Fluffy Tofu & Hijiki Hamburg Steak Recipe | Nutritious & Healthy
This is a fluffy and juicy Japanese-style hamburg steak made with tofu and hijiki seaweed.
Hijiki is rich in iron and dietary fiber, while tofu is low-calorie and high-protein, making this a healthy dish.
The pumpkin side adds color and nutrition, perfect for bento lunches too!
【Ingredients (Serves 4)】
Firm tofu: 1 block (300g)
Ground mixed meat: 100g
Dried hijiki seaweed: 10g
A: 1 egg, 1 tsp sake, 1/3 tsp salt, a pinch of pepper
B: 2 tbsp ketchup, 1/2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
Sesame oil: 1 tbsp
Salt: a pinch
Pumpkin (for side): appropriate amount
1.Preparation
Boil hijiki in hot water for 2-3 minutes and drain well.
Wrap tofu in paper towels, place a weight on top, and drain for about 10 minutes.
Remove seeds and strings from pumpkin, cut into bite-sized pieces, wrap in plastic wrap, and microwave at 500W for 3 minutes 40 seconds (3 minutes for 600W).
2.Making the Patties
In a bowl, mix ground meat with A ingredients until sticky.
Add hijiki and mix, then add tofu and combine gently.
Divide into 4 portions and shape into hamburg steaks.
3.Cooking
Heat sesame oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Place patties and pumpkin in the pan.
Cook both sides for 4-5 minutes. Sprinkle salt on pumpkin.
4.Finishing
Plate the patties and pumpkin, then pour the mixed B sauce over. Serve.
