Today I made a rich sweet potato that is easy to make in the toaster. Hello, I am Yukari, an egg sommelier. This channel introduces various cooking recipes and useful information. Please subscribe to my channel and enjoy. Please subscribe to my channel Today I want to make a rich sweet potato. In my previous video, I showed you a cube-shaped, bite-sized sweet potato, but today, I would like to change the shape and make a dense sweet potato. This time, it’s the kind they often use in these stores and so on. Going to use a little oval-shaped aluminum box, which is called a boat-shaped box. If you don’t have a mold like this, you can buy aluminum cups for side dishes at 100 yen stores. This is a little bit soft, but you can use this instead. Most sweet potato recipes call for only egg yolks, but I’d like to introduce a recipe that calls for whole eggs. I hope you’ll have a great time. Please have a look at it. Here are today’s ingredients. Sweet potatoes, sugar, cream, eggs, butter, and vanilla extract. I will make it with these materials. Pretty much. I’ve kept the material lineup as simple as possible. The key point this time is to use whole eggs. Today going to make it with these ingredients. Now let’s start making it. First I will peel the sweet potatoes. You can do this with a peeler or with a knife. So, I’m going to microwave them, but they’re a little bit hot, so it’s hard to peel them, so I’m going to peel them first, like this. And then going to cut the heck out of it. And then going to cut this into pieces about 2 cm wide. And then I cut it like this. Then I cut this in half again. Then later on, it’s easier to mash them, so cutting them in half makes it easier to cook them. Put the sweet potatoes in a bowl with water. This process removes the astringency and bitterness from the sweet potatoes, so the sweet potatoes are sweet and delicious. Okay, so going to let them soak for about 10 minutes. Now beat the eggs. First, crack the eggs into a bowl. Beat this one well. This time using whole eggs, so be sure to mix them in thoroughly first. Mix thoroughly like this. Then I want to remove some of the whites that are still in the mixture, so we strain it once. And that way, you know, you get a nice clean finish. And then, when you strain it once, the dough will be smooth, and then when you glaze it, it’ll be beautiful, and it’ll be glossy. And then we’re going to strain the egg mixture like this. Drain the sweet potatoes from the water and wrap them in plastic wrap. Microwave the sweet potatoes in a microwave oven at 600W for 3 to 5 minutes until they are soft. If you have time, microwave at 200 to 150W for about 15 minutes The longer you cook sweet potatoes at a lower temperature, the sweeter they will be. So if you have the time, please do it at a lower wattage for a longer time. Either way, cook until the sweet potatoes are tender. It’s finished like this Be careful not to burn yourself. Be careful. And then I’ll use a bamboo skewer like this to check that it’s soft and done. OK. And then I’ll take a little bit of, you know, water out of this, so going to take some water out of it. And then once the water is removed, we mash the sweet potatoes with a fork or something like that. If the bowl is too hot, mash the sweet potatoes in a different bowl without straining. Crush in this way. If you have a masher, yes, you can use a masher. If you roughly crush the dough like this, you can add butter at this point. After that, I strain the sweet potatoes, but after that, the butter doesn’t dissolve as easily, so I add the butter and the sugar together. And then I melt it while it’s still warm. And then, you know, after that, I’d like to strain it. If the sweet potatoes are too sweet, you can reduce the amount of sugar. Sugar, Adjust the amount to your liking. The butter and sugar have melted well like this. And then I’ll use a bowl, a colander, whatever. And then going to strain the sweet potatoes through this. It’s a little bit of work, but I think it’s a good idea to do this. If you like the crunchy texture, you can skip this step. Let’s strain the sweet potatoes until all the sweet potatoes are done. Finally done. See. The back side looks like this. And then you take this one here, and you can remove the fiber part of the sweet potato, so there’s no residue in your mouth when you eat it. Now it looks like this. Then let’s knead it once. And then I’ll put about two thirds of the egg mixture in here. Add the cream and vanilla essence. I’ll mix it up with this. Let’s mix it well. At first it’s a little bit watery, but the sweet potatoes absorb the water, so it’s okay if it’s a little bit, you know, soft. It becomes this creamy. Softness-wise, this is about right. About as soft as an earlobe. This is OK. Then I’ll get a spoon and spoon it in. I use this rim to adjust the amount. About this much. And then I’m going to drop another spoonful into this container here. Swoosh. Dropped like this. Then I’m going to shape it with the back of this spoon. And then, you know, we’re going to make a beautiful shape. If you use the back of the spoon like this, and stroke it like this, the surface will be very beautiful. It’s like this. Okay, now let’s do it one more time. I’m going to take about a spoonful. So you’re going to have this container, and you’re going to scrape it off with the other spoon. And then it’s already in advance. It’s a little bit long in the face. And then with this other spoon, let’s shape it like this. Here is another smooth surface finish. I will continue to make this until I run out of sweet potatoes. This is how it turned out. So, if you use a spoon, you can make an oval shape like this from the beginning, so it’s easier to make the sweet potato shape. I also recommend using the back of a spoon, because you can make a nice even surface with the spoon. And then, when you use a side dish cup, you form it with your hands, spread it out a little bit like this, and then put it here. If it’s made of solid aluminum, you can use a spoon to shape it, but if it’s a side dish cup, it’s a little soft, so I think it’s better to shape it with your hands first, and then place it like this. And then we’ll apply the egg mixture here. This is for shine. And this is the egg wash that’s been strained so that it’s nice and glossy. And then this time, we’re going to bake it in the toaster. The key point is that toaster tends to burn easily, so keep an eye on it. This time. Bake it twice. It’s been about 5 minutes now. And then, you know, the surface has dried out and it’s starting to brown a little bit. Then I’ll do a second coat. This gives a beautiful golden browning. Then toast them again until they are golden brown. It’s done. It’s done when it’s browned like this. Baking with two coats gives a shiny browning like this You’re welcome, and here’s the one made with the side dish cups. And if you squish the sweet potato around the cup, you get a little bit of a fancy, store-bought sweet potato. And that’s it. It is browned like this and looks delicious. Now, I would like to eat. The inside is very moist. Let’s eat. It’s amazingly moist, quite dense and delicious. The sweetness is perfect. I think it depends on the sweetness of the sweet potatoes It turned out delicious today! The key point of this sweet potato is that by removing the scum from the sweet potato after peeling it, you can remove the astringency and bitterness from the sweet potato, which makes for a very delicious sweet potato. If you want to bring out the sweetness of the sweet potato, microwave the sweet potato in a 200W microwave oven for about 15 minutes until the sweet potato is soft. The longer you cook sweet potatoes at low temperature, the sweeter and sweeter they become. If you use whole eggs, be sure to strain the egg mixture before using them. The key to getting a beautiful shape like this is to first take a spoonful and then drop it with another spoon like this, so that when you drop it, it already has an oval shape, so it’s very easy to shape. And if you stroke the surface with the back of the spoon, it flattens out, so you can make a very beautifully shaped sweet potato. The aluminum foil I used this time is a boat shape, which is a hard aluminum foil mold. If you don’t have it, you can make it more like a restaurant by putting the side dish cup down and scrunching it up a little bit to make it look like a restaurant. It’s very simple, so please try it. 1.
