I always keep some sashimi grade fish in the freezer, and when I want to make this, Iโll submerge the frozen tuna under water to defrost. The fish will hold and cut through A LOT easier when slightly frozen.
Ingredients:
-Japanese short grain rice
-Seasoned Tuna
-Cucumber
-Edamame
-Green Onion
Feel free to add whatever you like!
Marinate for Tuna:
-Tbsp Sesame Oil
-1 Tbsp Maple Syrup
-1.5 Tsp Rice Vinegar
-.5 Tsp Zested Ginger
-2 Green Onions – white parts
-1 Tsp White Sesame seeds
-1 Tsp Black Sesame seeds
Method:
-Mix marinade ingredients
-slice tuna into cubes, and add to marinade
-once rice is cooked, serve prepped ingredients and marinated tuna over rice.
-optional: can add sushi vinegar to rice.
