Something I’ve been looking forward to has arrived. Apparently, white boxes are rare. I bought fluffy mouton clogs. They’re so cute, I fell in love with them at first sight! ❤️. They’re easy to put on and take off, so they’re perfect for taking to and from school. So cute. My child seemed to want a box, so I gave them one, and they wanted to hold me. It’s time for some cuddle time! 🐱 And, my long-awaited electric blanket. My feet often get so cold I can’t sleep, so I was determined to get one this year. So fluffy! 🤍. It’s machine washable if you unplug it. I washed it right away and will be using it from today. I washed it on the delicate cycle. I was so busy yesterday that I couldn’t take any pictures after that. After dropping off the kids, it’s time for some morning chores. The winged Pikmin that appeared in the Pikmin Chocolate Eggs. My beloved Enkianthus camphorata. I picked off the yellow, frizzy leaves. I left the ones that were yellow but not frizzy. I refilled my detergent, which I feel like I don’t spill much anymore. And, as expected, I spilled some! 🫩 I’m having lunch with a friend today. Work has been busy since the end of summer vacation, so it’s been a while since we last hung out. I slept under my electric blanket last night, and it’s not only fluffy and comfortable, but also gently warm, so I fell asleep quickly. It has 10 temperature settings and a timer that can be set in 1-hour increments up to 12 hours, so I always set it to turn off after 2 hours. Electric blankets are the best ❤️. My breakfast these days has been bananas and Oikos. Costco bananas are sweet and delicious, and I eat almost all of them. Maybe it’s autumn, but I’ve been getting hungry so quickly lately. My wallet. Eco bag and pouch. Mints and handkerchief. A sticker book for sticker exchange. My daughter made a keychain for my keys 🤍. I’m off. This UGG blanket was a baby shower gift for my daughter. It’s been 10 years, but it’s still beautiful and fluffy. The moment we met, she said, “I forgot my sticker book!” 😂. Apparently, my friend started doing sticker exchanges because her daughter asked her to. 🩷 She said the same thing as my daughter ❤️. We talked about all sorts of things, and my favorite shrimp pasta was delicious! 🦐❤️ We had a cute dessert, then headed to Starbucks. I told her I didn’t know how to order because I hadn’t been to Starbucks, so I ordered the new item the staff recommended. 🍓 I got home and did a little work. The heated carpet is so comfortable, I want a low table, but every year I think it would get in the way. Uni-chan was sleeping next to me. So cute 🥹❤️. I’m making dinner. Today is Halloween, so I’m making a Halloween menu. First, I’ll make pumpkin soup. I peel the onion and pumpkin and fry them in butter. I’ll add 350ml of water and the pumpkin, add consommé, and simmer. I’ll make a soft-boiled egg in the microwave. Uni-chan came to play 🐱❤️. I set the soft-boiled egg to “mild” for a nice texture. I’ll make a Caesar salad. My daughter is playing Animal Crossing: New Horizons’ Halloween event, and the animal sounds she hears are adorable. I cut out Halloween shapes from bread to use as croutons. 🎃👻 I ‘ll also cut out cheese to use as a topping. I’m finishing up my pumpkin soup. I added 200ml of milk, tasted it, and added some consommé. It makes a lovely crunching sound. 💓 My husband got home early today, so I let him make the hamburger patties. I sautéed the garlic in butter, then added red wine, ketchup, sauce, water, consommé, and sugar. I tasted and adjusted the seasoning, then simmered. Meanwhile, I grilled the hamburger patties. Once both sides were cooked, I added the patties and poured in the gravy. I also finished the salad. While I was cutting out shapes with my daughter, I forgot to make a garnish for the hamburger patties. The colors are a bit off, but that’s okay. My daughter arranged the cheese. The Halloween croutons are cute, too. My husband bought some Mister Donut for dessert. I think the next event will be Christmas. I went to Aeon on my day off to look for stickers, and then I shopped at Francfranc for the first time in a while. I bought two cute, fluffy cushion covers. And two ornaments for the tree. Our Christmas decorations are almost complete. My daughter worked hard on it 🎄. Uni-chan keeps dropping the ornaments, so I’ve been sticking to cheap ones, but I really wanted some, so I bought two to try them out. I put them out of Uni-chan’s reach to balance them out. My daughter also made some ornaments 🐱🕯️. The plants in our garden are turning red. The Japanese holly is so beautiful. The checkerberry has beautiful red leaves and adorable red berries. Just looking at them is fun 🌳💓. I did three loads of laundry today. My son’s friend is staying over, so I’m putting away his washed bedding. All of his sleepover bedding is from Nitori. It’s all in a set, including the pillow, so he can just take it out and go to sleep. Why does he want to sleep in here? 😂? Before I knew it, it was evening. I’m making rice while drinking vinegar. Right now, it’s pineapple flavored. I just went shopping and found some cheap pacific saury, so I’m making pacific saury mixed rice today. Daikon radish. To soaked rice, add 340cc of water, 20cc of light soy sauce, 10cc of dark soy sauce, 30cc of sake, and dashi kelp. I used Kasahara’s recipe. The recipe called for shimeji mushrooms, but my kids don’t like them, so I used shiitake mushrooms. I’d also like to eat grilled pacific saury, but no one likes it except me, so I can’t serve it. I was trying to make boiled eggs, but I was so strong that I cracked them. I’ll save that for tomorrow. Spinach. Mayonnaise, delicious vinegar, ground sesame seeds, bonito flakes, salt, pepper, and dashi soy sauce. I made a sesame mayonnaise salad with squeezed spinach. I’ll toss the boiled eggs just before serving. Onions for meat and tofu. I’ll add the small pieces to the miso soup. Today’s miso soup is nameko mushrooms. Stir-fry the beef and onion. Add water, Japanese dashi stock, sugar, sake, mirin, and soy sauce. Add the remaining shiitake mushroom. Sprinkle salt on the sanma and set aside. Slice the cucumber and rub with salt. Mix with the wakame seaweed for a vinegared dish. Delicious vinegar and soy sauce. Add sesame seeds and it’s done. Wash the sanma, drain, and grill. Add a soft-boiled egg. I was planning to put octopus in the vinegared dish, but he said, “Sashimi is good!” so I served it as is. Once the pacific saury is cooked, I remove the bones. For my son, who had a terrible experience with an eel bone stuck in his saury, I carefully removed as many small bones as possible. I thought I’d removed the bones, but it looks like some are still there. Remove the kelp and add the pacific saury. Chop the kelp into small pieces and put it back in. Perhaps thanks to my prayers for the octopus not to get stuck in his saury, my son’s throat was fine. Let’s eat, let’s eat. The saury rice was delicious. It’s also delicious if you add sudachi citrus fruit and salt to change up the flavor, and although it’s a pain to remove the bones, I’d like to make it again. I changed the cushion covers.
