【臨月ママの作り置き】大根1本消費!大家族のおでん🍢|Use up a whole radish! Summer oden🍢

Five siblings who eat a lot. Hirari’s family meals. Hello. This is Touko’s mom. The countdown is finally over until the birth of our sixth child. I’m in my final month. I want to take it easy after the birth. I ‘m doing things now, like clerical work for the cooking salon I run and editing YouTube videos. I ‘m 37 weeks pregnant and the baby in my belly has already exceeded 2,600 grams. My stomach is getting heavier every day, and I sometimes sigh. My son’s friend gave me a nice summer radish. It was grown by his friend’s grandfather. I received two of these nice radishes. My children requested oden. In the summer, we tend to reach for cold foods, but sometimes we want to eat hot oden, and today we ‘re going to use a whole radish to make oden. I cut each one with a hidden knife so that the flavor can soak in. My children love radishes that are soaked in plenty of soup stock. When I receive a lot of radishes, I always make oden without hesitation. Boil the daikon radish in water. Boil thoroughly for about 30 minutes. It takes a little time, but this is the key to its deliciousness. It’s hard work knowing that the oden will be soaked in broth. While the daikon radish is being boiled, prepare the other ingredients. Fish paste, konjac, eggs, sausages, etc. If you add various ingredients, the oden will taste even better due to the synergistic effect. Drain the oil from fried foods first. I forgot to buy it today, but I always drain the oil from the standard ingredient, deep-fried tofu. Reuse hot water to save time. Let’s boil the eggs here too. Do you know why the grilled chikuwa in oden is so delicious? This grilled chikuwa is made with Alaska pollock and other fish that bring out the flavor. So grilled chikuwa goes great with oden and simmered dishes. Konjac soaked in oden broth is also delicious. I regret that I should have bought more. Chikuwabu is probably the No. 3 ingredient in oden that my kids love. When you put it in oden, it absorbs the broth and has a gooey texture on the outside and a chewy texture on the inside. A unique ingredient for summer oden. Corn. You may be surprised to see corn in oden, but corn boiled in broth also makes a delicious egg. I prepared two pots for oden. After all, the main character of today’s oden is that big radish. My kids love oden, so I always make a lot when I make it. Two large pots are the oden style in my house. The key to the deliciousness of oden is the broth. Make a combination broth of kelp and bonito. First, soak the kelp in water. Pack plenty of bonito flakes in a dashi pack to easily make broth. The dashi pack bags that I use are convenient because they can be purchased at supermarkets and 100-yen shops, but they spill… I spilled. I put in too much. It’s been about 30 minutes since I started boiling the radish. At this point, I’ll parboil the konnyaku as well. Boiled eggs soaked in dashi are really delicious. Summer radishes, a staple ingredient in our oden, are a little harder than winter radishes, so I parboiled them thoroughly. Now, let’s start making the dashi for the oden. A combination of kelp and bonito. Let’s start making the dashi. When you heat the combination of kelp and bonito dashi, a nice aroma rises up. Once you’ve taken out the dashi, it’s time to season it. Since you have delicious dashi from bonito and kelp, the seasoning is very simple. There’s only a little left… At times like this, there’s only a little soy sauce left. I’ll use half dark soy sauce and half light soy sauce. [Oden] 1000ml of soup stock (bonito and kelp), 50ml of soy sauce, 50ml of mirin, 1 teaspoon of salt . Add salt to adjust the flavor. All you have to do is simmer the ingredients in order, starting with the ones that are hard to cook. Normally , even when I put daikon radishes on the table, my kids don’t react well to them. But when they eat the daikon radishes that have been soaked in the oden broth, they all seem to eat them happily. It takes a lot of work, but it’s still nice to see them like that. Here comes konnyaku and eggs. Don’t forget the sausages that everyone loves . They are a very popular ingredient with children. When I make oden for dinner, I tend to lack protein, so I try to add meat. I ordered chicken wings from an online supermarket, but accidentally ordered chicken thighs , so today I’m using chicken thighs. When simmered together, the chicken flavor comes out and it turns out delicious. I often make chicken meatballs and add them. Homemade fish balls are one of the favorite ingredients for children. Kelp after making soup stock. This is also one of the ingredients. Tie it and make kelp rolls. Kelp after making soup stock is slippery and difficult to roll, so it is often a struggle. If you prepare it up to this point, all you have to do is simmer it. While it is simmering, I work. I wait for the children to come home while working. I simmered it for about an hour. As soon as I thought they came home, they started fighting… Please don’t fight. Finally, add the fish paste. Please don’t fight. The trick to making fish paste delicious is not to overcook it. I also add corn at this time. Today is oden. Eh? Oden. Radish. I put in a lot of radish. Yay. Summer oden is also delicious, but it takes 30 minutes to boil the radish and almost an hour to simmer.
