ASMR Various Japanese Pickled Cucumbers【Mukbang/ Eating Sounds】【English subtitles】
Thank you for watching today ♡ This is Miyu. Today, I’m going to eat 10 kinds of pickled cucumbers♪ This is “mayaku” cucumber (addictive cucumber). I pickled it in water, soy sauce, mirin, sugar, garlic, green onion, sesame, and chili pepper♪ It’s been soaked for 3 hours, so the flavor is strong! It’s spicy in many ways—both salty and hot. But it’s totally that classic pickled taste and it’s the best♪ It’s the kind of pickles that make you want to eat rice. Today, I’ve prepared mentaiko seaweed rice balls♪ Mentaiko and cucumber go really well together. Freshly cooked rice is just so good♡ This one is pickled cucumber rubbed with salt and marinated in sesame oil. This one is insanely delicious♡ Sesame oil is seriously unbeatable. This one isn’t very salty. So I feel like I could eat endless amounts♪ The rice ball is packed with mentaiko and feels super luxurious. It’s been a while since I made rice balls myself. Grabbing another one♪ It tastes kind of like namul. I love namul, so I love this too. Now I’m starting to crave namul. Out of all the namul, my favorite is bean sprouts. I already ate one whole rice ball. I wonder if three rice balls will be enough for today. This one is nukazuke (fermented rice bran pickles). I bought this one. Since it’s store-bought, it tastes like it was pickled by a pro—very refined♪ Today’s drink is super cold green tea. This one is rubbed with salt and soaked in icy salted water. Tastes just like something you’d get at a festival stall♡ Though to be honest, I’ve never actually had it at a festival. Since it’s a refreshing light pickle, I’m dipping it in gochujang sauce. Yum! This one also feels like I could eat an unlimited amount♡ Let’s not worry about how much is left and go for the second rice ball♪ The mentaiko I used is really small, so it was easy to wrap in the rice ball♪ This one is pickled using Ebara’s Asazuke-no-moto (light pickle seasoning), regular flavor. Compared to the previous one, this is much more deeply pickled. Still, it’s a light pickle♪ This one makes me really want to eat it with rice. It’s perfect♡ Originally, I was planning to make salt-only rice balls, but on a whim I went with mentaiko ones. Both the rice and cucumbers were so tasty—it was the perfect combo♪」 This one is cucumber pickled with ginger and salt and then squeezed. It’s on MAX refreshing level. This one is rubbed with salt and shio kombu (salted kelp). This is also lightly pickled and super delicious♡ Shio kombu is just way too tasty. Speaking of shio kombu, I imagine eating it with rice. I personally love shio kombu chazuke (rice with tea). These two have become my new favorites—they’re super tasty. Both are refreshing and feel perfect for summer. Maybe because summer is near, cucumbers were really cheap today♪ I thought “Now’s the chance!” and decided to try a cucumber pickle tasting challenge♪ Next up is moromi cucumber with Kinzanji miso. Sweet! It’s my first time trying this kind of miso. I’m not quite used to the taste yet, but I feel like I’ll get addicted. For the second piece, I’m dipping it in gochujang sauce! Of course it’s delicious, but every time I eat it, I’m amazed again at how good it is♡ The sweet-spicy balance is perfect. What flavor should I go with for the last one? I’ll go with Kinzanji miso, since I feel like I’ll get hooked the more I eat it. Kinzanji miso is a bit different from regular miso—more like a side-dish miso or chunky paste. Think of it as sweet moromi miso with chopped veggies for umami♪ By the way, the moromi cucumber isn’t pickled—it’s fresh cucumber. This one is cucumber pickled in kimchi base with egg yolk on top♪ It has quite a bit of sourness like a proper kimchi. It’s super refreshing and delicious. The accordion-sliced cucumbers were pickled for 3 hours. The rest were lightly pickled for 10 to 30 minutes♪ Cucumber kimchi has a bit of a unique flavor, right? After eating it a few times, I really started to love it. Among all vegetables, I really love cucumbers. What I like about cucumbers is how refreshing they are. Personally, I love it when they’re included in salads♪ This one is Kyuri no Kyuchan (a famous Japanese brand of pickled cucumber)! So good♡ This was the saltiest one. It’s been over 10 years since I last ate Kyuri no Kyuchan. I honestly don’t even remember when I last had it. There’s one more kind I haven’t tried yet, but I’m saving it for later since it’s special♪ Out of everything I’ve tried today, my favorite was the accordion cucumber with sesame oil! I really love sesame oil. Especially when it’s drizzled on seafood or veggies—it’s the best♡ This “mayaku” accordion cucumber had the strongest flavor. It gave me that satisfying “this is a real pickle” feeling. Just looking at the color, it clearly looks like the most seasoned one♪ The cucumbers were especially crunchy and delicious. You definitely need rice with this one♡ I made the mentaiko rice balls based on Lawson’s Guzo Onigiri spicy cod roe version♪ I thought it looked good but might be hard to eat—but it was surprisingly easy to eat. My favorite, sesame oil! This is dangerously addictive♡ The more I eat, the more I want. This seasoning made the cucumbers feel extra juicy. And just like that—they’re gone. I’ll definitely make this again someday♪ Adding a salted rice ball♪ Perfect combo♡ This last one is cucumber pickled with Ebara’s Asazuke Kombu Dashi seasoning. The final type. Delicious! I love light pickles♪ Even for kimchi, I prefer lightly pickled ones. These two light-pickled kinds are easily in my top two today♡ Also, the ones with shio kombu and ginger were great too♪ Oh, and the kimchi, mayaku cucumber, salted cucumber, nukazuke, and moromi cucumber were all amazing. …So basically, I liked all of them. It was hot and humid today, so I was super satisfied to eat cold, refreshing cucumbers♡ I hope you all beat the summer heat by eating pickled cucumbers too♪ I want to eat more summery foods again. There’s just a little bit left, so please keep watching♪ Please subscribe, like, and leave a comment♡ Your support is my energy!
