Balsamic Braised Pork Shoulder with Pear豚肩肉と洋梨のバルサミコ煮

Juicy, tender pork shoulder was cooked low and slow in balsamic vinegar sauce.  The pears really kick the flavor up a notch. It’s warm and cozy dish and pairs perfectly with polenta or mashed potatoes.

Ingredients (Serving for 2)
⚪︎1lb(500g) Pork shoulder, cut into 2”chunk
⚪︎1 tsp Salt
⚪︎1/2 tsp Garlic powder
⚪︎1/2 tsp Onion powder
⚪︎1/2 tsp Smoked paprika
⚪︎1/4 tsp Black pepper
⚪︎1 tbsp Vegetable oil
⚪︎1/2 cup Marsala wine
⚪︎1/4 cup Dried mushrooms(dehydrated in 1 cup of water)
⚪︎4 Dates
⚪︎3 Garlic cloves
⚪︎2 Bay leaves
⚪︎1/4 cup Balsamic vinegar
⚪︎2 tbsp Soy sauce
⚪︎1 tbsp Ketchup
⚪︎1 Pear

Directions
1. Season pork shoulder with salt, garlic powder, onion pepper,smoked paprika and black pepper.
2. Heat the oil in a dutch oven and brown pork shoulder until surface is seared and crusty, about couple minutes per side.
3. Pour marsala wine and simmer, reduce liquid by half.
4. Add dehydrated dried mushrooms with remaining ingredients except pear.
5. Cover and gently simmer on low for 1 hour until meat is fork tender.
6. Add pear and simmer for 10 minutes
7. Serve over polenta or mashed potatoes
