So this time I will introduce a simple side dish recipe using yams. I’m going to make a steak-like dish with only one ingredient, yams. The ingredients are easy to find and very simple to make. I hope you’ll have a great time. Please have a look at it. Easy recipes at home Let’s start by introducing today’s ingredients. Here are the ingredients. Yam, potato, potato starch, mentsuyu, salted butter, green laver, salt, water. Then I will use salad oil when baking. So this time I will use these ingredients. First, I will use roughly 200 g net yam. Then, I will use double concentrated mentsuyu. This mentsuyu is diluted with water. The degree of dilution and other details will be explained later. And the butter will be salted butter. So I will make it with these ingredients as soon as possible. Easy recipes at home Now let’s make it. First I will peel the yams. When you touch the yams, sometimes itching can be reduced by dipping your hands in vinegar water like this. So if you get itching, please try it once. But if you have allergies, it’s your own decision, so if you have a pretty allergic reaction, I’d suggest you wear gloves or something. And now going to peel the skin off. Be careful not to hurt your hands because it’s slippery. Peel them like this. And now going to cut it, and it’s very slippery if you touch it with your bare hands, so please hold the yam with a piece of kitchen paper like this and cut it. That way it’s less slippery. Now I will cut this one roughly 1cm wide. Just be careful not to slip and hurt your hand. OK. And then you’re going to need a plastic bag. And open the mouth of this plastic bag, and set it in the bowl. Going to put the cut yams in this. Once you’ve added the cut yams, add salt here. Lightly salt them. I’m going to season it a little bit. And then once we do that, going to take the air out of it and lightly tie the mouth. Then I put it in the refrigerator for 5 minutes Five minutes have passed. Then I open my mouth. Now it looks like this. Then we add potato starch here. And then blend it all together. Potato starch is OK if it blends in all over like this. Now I will dilute the mentsuyu with water. Now going to dilute this mentsuyu a little bit more than we want it to be. First, you add the mentsuyu, and then the water. The amount of water used depends on how much concentrated mentsuyu you use, so be sure to taste and adjust the amount of water. Taste once with this. OK. I will use 1.5 tablespoons of this noodle soup now diluted like this. This is the preparation for the noodle soup. Easy recipes at home Now I will bake it in a frying pan. First, put some salad oil on the pan. Roughly about 2 to 3 tablespoons. So that the whole pan is soaked like this. Put this much salad oil in the pan. Then put it on the fire. Heat the oil once over medium heat for roughly 30 seconds to 1 minute. Once the oil is warm, add the yams. Be careful not to burn yourself. Let’s turn the heat down a little bit to medium-low and put it in. Line it up like this. Then I’ll continue to bake it like this until it browns a little bit. By baking in a little more oil like this, the surface becomes crispy. Grill over medium to low-medium heat, adjusting the heat as you go. It’s been roughly 2 minutes now. If you see the underside and it’s browned, please turn it over. Bake one side the same way until browned. OK. One side is also baked now for roughly 2 minutes. Let’s cook it evenly on both sides, rolling it like this along the way. And if the surface is crispy like this, it’s OK. Turn off the heat once. And wipe off this excess oil. Be careful not to burn yourself. Wipe off the oil like this. The state of crispy finish. And then finally we add the butter and the mentsuyu. And then I put it on the fire and mix it. OK. Tangle it like this. Lastly, sprinkle aonori (green laver) here at the end. Sprinkled with green laver. Now I would like to put it on a plate. And here are some tips for baking. When you grill them, make sure you use a little bit more oil. This makes the surface crispy. I think it’s best if you bake it for about 2 minutes on each side. Then wipe off excess oil and finish by tossing with diluted mentsuyu (Japanese soup stock) and butter. And finally, sprinkle with the desired amount of aonori (green laver).
