Mr. Hsu is finally taking me to eat at Xuji, which is an all-you-can-eat restaurant. Our online friends have been clamoring for us to go and film there. I guess people in Kaohsiung are all scrambling to book another all -you -can-eat restaurant, Daoyu. But I ‘m not going to follow the trend. I’m going to queue up for scallops right now. The scallops are definitely worth it! A whole plate of all three, give me everything! The scallops are super worth it ! But when I come to a buffet, I always start with a set of sashimi. Today I’m having salmon, swordfish, Indian Ocean swordfish, and two kinds of Donggang tuna. I think I should explain a little more. They said it’s freshly caught, meaning different fresh fish every day ! So what you get might not be the same as what we have today. I don’t know if it’s green tuna, but the skin is very crispy . I rarely see seared fish at buffets because sashimi is usually all raw and rarely offers searing. If you’re planning to dine here, I highly recommend arriving at 5:30 PM because they have three meal periods, and it gets very crowded towards the end. At 5:30 PM, there’s a lot of food… It’s great that there’s no queue yet ! I want to tell you what I just grabbed from the fried food section. You absolutely have to try the fried shrimp! Every time I go to a buffet, I always eat fried shrimp. And this next to it… I was really surprised! It’s abalone, that’s right , but it’s topped with… I didn’t eat the abalone earlier because I wanted this. It’s topped with a sweet and sour mayonnaise sauce , kind of like wasabi mayonnaise. And on the counter, everyone’s grabbing these . They say these are Japanese oysters, and that’s right! They also have grilled oysters in the grilling area. I forgot to get them for you, I’ll get them for you later. Each one is so big! And what I think is amazing is… Next to the sauce section, each ingredient comes with a lot of sauces. Like this one I just saw, it’s miso. You can dip it in fried food and eat it directly. I really like their frying powder . Their frying powder is crispy and crunchy, not the scratchy kind, but really crispy and crunchy. I forgot to get the shrimp paste, but it’s okay, it’s just as good with mayonnaise. It’s just that the sauce is a bit sweet, so it can be a little cloying. I want to recommend the grilled pork ribs next to it. I initially looked down on them , thinking they’d be hard to chew or taste bad. But when you bite into them, the oil bursts out between your teeth. These are quite delicious . Two. As soon as I saw the long queue, I immediately went to get some hand rolls. I think there were 6 or 5 kinds, I can’t quite remember, but you can only take 3 at a time. I ordered scallion tuna, crab roe, and the one on the left, seared mentaiko. It was amazing! Just now, there was a lady in front of me who told the chef she didn’t want plain rice. It’s a bit of a shame not to include rice, because I think hand rolls should have a little bit of rice. There wasn’t much rice; it was just the right amount. You could call it less rice , but I still think it should have rice because mentaiko is very salty. Without rice, you’ll really be overwhelmed by the saltiness. Crab roe and scallion tuna—which one do you want ? I thought you preferred scallion tuna. He ‘s treating today, so I listened to him. I wanted to eat this donburi (rice bowl), it’s small and not too filling, but there was a lot of sauce. It was still sauce all the way to the bottom . This donburi is … kind of like a ready-made meal kit. You can try it; it reminds me of the beef donburi I used to cook in my dorm in college. It looks like a Wagyu beef meal pack, but no, it’s just that. I think you don’t need to order anything special here. What is this? This is Wagyu sukiyaki, and this is king crab chicken broth. This is udon noodles, and this is soup. Are all of these freshly cooked? Freshly cooked ? That section is all freshly cooked. They actually have a lot of freshly cooked dishes here. The sukiyaki is quite delicious. They only give you a small bite of rice and one or two strands of noodles. It’s great. It’s more worthwhile than a donburi. I just got some seafood from the seafood section… Wow, I cut it and it’s still okay, I can still pull it out a little bit. Their crabs seem to include bread crabs, blue crabs, and cod crabs. Everyone is basically getting these . There are also pliers on the side table for everyone to cut. You can get whatever tool you like from the side. There are also scissors. When we first came, I noticed that every table came to this section to get seafood. There was also a couple who were super enthusiastic. But it’s not really that delicious. I just saw this and it looks so pretty, I couldn’t resist picking it up . Although I think it must be a piece of junk , it looks so pretty that I wanted to try it . It looks like a jelly and there are shrimp inside. It’s definitely something that looks good but isn’t very useful. It’s jelly with shrimp inside and sesame sauce on the side. It’s fancy but not practical. It’s creative, but it’s not practical. You don’t need to eat it. What did you just get? Their sparkling special drinks are really quite good . Wait, this is the flavor of Wrigley’s Spearmint gum! Oh yes, yes, yes, yes, the seared nigiri sushi series … Mr. Xu and I each ordered three , but we kept ordering the scallops. You really can’t do without scallops! Their vinegared rice is also very good. Because when we go to some buffets, the vinegared rice there is either a bit sticky or not vinegary enough , but theirs is seasoned just right , and the portion size is just right … one bite is just right . Besides the scallops we just ate, there’s also salmon belly and the butterfly fish that Mr. Xu ordered . I ordered Wagyu beef. Actually, there are quite a few other kinds too… I’d love to try it – it has 6 kinds – so you can try them all in two rounds because they limit you to three items at a time, which is quite inconvenient . I highly recommend the seared fish ; I really like it . Last time I came, I ate it like crazy, but it gets very filling if you eat a lot of rice . If you don’t want rice, order sashimi. Sashimi can also be seared. Oh, I remember, I want to eat this. I just saw Wagyu croquettes on the sign outside . Everyone keeps talking about croquettes; I just used one. The one next to it looks like yogurt sauce. The one next to it also looks like mango yogurt sauce , but mango yogurt sauce doesn’t really go well with Wagyu. But I think many of their Wagyu products aren’t particularly delicious. I was just about to say …hehehe, you don’t really need to eat this one. I don’t know about their Wagyu … Why is it that the meat inside is minced , and the minced meat part has tendons and fat? I feel the texture isn’t melt-in-your-mouth and it’s not particularly delicious . Besides the nigiri sushi, there were actually some regular sushi and creative sushi next to it . Like this one I just saw, it seems to be some kind of starry sky eel sushi. The star eel is shaped into a square, which is quite unique . However, I only want to eat the star eel on top and the one below, which is kind of like eating them together. Let me tell you, don’t pick at the rice grains at the bottom of the star eel . OK Because it’s just a small ball , about the size of a finger joint, the texture is quite amazing. Just as I was eating crab meat, salmon roe popped in my mouth – a mixed sensation ! I love the crab meat; their crab meat is very chewy. I even ordered this just to eat crab meat, and then went to get this. It has some diced apple underneath to cut the richness. The diced apple is so delicious and so sour! It’s really so sour! Let me tell you, these side dishes are nice to have if you want a different flavor , but if you feel a bit full, you don’t need to eat them. They’re quite unique and have interesting seasonings. So I decided to give it a chance , but if you come to eat it cold, please don’t say it’s not good, don’t blame me! It’s sakura shrimp fried rice, quite delicious and fragrant . It’s so good when it’s freshly fried , so delicious! Oh my god! If you just see the chef making it, give it to him. But if it gets cold, I can’t guarantee it will be good because this kind of fried rice sometimes gets a bit hard when it’s cold. The shrimp inside are the bouncy shrimp we just picked up at the buffet. They ‘re really fragrant when fried. The sakura shrimp is also great. Oh no, I’m already full. This is so delicious. I basically took everything from the freezer, but I personally don’t like the Japanese sweets like yokan on the right side, so I didn’t take any . The most important thing to eat at Asahi Dessert is the Ningyo-yaki. The Ningyo-yaki comes in two flavors. I think you’ll love one of them : vanilla custard . The other one is matcha red bean. Do you want some custard? I want one . When he was making it on the spot, I was really surprised because the filling was so full of matcha . You can see for yourself . The matcha red bean here is bitter matcha, quite bitter . Kids probably won’t like the kind of bitterness. It also has a slight seaweed flavor. People who can’t handle bitterness… Ningyo-yaki looks a bit like a regular sponge cake. I don’t really like the sponge cake itself , but the filling isn’t very sweet. People who like matcha should really love the custard . The custard is delicious. It’s the kind of custard with a milk tea flavor. However, the cake inside is chewy, but it’s a bit like mochi. It’s a little dry . If it weren’t for the filling, I probably wouldn’t like it. The room temperature cake section has more cheese or pound cakes . There are some flavors in the pound cake section that I don’t really like, so I didn’t eat any. This one is strawberry cheesecake. It’s rose- flavored. I didn’t really like the strawberry cheesecake because the bottom biscuit crust was a bit soggy ! The scones had dried fruit and… I think I bit into a nut, macadamia nut ! It had dried fruit and macadamia nut inside , so it had a chewy texture with both the dried fruit and crunchy macadamia nut. As for the biscuit section , I think you should just pick the flavors you like because they’re pretty standard . Next is the left half of the cake display. What I want to eat is… actually , I don’t know if the cake flavors change depending on the season or month, but this time it’s mostly matcha-based . Is this rabbit … a daifuku? Wait a minute … oh, this should be daifuku. This should be sesame. Sesame fruit is also a fruit , but it looks quite cute. The one in front is a matcha milk roll . They have this matcha milk roll and this matcha tart . The milk roll is delicious and moist, a completely different level from the sponge cake. The matcha tart… The crust of this tart is a bit like the kind of buffet you see at conferences, right? It’s similar in that way. But the matcha chocolate inside is quite delicious ! It’s a delicious dessert. This chocolate… I should have ordered the matcha daifuku, but I misspoke earlier. There should be three matcha desserts. The matcha tart was raw chocolate… it tasted like raw chocolate, a little softer . The matcha daifuku on the left is red bean paste. The flavor is a mix of matcha and red bean paste. Compared to that, I… I seem to like the matcha tart; its filling is quite moist. All their desserts have a common problem : they’re all slightly moist, which makes them taste like this. Mr. Xu, I can answer you now. I realized who this rabbit was after eating it a bit. Its bottom gave it away— it’s sesame! They have two flavors of wagashi (Japanese sweets): red bean and sesame. I thought they both looked pretty good, so I ordered the sesame. The flavor is so strong! Oh, so strong! It’s really sweet! But it melts on your tongue after you put it in your mouth ; it’s like snowflake candy, you know? It sticks completely to your tongue. Sesame lovers should try it. If you don’t mind it being too sweet, this is a really interesting texture . Anyway, I think their desserts are generally just average. If you like wagashi, you’ll like their dessert display , but for me, the desserts aren’t particularly outstanding. And their ice cream— I think you can skip it. Why? Because it’s not good. But they have one… I’ll unbox the special stuff later and show it to you. To wrap things up, I’ll finish with ice cream soft serve. This soft serve is a collaboration with Ninio, I think it was Oriental Beauty Tea before, and this time it’s chestnut . Look, I love chestnuts! The cup is amazing, so pretty! And there’s berry at the bottom? It tastes like berry jam! Oh my god, I absolutely love it! Hmm, strange, there’s a lingering aftertaste, it should have a hint of chestnut aroma, but why does it taste a little sour? If you didn’t know, you’d think it was some kind of berry soft serve . Oh yes! The chestnut flavor is very delicate, the chestnut puree flavor is very subtle, it slowly emerges in the aftertaste, and initially it tastes a little like wild berries. Strange, how can it still taste like that? Actually, it does contain wild berries, I don’t know. Be careful if you give this to kids because it contains alcohol. The staff are very considerate; they’ll ask if it’s okay if it contains alcohol before you take the soft serve. I really have to say, the staff at Asahi are very… They were professional and attentive. When ordering, they explained some important points to note about the ingredients, including things that might be sensitive for some people . The service was great! We’ve finally finished our Xuji buffet feast today . For a buffet in Kaohsiung, I think Xuji is relatively expensive, but the ingredients we ate today were all quite fresh and delicious. Thumbs up! I’ll definitely come back next time. I hope I can eat there every day, especially their fried scallops! I would definitely come back just for them.   2. 兩家我都吃過,旭集之前還有麵包蟹可是沒多久就沒了,可能是成本太高,島語不錯吃,海鮮怎麼拿都很少雷

  6. 旭集的干貝比島語的好多了,品質都一樣而且我都喜歡最後才吃可以無限拿這樣吃起來才爽,所以前面會控制食量保持戰力

  7. 旭集一直在cost down,已經重當初的食材變到現在都縮水(等級沒第一年好),島語就真的少部分幾樣菜好吃,只有網紅那一次食材等級高,完全沒有蜜月期食材延續,一般菜色吃完蠻失望(甜點,手工冰淇淋是真的不錯),帕里巴黎花的金額CP值可能吃起來比較不心酸。

  8. 饗食天堂干貝比較需要搶首發,旭集跟饗饗真的可以坐等排隊人潮結束再進去😂

  9. 澎湖在地人 上月底 有訂到 就去吃了 我發現 續集時才比漢來海港 響食高檔得較多 所以 我最愛的日式料理 反而沒啥人搶 哈 這三家 只有續集讓我吃到爽 真的有吃飽才離開 生魚片沒人跟我搶 94爽 但是 我11/24號去 那天的日本蟹腳 乾扁 沒啥肉? 冷凍沒退完全嗎? 有點失望 不過 因為不住台灣 只嚐鮮各一次就好 足夠了 下次去高雄 改去壽司郎吃看看 因我 我幾乎是為了生魚片去吃的 所以 很多東西連看都不看 沒特別想吃 哈哈
