シンコ・デ・マヨ

This week we are going to celebrate Cinco de [Music] Maya. I am so hungry. I think we should go eat some Mexican food now. Let’s go. [Music] Can I get a taco and a Mexican pizza? Guess what? We’re going to make taco Tuesday. Tacos and homemade tortillas. I cannot wait. [Music] [Music] Woo! Yeah! Sorry. [Music] This is my horata. [Music] Morta, we’re going to start with tortillas. Woo. So, here are the ingredients. Allpurpose flour, salted butter, bacon fat, and sea salt. Salted butter. Let’s put it all in. Okay. We do have the allpurpose flour. We are going to put what is this? Salt. Okay. And is this a bacon fat? Okay. Now, let’s add some warm water. Okay. Here we go. Half a cup of warm water. Let’s hope I don’t burn my hands. All right. Let’s do this, baby. Mix it up. This is what I call tortilla. I’ve never made tortilla before, but I’m so [Music] excited. So, we are going to make this in tiny little balls and then we’re going to let this rest for 10 [Music] minutes. I think I uh fold it and I don’t know. I think it’s something like this. There. There. Oh, there you go. Ah, leg. Okay, let’s see. My first tortilla I’ve ever made in my life. Oh my god. Look at that. Look at that. Look at that. Yes. That’s a win. This is oiled. This one is extra crispy. And I think my mistake is put oil every time. You know, it doesn’t hurt. It adds a little flavor. Shoot. Stop it. Get some help. Oh, there we go. How many fire alarms have we let loose within this episode? We’re good. We’re still alive. At least nothing burned down. Okay. All right. So, now it’s time to cook the beans. So, this is what you need. Beans, onion, cilantro, garlic, bay leaf, fresh thyme, cumin, black pepper, chicken bullion. We’re going to add the beans to the Instant Pot. Okay. We’re going to add one cup of water. We’re going to add chicken bullion. Let’s add that cumin. Well, that was the chicken bullion, lots of cumin, black pepper, and mix it well. Ooh, I hope this tastes good. Now, let’s add the bay leaves, the thyme, the yes, the the onions, the [Music] garlic. There we go. All right. So once everything is all nicely mixed up, we’re going to cook it for 40 minutes. This week we are celebrating Cinco de Chamayo. I know that I am super hungry, so I think let’s go grab some Mexican food and celebrate Cinco. Come on with me. Oh wow, that looks amazing. I asked the waiter if the chips were gluten-free. He said no, they cost extra. Why don’t tacos get along with burritos? Because they spill the beans. Nice. Why did tacos refuse to pie? Because they Wait for it. Here it comes. Almost there. Didn’t want to taco violence. What? I asked the waiter to send me something spicy and he brought me the bill. All right, now it’s time to make the meat. The best part. So, here are the ingredients. Skirt steak, lime, cilantro, onion, guacamole, radish, orange juice, lime juice, olive oil, soy sauce, cilantro, brown sugar, garlic paste, chili powder, cumin powder, Mexican oregano, salt, and pepper. All right, it’s time to dip it all in here and mix it all up. Okay. Cumin, garlic, uh oh, brown uh sugar. Woo. And woohoo. M. And then we’re going to refrigerate [Music] them. There you go. Here’s the marination time. All right. Time to make the Mexican rice. And here are your ingredients. oil, onion, long grain white rice, Roman tomatoes, garlic clove, water, salt, tomato paste, tomato bullion, chicken bullion, onion powder, garlic powder, ground cumin, and 1/4 cup of Woo! Okay, let’s do this. Woo! Fry the rice for about 3 minutes first. For 3 minutes. Don’t just let it sit there or else you’re going to get burnt rice like this. Right there. right there. What not to do? 3 minutes is up. We’re going to do 2 minutes. The onions. Next, we are going to add the tomatoes. Woo! Just 1 minute of stirring and garlic. Woohoo! First rice mixed with tomatoes and garlic. Next, we’re going to add the water. Woo! There you go. No fire is happening now. Just kidding. Just kidding. That was a close one. Spoke too soon. All right. And ground cumin. Ooh. Now, now this looks Mexican. This looks like Mexican rice. As this is mixing, we’re going to let it sit here for 20 minutes and we’re going to let it cook. Woo. So, we usually use this for Korean barbecue, but today we’re using it for Mexican barbecue. Oh. Oh. Oh, yes. All right. Okay. Okay. That’s medium rare. That’s much better. Oh, that’s a little bit rare. Oh, that’s extra rare. [Music] Why don’t we uh cut them first and then add them? Okay, look at this. All right. All right. I think this is much better. A look at [Music] that. Don’t forget to like, subscribe, and turn on your notifications. The Christies challenge. All right, we’re here to play pinata for Cinco de Maya. All right, first round. All the contestants are going to use their heads blindfolded and spin around five times. Let’s do this. All right. So, this time just use your head and spin three times. So, you want me to use right here the thing? And what’s inside the piñata? Something delicious. One, two, three, four, five. All right. Ready? Hit it. Woo! [Music] All right, so we’re here doing the second round. Everyone’s going to be blindfolded and then they’re going to kick it. Are you ready? I’m ready to kick some tacos. All right, we’re here to taco you. Yeah. Oh, yes. Here’s a pinata. Welcome to Christiey’s attempt at standup comedy. Now, here’s your wannabe comedian. Christy love. All right, let me tell you. Here’s how Mexicans and Koreans are alike. All right, number one, spice is life. Mexicans have salsa. Koreans, we have kimchi. But let me tell you, either way, if your tongue isn’t on fire, are you even eating? All right. Number two, family comes first. If you if you’re like my mom, she calls you like 10 times a day. Congratulations, you’re either Mexican or Korean. Number three, rice is sacred. Come on, who here likes rice? Forget about the fancy diet. If there’s no rice on the table, we’re all going to bed hungry for street food is like a religion. Whether it’s tacos at 2:00 a.m. or takoki from a car, you know, the best food is always sold by someone’s abalita or hung. Number five, fermented food is so normal. Koreans, we have kimchi. Mexicans, they have puls terrible, but trust us, it is m delicious. It definitely does not look like Mexican beans. [Music] All right, here’s the final thing. Spit or swallow. I’m going to try the beans first because these look the least appetizing. [Music] No, that one’s a Mexican [Music] rice. M. Now that’s the win. Mhm. Oh yeah. M. Let’s try this taco. Oh [Music] man, the meat is tender. It still tastes pretty bomb. The taco is a win. Woo. I did not forget about you, Mexican tofu. There you go. Is it yummy? Oh, good. I’m glad. At least this one turns out good. [Music] Woo! [Music] [Applause] Jesus loves you and so do I. Bye. [Music]
