    I’ve arrived at Okage Yokocho, an area in the Oharaimachi district of Ise City, Mie Prefecture. Okage Yokocho is located in the exact center of Oharaimachi, a bustling town in front of Ise Grand Shrine (Naiku). Okage Yokocho is home to over 50 stores, creating a small town-like atmosphere. The streets , which recreate the townscape of the Edo period, are lined with specialty restaurants and souvenir shops. As Oharaimachi is just a short walk from Uji Bridge at the Naiku, it’s a popular spot where many people stop by before or after visiting the shrine. Today, I’d like to enjoy this town while sampling the local cuisine. I’ve come to Fukusuke to try Ise udon, a local dish of Mie Prefecture. It appears to be a popular restaurant specializing in Ise udon, and I’d like to try their limited-edition handmade Ise udon. The 850 yen order arrived quickly. They boast thick, chewy noodles and a homemade sauce made with natural dashi. It’s not as chewy as regular udon, but rather has a soft, fluffy texture. It’s so soft it almost breaks when you pick it up with chopsticks. Next, we headed to Butasute, a popular eatery for those looking to go on a food tour. They offer takeout of classic croquettes and minced cutlets , and the restaurant next door serves authentic beef dishes like gyudon and gyu-nabe. Croquettes (130 yen) . Though the shop’s name is Butasute, the beef used in the croquettes is robust, so they’re delicious even without sauce. As we walked, a sweet aroma drifted through the air, drawing us to Dangoya, the only dango specialty shop in Okage Yokocho. Sumitarasu Dango (180 yen). Kinako Dango (roasted soybean flour dumplings). The 200 yen dumplings, made with rice flour made from domestically grown non-glutinous rice, were slowly baked for a delicious rice aroma. The mitarashi and kinako (roasted soybean flour) were also delicious. The Isuzu River was located right next to the bustling Okage Yokocho . The Isuzu River flows through Ise City, Mie Prefecture, and passes through the sacred grounds of the Inner Shrine of Ise Grand Shrine. Trees swayed along the river’s pure waters, offering a stark contrast to the bustle of the Oharaimachi area . This land of divine winds, Ise, is a beautiful land where the waves of eternity wash over one another. I want to stay here. These are the words of Amaterasu Omikami, recorded in the Nihon Shoki. Returning to Okage Yokocho, I was drawn in by the Japanese atmosphere and charming signboard and stopped by Tofuan Nakayama. “We want to make tofu using the delicious waters of the Isuzu River.” This shop was founded with this idea in mind, and is committed to making tofu that makes the most of the quality of the water. It is made using only three ingredients: water, domestic soybeans, and natural bittern. Unohana Donut (130 yen ) Made using the okara (soybean pulp) that is produced during the tofu-making process, Unohana Donut has a very gentle flavor. Located nearby Tofuan Nakayama is Katsu, a shop that specializes in Ise kushikatsu. Ise pork cutlet (180 yen) is a sweet cutlet that can be enjoyed as a snack . Kawanishiya is popular for its egg sandwiches and tamagoyaki (rolled omelets) made with locally-sourced eggs from Meiwa. The artisanal techniques used to make fluffy rolled omelets are also a must-see. Tamagoyaki 150 yen The thick, plump omelet was filled with broth and was juicy and sweet. To conclude our trip to Okage Yokocho, we stopped by Akafuku, a well-known Ise specialty. At the main store, you can eat Akafuku mochi handmade by artisans. Akafuku mochi (rice cakes) with beautiful, glossy bean paste (koshian) for 400 yen. The smooth bean paste and soft mochi were truly delicious. The “Festival of Lights” is a limited-time event where approximately 1,500 lanterns decorate the townscape at night. When the lights come on at night, it looks like you’ll be able to spend a magical evening at Okage Yokocho. It’s about time to head to your accommodation for the night. Today’s accommodation is the Kamenoi Hotel Toba, surrounded by the healing power of the sea and hot springs. Feel the sea breeze of Toba Bay while enjoying the bounty of Ise-Shima cuisine and the natural hot springs from its own source. Access is approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes by express train from Nagoya, approximately 2 hours from Osaka, and approximately 3.5 hours from Tokyo. From Ise Jingu Shrine and Okage Yokocho, which we mentioned earlier, it’s approximately 20 minutes by train or 30 minutes by car. Matsusaka beef is also on sale . Matsusaka beef curry was in the top three of the side dishes, so I decided to buy some as a souvenir. Looking for souvenirs is also one of the joys of traveling. A welcome service is available in the lobby. The Ise tea is from Ise Ujien, located in Oharaimachi in front of the Inner Shrine of Ise Grand Shrine, which we visited earlier.The salt manju are made with pearl powder, and there were also soft red bean paste cookies with a cute TOBA logo and green laver cookies.These cookies are apparently homemade.After checking in, it’s nice to be able to take a break in the lobby with tea and sweets.The soft red bean paste cookies were moist and had a gentle taste.The salt manju had a delicious, lingering saltiness.The table in the lobby was decorated with shells donated by Toba Aquarium, and we enjoyed tea while looking at the various shells.Water horn shell…red seashell… nautilus.Is it all-you-can-eat Matsusaka beef? The room is approximately 45 square meters and is greeted by the warmth of wood and soft lighting. There are two semi-double beds and a power outlet and light switch next to the pillow, so it is very convenient to charge your smartphone before going to bed. Beyond the window is an open terrace and a private open-air bath. Although it is not a hot spring, it is attractive that you can enjoy a relaxing bath in a private space. The terrace is approximately 29 square meters in size and you can relax while feeling the breeze. The washroom can be accessed from both inside and outside. This room is equipped with the skincare brand Mikimoto Cosmetics. The room comes with amenities that will add a touch of luxury to your relaxing stay. There were also amenities for men. The shower room was also clean . Back in the living room, there were snacks and tea sets available . The Kalita coffee set and coffee cups were stylish. There was Ise tea in the refrigerator. This time, the room didn’t have a view, but there are other rooms with better views, so I’ll introduce those too. The bath is open from 11:00 AM to midnight and from 5:00 AM to 9:00 AM the next morning. *Every Wednesday, it opens from 3:00 PM. The men’s and women’s baths are not switched the following day.       内宮を(ないぐう)と読む人がいますが
      内宮→ ないくう です
      宮は濁りません
      なので外宮も げくう と濁りません
      そこだけが気になりました
      それ以外はとても素晴らしく地元を紹介していただきありがとうございます

    12. 九州から伊勢旅行で、22日に亀の井ホテル鳥羽さんに泊まります。
      とてもわかりやすく行くのがとても楽しみになりました😊
      ただ鮑の無料が12月からなのが残念でした😂せっかくの伊勢なので鮑や伊勢海老を食べて帰りたいと思います。

    13. 予想以上な低価格で驚きました。それでいてあの料理は
      値打ち有りますね。ただ寿司・刺身はあまり魅力的では無かったですが、
      その他はほぼ満足しそう。蟹相当好きというか大胆ですね。夕食の味噌汁の
      蟹の量、そしてこれまた朝の大量の蟹。周りの方ビビってませんでした?
