日々の台所|しらすオムレツ。失敗なしの寄せるだけオムレツ😉

Itadakimasu Recipe #76 The end of the year is coming closer. Maybe because of the warm winter, it doesn’t really feel like year-end. Today is the winter solstice. I went to a shrine early this morning to pray. It’s the day with the shortest daylight of the year. From today, the days will gradually get longer. Today, I’m making a shirasu omelet. I’ll use three eggs. When the shirasu arrived, this was the first dish that came to mind. Adding shirasu to a plain omelet gives it a Japanese-style flavor. I’ll whisk the eggs. Fairly thoroughly. I’ll add a pinch of salt. After adding salt, mix again well. The only seasoning is this salt. (You could even skip it.) A simple egg dish. I really love this shirasu omelet. Now, I’ll let the eggs rest for a bit. Just leave them for about 30 minutes… After 30 minutes, I’ll add 2 tablespoons of water. You can also use cream instead of water. Lightly mix it. Alright, let’s cook the eggs. I’ll heat the pan, and add butter. Making that perfect omelet shape is a bit tricky, isn’t it? There’s a good way to make it without any risk of failing. Don’t think, “Is that really an omelet?” haha Now, I’ll pour in the eggs. It’s not scrambled eggs. Let’s peacefully call it a “shirasu egg dish.” And now, I’ll add the shirasu. Add as much as you like. This is a fail-proof omelet. An omelet you can make without tension. I want to move the eggs, but I’ll wait a bit. And then, slowly, slowly. Gently fold the eggs from the outside toward the center. It’s starting to pile up in the center. Fold from the outside toward the center. Slowly, slowly. Stop the heat around now. Too early? It’s fine. Turn off the heat and let the residual heat set the eggs. From the outside toward the center. If you flip it onto a plate, it forms a fairly nice omelet shape. But I want to show the shirasu, so I won’t flip it. I’ll shape it right on the pan. Looks good. It’s starting to look like an omelet. Huh? Isn’t this scrambled eggs? haha Let’s just call it a “shirasu egg dish.” Done! haha Time to eat. The shirasu flavor comes through perfectly. Delicious. Like this shirasu egg dish, I hope I can share simple cooking videos without any pressure. haha Shirasu omelets don’t need ketchup. Simple, easygoing… that’s my goal for the new year. Thank you for watching! Have a great day. See you next week!
