So we’ve got it packed with cucumber. Some of those pickled veggies. We’ve got cilantro in there,
a little bit of hot sauce. And ooh, look at these little pork
patties here. Ooh… these look so good. We’ve got a sauce on top. Mmm. Those smell really, really good. Oh my gosh this looks super, super tasty. I’m really excited for this one Okay. Mmm. Mmm hmm. Ooh, that bread… So crusty and crispy. Mmm. That pork patty is nice. Juicy, tender. You can see they’re super meaty. It’s savoury,
but it has a nice sweetness to it from the marinade. That is really, really tasty, ooh. Gotta get some of these veggies though. Mmm. Mmm, mmm hmm. With that cilantro there. Adds such a nice freshness to it. The patties are almost sticky
with whatever they’re marinated with. And it has such a nice flavour
from being grilled over the charcoal. Mmm. And that sauce that she puts on… Is really nice as well. Very savoury. Dark and rich. Like a very brown colour in there. You can see that. And all the veggies, again, just add such
a nice texture and fresh flavour to the banh mi. But what I love about trying
all these different banh mi, and especially something like this one, is
it just shows the versatility of them, how you can have so many different
ingredients, and just how dynamic the Vietnamese cuisine is,
that they can just put so many different things in so many different ingredients,
and just experiment with everything, and every single
one just tastes so good, ooh. Mmm. And this guy’s packed. With those little patties there. Look at that. Mmm. So good. The interesting thing about Banh Mi
is it’s a dish that’s totally dependent on the time of day,
in the morning you get your morning banh mi with egg, like we had this morning,
and then you have your afternoon. But in the evening, there are specific
banh mi’s that only come out at night. And that’s where we’re off to now, to find
one that just comes out in the evening. This is going to be good. Alright, we have got our very different Banh Mi Kebab. It’s a little bit loud around here, so we’re just going around the corner
to try it out. Thank you, thank you.
See you again. Let’s go. Alright, we have got our banh mi kebab. Look at this guy. Oh, my gosh. Okay,
so this one is super different and unique. And we’ve been seeing these, actually,
all over Vietnam since we’ve been here. And this is very different
because the last time we were here these weren’t anywhere. So you can really see the influence
of other cultures on the Vietnamese cuisine,
and how they’re just experimenting with different ingredients,
and different influences. So this is definitely a very fusion
type kebab. And by kebab, I mean banh mi. All right. It smells really good though. And, ooh, okay, let’s just do it. Mmm. Mmm. That meat has such a nice flavour. It’s a little peppery, and you can tell
it’s been marinated in a ton of spices, almost like a cumin kind of flavour. So you can definitely taste
that Middle Eastern flair to it. And that sauce on the inside there,
that white sauce, is like your typical, almost like a doner, garlicky, creamy sauce. It’s really nice. Mmm. I just love the contrast of textures between the soft, juicy meat
and those crunchy, fresh veggies. It looks like we’ve got cucumber
as well as tomato and onion, but there’s none of those pickled veggies that you get
in your typical Vietnamese banh mi. So it’s definitely a very different flavour
that you’re getting with this guy. Honestly, it just reminds me
as if you’re eating like, a Turkish kebab, but it’s stuffed inside of a banh mi. So it really shows you just how diverse
banh mi can be, and how there’s just such
a melding of cultures with this one. But honestly, it is seriously
packed with meat and it is so flavourful. I have to say, I really like this one. Very different,
and just honestly super, super tasty. Mmm. And saucy too. So good, mmm. Earlier today when we were at Huỳnh Hoa, that place
with the massive banh mi, we got chatting with a local in line and when we told him
we were on a banh mi tour, he suggested a place to us
that we just had to try that is apparently a Vietnamese favourite. So, we are going to take a little detour
from our scheduled banh mi tour to try this place out. Here we have our Đặc Biệt, our special banh mi. Super special. Yes. And like we said, coming in here,
this is apparently a local favourite. And… Just look at this guy. Stuffed again. Now this is very similar to Huỳnh Hoa’s banh mi that we had earlier today. But just, again, just so stuffed
with all of those ingredients. Four types of the Vietnamese ham. I was going to say, the meat looks
a little bit different. The chicken floss. The paté looks a lot darker
actually, than… Yeah. The other one. Yeah, it does. And apparently the chicken floss here,
they cook with onions. So it’s supposed to give it like, a bit of a
sweetness, as well as saltiness. It does actually smell sweet. Yeah, yeah. They were telling me it’s their signature ingredient here,
is the chicken floss. So…. Okay. And this place has been around
for over 40 years selling this banh mi. Not at this exact location, we were told, but yeah,
so much history again, selling this banh mi here. There’s a lot of banh mi places I feel like around Saigon that have been around for ages
just selling their banh mi. Thousands of banh mi. That’s why banh mi is like number one
here in Ho Chi Minh City. Just shows how much people love it. That these places can stick around for
so long, you know. Oh, man. Okay, Let’s just do a little bit of… Little peek inside. Look at that. So again,
we have butter, have that paté, that pork liver paté,
all of that delicious chicken floss. Oh, man, that looks so, so good. It’s filled with that chicken floss. And, I almost forgot. We have a whole pile of fresh veggies
here to go inside. So, do you want a bite first or? I want to bite this first. Okay, let’s go for a bite first. Banh mi bite. Banh mi cheers. Mmm. Mmm. Oh, wow. That paté definitely is really…. It’s like fatty tasting. Yeah, yeah,
it has definitely a different taste to it. It’s like meatier, almost, you know? It’s darker and meaty, yeah. And I have to say that chicken floss
actually has a really nice taste to it. It’s salty,
but with a hint of sweetness to it. Ooh, but it actually really kind of kicks
it up a notch. You can really taste that chicken floss
this time, mmm. Oh, my gosh. There’s so much in these things. Okay, I’m gonna put some veggies in. Because again, I feel like it’s
the responsible thing to do. True. Oh, and Char Siu, that roasted pork cucumber
that barbecue pork. Cucumber there… That barbecue pork. Look at that. Nice meat with that fat in there too. Oh, again,
just ultra meaty tasting with just all of that Vietnamese ham sausage. Just look at that paté there. It’s just like, globbed on again. Look at the size of this radish. It’s huge. Get some of that daikon in there. Ooh. Ooh, about chilies this time. That’s going to be spicy. All right. Let’s try it with the veggies. Mmm. It’s so big, I can like, barely get my mouth around. Ooh… okay. I got one of those chilies in my bite. Yeah, was it spicy? Kicks the banh mi up a notch. We haven’t had a spicy banh mi yet today. And, this is spicy now. You’re right. You’re right. That is actually pretty good
with that chili. It just adds that extra kick. Wow. I’d have to say the pickled
radish, cucumber, the green onions. Honestly just added such a nice healthy, crunchy, yeah. And the carrots. It’s spicy eh? Mmm hmm. With the addition of the chilies
into banh mi, it really changes that flavour profile. But the star
I think, has to be that chicken floss. Mmm, mmm hmm. Because it’s dry. But with the paté and the butter,
it makes it wet. Yeah it does. It just gives it like, a really chickeny,
meaty flavour. Ooh… this is so good. Another super yummy banh mi here in
Ho Chi Minh City. Yeah this is another win. Another win, for sure. And this place is actually called,
the English name, Madame Win, so. There you go. Double win. They have winning… banh mi. Mmm. Mmm hmm. I can’t wait to see what’s next. I love that chili in here. We have officially reached the end of
our Banh Mi tour today here in Ho Chi Minh City. And oh man, it has been an amazing day
tasting all sorts of banh mi. But, we have one last Banh Mi to try,
and we have seen this one advertised all over Vietnam
since we got here a few months ago. We have been dying to try this one,
so, let’s head inside and give it a taste. We are here at the world famous… KFC. To try their… Banh Mi burger. Look at this. Oh, man, I’m so excited to try this. We’ve actually been
wanting to try this for so long, but we wanted to wait
until our banh mi video to actually taste it
for the first time. Again, yeah, we’ve just been wanting to try this so, so bad. Okay. Because like,
how unique, like, a banh mi burger. I know it’s KFC.
But like, come on. That’s pretty cool. Okay, so… What do we got here? Here is our burger. Ooh, look at that. Okay. Nice. Let’s see what we got
underneath the hood here. Ooh… Got some lettuce. Looks like, yeah,
lettuce, chicken strips, maybe? Oh, it’s actually piping hot too. Different kind of chicken. And underneath the chicken. Oh, look at that. We have some cucumber and… Some carrot. Some carrots. So, like those traditional banh mi toppings. Oh, it’s actually really hot there. And oh, show them what’s underneath
the lettuce there. Lettuce. Looks like… Some sort of a sauce, yeah. It looks kind of like, almost like a Chili sauce… Ah, it smells kind of sweet, though,
so that’s going to be interesting. Yeah. The advertisement posters
made this look, like, incredible. So, that’s why we’ve been dying to try it. I hope it’s as good as it looks. Should we do it? Yeah, let’s do it, let’s do it. Okay. Mmm. Okay… Mmm hmm. That’s really fresh tasting, actually. It is because you have the… That cucumber. I was gonna say, with the cucumber
and the carrots. You don’t often get that. Oh, thank you. You don’t often get that on burgers,
I find, like the lettuce. Yes. But the cucumber and the carrots, no. Definitely not your pickled carrots
in a burger. No.
That is definitely different. Mmm. Okay. Mmm. Okay, so the sauce… Is like a little sour. Kind of. I’d say… Maybe that’s
kind of like, mimicking your pickled veggies. Yeah. It doesn’t actually have like, a banh mi sauce. There’s no pate, like your banh mi, but… No butter. No. It’s definitely missing the cilantro,
which I say is a good banh mi flavour. Mmm hmm. So, in terms of like your typical
banh mi flavour, I’d say… It’s just the cucumber
and the pickled carrot, so. But it does give that, kind of ban mi
flavour, I’d say. Yeah, I’d say especially
with the freshness of the veggies. The chicken is nice and fresh, and hot. I think I would like it a bit more
if it was crispy, if it was crispy chicken patty. That would amp it up for me
a little bit, mmm hmm. Take some of these carrots here. Mmm. Why, thank you. Give it that that banh mi flair. Mmm, mmm hmm We’ve definitely been beefing it up,
I think, for the last two months, and… I think my expectation was pretty high. Worth a try. Overall… I’d say we’ve had some better banh mi today. Yeah, I think you’re right on that one. But still good. Definitely worth tasting. Mmm hmm. It’s definitely cool, I’d say, that
KFC has such a local flavoured burger. That’s definitely
the most interesting part about it I think, I like that, I like that. This is a nice way to end our banh mi tour. Mmm hmm, mmm hmm. I think so.
Definitely a different banh mi. Yeah, for sure. The chicken though… Finger lickin’ good. It has been an incredible day eating Banh Mi
here in Ho Chi Minh City. Oh, my gosh, it is honestly been so awesome, and I feel like it’s really shown us,
and I hope you guys too, just diversity you can get with banh mi,
as well as, I feel like, the creativity of the Vietnamese people with their cuisine,
like, the options for what you can have within
your banh mi are just like, endless. It’s insane. So many. And banh mi is like, the ultimate iconic street
food here in Vietnam. You can find it all over the country,
at all hours of the day, just everywhere on the street. So, when you’re here in Ho Chi Minh City, and all around Vietnam,
you definitely have to try all the banh mi you can. Totally.
It’s one of our all time favourite Vietnamese foods, so. It’s our favourite. We love it so much. But… Favourite of today?
Favourite banh mi today? Okay, that is such a tough call. I feel like I really enjoyed the first one. The Bánh Mì Trứng. Which was really, really good
because it was so simple and delicious. And just so fresh
because she cooked it right there. Yeah, close second that massive
“Đặc Biệt” we had… Was really, really good. One of those huge ones with the pate. Definitely, I’d say, take the cake. They were so good. Yeah. Maybe the first place I really liked,
that one was really good. Just so much meat, so much pate,
you can’t go wrong with ultra meaty. I will never complain about a big size
Banh Mi. No. Never. Never. Ultimately, this has been an incredible banh mi tour today. Epic banh mi tour. I’m stuffed, I don’t know about you. I can go for one of those… big guys. Of course you could, of course you could. Thanks so much for watching everyone. We hope you enjoyed the video.

  1. Ồ! Hai bạn vẫn còn Việt Nam à? Tôi đã 50 tuổi mà vẫn chưa được thưởng thức hết những món ăn của nước mình. Chúc kênh của bạn luôn phát triển.

  2. Hương vị bánh mì Việt thật tuyệt vời,ngày xưa vào 1988 _1990 tôi sống nơi đông âu (CHDC Đ ỨC) ĂN tất cả các loại bánh mì trải chả,nhưng không hấp dẫn ngon như bánh mì VIỆT NAM.

  3. Banh Mi Huynh Hoa and Banh Mi Ba Huynh. They used to be one, their relationship fell apart and ended up breaking up, they now each have their own banh mi shops. Both similar and VERY delish!!! Great tour guys, love it!!!

  4. Wow guys, this video was awesome! I love banh mi, but I've never seen so many different kinds before!! Just the usual ones offered in the western world. So cool to see so many. They all looked so good, want to eat them all! HAHA, really sick video.

  5. Hai bạn đã thử nhiều loại bánh mì khác nhau , tuy nhiên hai bạn có thể thử “ bánh mì cá kho “ và “ bánh mì xíu mại “ và nhiều quá tôi không nhớ hết .

  6. Bánh mì, Phở , Hủ tiếu , Bánh cuốn bánh ướt , bún riêu , bún bò huế, bánh canh cua , ôi hàng hà sa số món ăn Việt Nam từ Nam ra Bắc cả đời người việt cũng không ăn hết món ăn của 3 miền đất nước Việt Nam 😂😂 chúc 2 bạn có những trải nghiệm tuyệt vời tại đất nước Việt Nam chúng tôi

  7. Banh mi is always my choice when going on any flight. People would be chewing their peanuts, pretzels, or school lunch meal in their seat, while I'm eating my combination banh mi on all flights that I've taken.

  8. Holy hell that was a lot of pate! Banh mi, I've gotta say is probably the best and most versatile sandwich in the world. I can eat one every meal, and some days I do 😂
You can't beat a classic assorted banh mi though, the taste and flavor is unmatched. Amazing tour, I'll definitely have to hit up a few of those spots the next time I'm in Saigon, especially for one of those two big ones!
Where are you two off to next? Excited to watch, as always.

  9. love your video :3 – But you guy missing some special Banh My – Try some "Banh mì nướng muối ớt: (Drill spicy salty banh mi" – Bánh mì chả cá (Fish Banh Mi) – and Bánh mì hập (steam coconut Banh Mi :3

  10. 16:40 I was saying on another channel that I felt really sick after eating at Bánh Mì Huỳnh Hoa. Not in a food poisoning type way, but it was really rich. Seeing the amount of Pate and Mayo they put on, I can see why. I could only eat half. And I was stuffed until dinner. And no, I hadn't had breakfast. The coffee shop across the road did great coffee too.

  11. Is this your last Vietnam video? Come back soon; we await another of your journeys to Vietnam. Next time you come back, dive into more exotic cuisine and hot pot; you cannot miss the hot pot scene in Vietnam. Watch Mike Chen's Vietnam hot pot video to get an idea of what we have. Have fun, safe travel, and a happy tummy.

  12. In large shops, Vietnamese Banh Mi with such generous portions of meat only cost $2.80 each. How can street vendors survive on such meager profits?🥺
