Sautéed Spinach And Mushrooms With Marsala Wine Recipe – Side Dish For Steaks
Sautéed spinach and mushrooms with Marsala wine is the perfect side dish to serve alongside steaks and many other entrees. Eric from Simply Elegant Home Cooking demonstrates this delicious recipe. One of the keys is to make sure you don’t overcook the spinach! Cooking is complete when the spinach just begins to wilt. Also, be sure to clean the mushrooms using only a damp paper towel. Do not submerge or rinse them under running water or the mushrooms will absorb too much water and become soggy. For the Marsala wine, be sure to buy dry Marsala wine and not sweet. Also, be sure not to buy wine labeled “cooking wine” as these are of very poor quality. This side dish recipe is very easy and healthy and will be enjoyed by your friends and family!
Ingredients:
-24 oz. white button mushrooms sliced medium thickness
-12 oz. baby spinach
-4 sprigs fresh thyme
-2 TB olive oil
-1/2 cup dry Marsala wine
-Salt & pepper to taste

Excellent side dish. Spinach is one of my favorite vegetables & I eat it often. Adding the mushrooms & Marsala is a very nice twist.
