A Flavorful Fusion: Chicken Mushroom Delight

Ingredients (serves 2):

Chicken:
200 grams (7 ounces) boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces

Seasoning:
– ½ teaspoon salt
– ½ teaspoon black pepper
– ½ teaspoon each of paprika, dried lemon powder, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, and thyme
– 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
– 2 tablespoons plain yogurt
– 1 tablespoon vinegar
– 1 tablespoon pomegranate molasses
– 1 tablespoon teriyaki sauce
– 1 tablespoon soy sauce

Mushrooms:
200 grams (7 ounces) sliced mushrooms

Marinade:
– 1 tablespoon cornstarch or rice flour
– 50-100 grams (2-4 ounces) heavy cream
– ½ cup milk

Instructions:
– In a large bowl, combine the chicken, salt, pepper, paprika, lemon powder, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, thyme, mustard, yogurt, vinegar, pomegranate molasses, teriyaki sauce, and soy sauce. Mix well to coat the chicken evenly.

– Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 24 hours for deeper flavor.

– In a separate bowl, toss the sliced mushrooms with a sprinkle of salt and pepper.

– Heat a large pan over medium-high heat. Add a tablespoon of olive oil or cooking oil and cook the marinated chicken in batches until golden brown and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes per batch. Transfer the cooked chicken to a plate and set aside preferably covered.

– In the same pan, add the remaining marinade and bring to a simmer. Whisk in the cornstarch or rice flour until the sauce thickens and coats the back of a spoon.

– Return the cooked chicken to the pan along with the prepared mushrooms. Stir gently to combine with the sauce.

– Pour in the heavy cream and milk, and simmer for another 2-3 minutes until the flavors meld.

– Serve the Chicken Mushroom with rice, pasta, or with your favorite side dishes. Garnish with fresh herbs like parsley or cilantro for an extra touch of flavor.

Tips:
* For a richer flavor, use full-fat cream and milk.
* If you prefer a spicier dish, add a pinch of red pepper flakes or a dash of hot sauce.
* Feel free to adjust the amount of seasonings to your taste preference.
