PAA によるブルー・サムハイン || #matthewshaves

Hi, I’m Matthew. Welcome back to my channel. Today, we’re going to go ahead and have a shave real quick. I’m going to wet my face. [Music] Got uh three days worth of growth. Today’s shave soap is going to be Blue Sin by Phoenix Artisan accutrants. This is the CK1. Last year I had showed I was almost out and I thought I was going to run out by the end of the year, but I didn’t. But I did have to pick up the latest and greatest. This is the 2025 version. Maybe I should do the thumbnail here. So CK 6. And if you watched the video just prior to this, you know I already made the lather in the new shave bowl. If you didn’t see that video, click in the history and you will find it there. All right. Uh made some nice lather in this porcelain shave bowl using my stubby brush. And here’s the lather using this little I think it’s a 22 mm bore knot. I just love this scent. I feel like it’s a all year round scent and for me it’s in one of my top five. You have that nice kind of boozy pumpkin and a nice blend of sandalwood. And if you haven’t put your nose on it, shame on you. All right, here we go. Uh, now that I have soap all over my hands, going to clear that up here a little bit. Grab this towel. Today I’m going to be using a Dovo straight razor. And this is the carry, the 68. Very nice. I just ran it over the st. And I’m ready to shave. I got a sponge here that I’m going to wipe all the lather and stuff off with. Going to get it a little bit wet and get going with pass number one with the grain. Absolutely no problem mowing it down. One of my favorite things about a straight razor is it never ever ever gets gummed up or stopped up. Easy to rinse. And you guys know my big hands get in the way, so you can’t really see all that’s going on, but hey, that’s part of it. I just seen that Mal Bulge was released. Was it yesterday or today? Another great scent that I need to break out. I haven’t used that in a while. Let’s get lthered up for pass number two. I thought I got this pretty wet, but could have used a little bit more water to be honest. I kind of miss CK1 to be honest. I guess just because I’ve used it for so long. I don’t know. There’s just something to it I enjoy. And um I feel like CK6 is a little bit slicker. It’s a little bit easier to lather, but there’s something about that foaminess to it. It’s the CK1 is a little bit more thicker, I guess. Then you can no longer get it. I bet you guys don’t know where I’m going tomorrow. Oh man, another trip to the doctor’s office. The the bad thing is uh it’s like a two and a half hour drive to see the specialist and I think he’s really good. It’s just a shame that in my area we don’t have quality specialists. We have a um healthc care provider that has kind of made a big monopoly. Uh no secret SIH, Southern Illinois Healthcare. And I feel like they have really lost touch with uh patient care and more They are more concerned about the dollar. And it’s a shame because if it wasn’t for the patients, they would not have a business. And I feel like when you’ve lost that compassion and that will to help, you probably need to get out of that profession. And it really shows because they’ve got different things going on and they’ve kind of openly said it, you know, about uh trying to take advantage of the area with uh buying up some of the other clinics and specialties like the uh labor and delivery. and OB and the breast cancer and all that stuff. And when you shove out other businesses like that and then your quality of care goes down, it’s like what what’s the point in that other than the money grab. Okay, I’m going to get uh cleaned up with some cold water and be right back. What a nice shave. I may have not gotten all of it, but I got the majority. And that’s the main thing. I want to knock it down. Yeah. Sorry to get off on the the medical topic. Uh I have a little bit of a bad taste in my mouth from them because part of my issue is uh when I had went to them originally, some of the uh neglect was on their part and it delayed my uh overall stuff. Okay. Anyway, that’s the shave for the day. I’ll put a picture right here of everything I used and I will see you guys on the next Shay video. You have a great rest of your weekend. [Music]

Scent Profile: Sandalwood, Burnt Sugar, Bourbon and Pumpkin, Oak Barrel Aged.

There’s something about fall, isn’t there? The way the air changes, crisp and sharp, like it’s been waiting all summer to remind you that things are about to get darker. And that’s when it creeps in. Blue Samhain. It’s back, folks, and this time, it’s better than ever. A scent that doesn’t just feel like fall–it is fall, bottled up and waiting to crack open that door between the world of the living and the world of…well, whatever’s out there.

You know the smell of sandalwood, don’t you? Smooth, earthy, like the wood of an old cabin where the walls creak at night. Add to that burnt sugar–sweet but with a bitter edge, like caramel left just a little too long on the fire. Now throw in bourbon, rich and boozy, warming your bones from the inside out. And yeah, a hint of pumpkin. But let’s get this straight: this isn’t your grandma’s pumpkin pie. No cinnamon spice nonsense. This is pure October, freshly carved jack-o’-lanterns with their insides scraped out and left to grin in the dark.

Now, last year–well, you know how these things go–I had this bright idea. Barrel-aging. The scent wasn’t just mixed and bottled. No, I wanted more. I wanted those ghost notes you only get from letting it sit in oak, letting the wood whisper its secrets into the blend. So, past me set this plan in motion, and present me? Well, present me is pretty damned pleased with how it turned out. Blue Samhain is richer, deeper, with that cask-aged magic you can’t fake. And “ghost notes”? Yeah, that’s what this scent needed all along. What’s more fitting for Samhain than the faint echoes of something…else?

What’s in the Blue Samhain Collection? Oh, we didn’t hold back. You’ve got the Ultra Premium CK-6 Artisan Shave Soap, the Blue Samhain CUBE, Aftershave/Cologne (mentholated or not, depending on how you like it), Star Jelly Aftershave, Solid Cologne, Eau De Parfum, Body Soap, Shampoo Puck, Beard Balm, Preshave/Beard Oil, a Vent Scent Car Air Freshener–you name it. And yeah, there’s merch, because why wouldn’t there be?

Now, for you history buffs, the name Samhain–it’s an old one. Real old. Back when the Irish split the year in half: summer on one side, winter on the other. Samhain? It’s where they met. The doorway into winter, and the night before–October 31st–is when things got really interesting. The Celts believed that on Samhain Eve, the veil between our world and the Otherworld got thin. Real thin. Thin enough for things to come through–fairies, spirits, the dead. Not everyone was brave enough to step outside on a night like that. You never knew who–or what–you might meet out there.

So here it is. Blue Samhain. A scent that doesn’t just remind you of fall, but grips you by the throat and makes you remember. You’ll keep using it long after the last leaves have fallen, long after the jack-o’-lanterns have rotted and the cold has settled in. Some things linger. Some things stay with you. And Blue Samhain? It’s one of them. “Try Something Different This Fall, Phoenix Shaving!”
