But instead of the traditional overnight soak, I’ll show you how to whip up a similar version in just one hour. I’ll also introduce a simple recipe using leftover daikon peel. The ingredients are easy to find and very simple to make. There are some points of interest here and there, so please enjoy it all the way to the end. Please have a look at it. Easy recipes at home Let’s start by introducing today’s ingredients. Here are the ingredients. Daikon radish, daikon leaves, salt, sugar, kelp tea, white sesame seeds, chili peppers, this time I will use these ingredients. First of all, daikon radish will be about 500g in this state. Please use this as a guide. I would suggest that you prepare approximately 500g to 600g. And radish leaves. Usually when it is sold in supermarkets, I think it is quite often cut off from this part. If you don’t have any leaves, please ask the supermarket staff if they have any leaves. And seasoning, but this time I will add a little kelp tea to make it. Can also use kombu dashi stock here. I would like to make this as soon as possible. Easy recipes at home Now let’s start making them. First of all, let’s peel the daikon radish. This time I will peel it thinly with a peeler. I will use the peelings of these daikon radishes later in the arranged recipe, so please leave them here as well. Then, cut this daikon into roughly 5 cm wide pieces. After cutting like this, let’s cut it roughly 5mm wide this time. Now cut again in the same way, vertically, with a width of 5 mm. Cut like this. Now cut the rest in the same way. Cut like this. Now cut the remaining daikon in the same way. Cut like this. Then put the radishes in a bowl. Then the leafy part of the daikon radish is cut off this root first. The root part is sometimes filled with soil, so please rinse the root part with water once you have done this. Then, cut this one in the same way with a width of about 5 mm. This is OK for the leaves. Then you can put this leaf part in the bowl. When you put them in the bowl like this, add the sugar here and the salt the rest of the time. Now rub it in well. Rubbing salt into the daikon will remove the water from the daikon and take away the gouge and pungency. The salt alone makes it too salty, so I add sugar to neutralize the salt. Blend the whole mixture well. Mix thoroughly until the sugar and salt are no longer tactile. OK. Then put the wrap on the surface. Put a plate on top. And then press down and put a plastic bottle or something on top of it to weigh it down. And leave it like this for an hour. Now while it is marinating, I will show you an arranged recipe using daikon peels. Here are the ingredients. Boiled potatoes, daikon radish peels, bacon, mayonnaise, soy sauce, kelp tea, sesame oil. First of all, prepare about 100 g of potatoes in a boiled state. Can use any variety you like. And then I want you to use bacon, but you can use ham for this one. I’ll use this to make a simple potato salad. I will make it as soon as possible. Easy recipes at home Now let’s make it. First, chop the peel of a daikon radish appropriately. Chop coarsely like this. Then cut the bacon into 1 cm pieces. Once cut, rotate and then cut in half Bacon is now ready to use. Now I will first fry these two in sesame oil. Now I will put sesame oil in a frying pan and then heat it up. Heat is on medium. Add bacon to the heat here. Then fry once until fragrant. Let’s fry the bacon while breaking it apart with chopsticks. Be careful not to burn yourself as the oil splashes a bit. When the bacon is fragrant, add the daikon peels. And let’s fry. Let the bacon flavor soak into the radish skin. Now fry for roughly 1 minute to 1 minute and 30 seconds, then turn off the heat. Stir-fry until the skin is slightly wilted. Then transfer this to another container and remove from heat. When the heat is removed from the bacon and radish peels that you just fried, now mash the potatoes. The potatoes are a little hard to mash when cold, so you can mash them as soon as they are done boiling. If you mash freshly boiled potatoes, please take off the heat after mashing the potatoes as well. Rough is fine. Mash the potatoes like this. Then I add here the peels of the daikon radish that has been taken off the heat and then the bacon. Then kombucha (kelp tea), soy sauce, and mayonnaise are added. Mix well. Now you have a simple potato salad. This is also very tasty, so please try making it together. Easy recipes at home One hour has passed. Weights are taken off. Then water comes out of the radish like this. Then once I do that, I squeeze this daikon firmly. Then I will squeeze it. Now squeeze hard. Then put it in a bowl. Squeeze the water out thoroughly like this. Now let’s finish up. First of all, chili pepper, cut this one in half and remove the seeds. Can remove this chili pepper if it is for children or if they do not like spicy food. Remove the seeds and cut into rounds like this. Can also use the rings that are already cut into rounds in the supermarket. Then let’s put them in the radishes. Then add kelp tea and white sesame seeds. And mix well.
