只有6间客房的小旅馆,为什么能够成为日本(松本)旅馆的代表?|金宇館 信州美ヶ原温泉

Hello everyone, this is Matsumoto Station in Nagano Prefecture, Japan. After taking photos at the station, we quickly took a taxi and left. Today we are going to a small hot spring hotel called “Kinyukan” on the outskirts of Matsumoto . This hotel was founded in 1928 and has been passed down to the fourth generation. Many top magazines in different fields have made special reports on it, and it is very famous. The entrance is a courtyard. It doesn’t look big, but it is well maintained . The hotel is not large, with only 6 guest rooms. It underwent a major renovation in 2019. The atmosphere of the fusion of old and new can be seen from the entrance. In order to have a better accommodation experience, this video was taken on the On the second day of late summer, at 5:00 PM, the setting sun shone into the inner hallway . The ticking of the old-fashioned clock, accompanied by the chirping of cicadas, echoed continuously throughout the house . Antique vault bells were placed on the walls, used to call employees . The sculptures symbolized welcome. Next to it was a small shop selling food , lacquerware, tableware , handmade slippers, and exquisite ceramic, glass, and metal tableware. The entrance led to the lounge and restaurant. The old wooden planks on the stairs and floor had been preserved at the corner. The lounge was just around the corner. Arriving at 3:00 PM, the owner was tending to the courtyard. After serving a cup of green tea, he began to work. Check in at the nearly brand-new lounge, featuring niches that change with the seasons and the owner’s wishes. A chestnut-wood corner features a coffee machine (Jura), Maruyama coffee beans, and iced water. The courtyard view changes from different angles, changing with the seasons . Although small, it’s exquisite, boasting almost all the essential elements of a Japanese garden. Across from the lounge is the restaurant , a blend of old and new, accommodating guests from six rooms at once . A few steps left from the lounge and restaurant leads to the hot springs, smoking area, and special rooms. The smoking area is on the left , and there’s no lounge available for viewing the courtyard from this angle . On the right is the hot spring, which was dug by the first owner. There is a courtyard at the entrance to the hot spring, next to the hot spring building. On the left are two public hot springs: Shadow Hot Spring and Hikari Hot Spring. On the right is the private hot spring. The outermost one is Shadow Hot Spring, with showers and a preparation area. Regular toiletries are provided. On the inside is Hikari Hot Spring, with the same infrastructure and amenities as Shadow Hot Spring. Both are used alternately by men and women. All hot springs in the hotel are 100% source water, and the hot spring water comes from the “Gomo family” source of Migahara Onsen . Opposite Hikari Hot Spring is the private hot spring, which can be used by yourself when no one is around. The preparation area has a well-designed sink and hairdryer (cado There are plenty of toiletries and towels available . The shower area features a private bath with LEAF & BOTANICS, produced by Matsuyama Oil. The hot spring is quite small, so it might be a bit cramped for larger people. At the end of the hallway is a two-story, standalone “detached” room. This is where we stayed, accommodating up to eight people. The building underwent a major renovation last year (2024) , and now it’s brand new, with the scent of chestnut wood filling the air. The entrance is decorated with a sculpture by Hideo Sawada, and the staircase and hallway floors retain their original style. A mirror donated by a nearby business when the hotel opened creates a modern Japanese home-like atmosphere in the living room. The Japanese and Nordic styles coexist, minimalist yet warm. Last year, I saw the photos of the hotel owner updating it when it was first built, and I’ve been wanting to stay here ever since. This time, I finally made it. There ‘s a chestnut dining table, a sofa that fits into the corner, and a stove for cold weather. Going out to look at the balcony and the courtyard, which was also updated with the building, much of the wooden furniture in the hotel comes from this creative carpenter. The main building and courtyard are on the other side of the balcony. The mosquito coils that the staff had lit before entering the room are now quite a bit burnt. Next, let’s see what’s inside the room. All the electrical switches in the living room are here. The light brightness is adjustable . Air conditioning (Mitsubishi Electric) . Phone number. Contact the front desk. Portable Bluetooth speakers (Beolit The mini bar is located at the entrance to the bathroom , and it’s brand new and clean. The coffee machine and coffee beans are the same as those in the hotel lounge . The kettle (Balmuda) makes daily handmade daifuku with soy and red bean fillings, which is sweet. The tap water is hot spring water, so you can drink it directly . There are also various unique little touches scattered throughout the hotel . The drinks are all free under the refrigerator. 100% apple juice and soda are available . Hot spring water (Migahara Onsen) is available from the tap. Behind the draft beer is a whole cabinet of cups, and the lighting is just right. Both the glass and ceramic cups sparkle, and there are many types of cups. A green tea bottle opener, spoon, creamer, and sugar are prepared in the jar . The extra cups are placed in a storage box designed by woodworking artist Masashi Ito. There is a large trash can next to the cabinet. The bathroom is separated by a door. The bathroom is spacious and clean, with separate wet and dry areas. The hot spring pool and shower area are plentiful. There are plenty of towels under the washing area , and the staff will replace the hair dryer in time. The large bath and the chartered hot spring use the same lotion (Hokuroku Sosui) , toner (Hokuroku Sosui), makeup remover oil (Hokuroku Sosui), hand soap (Hokuroku Sosui), and disposable toothbrush cups. Toiletries are placed in the built-in trash can on the countertop . Here’s a toothbrush (the eco-friendly ones are really hard to use 😅), facial cleanser (Marks & Web), hair band , flat comb, hairbrush , and razor. This is the only room in the hotel with a bathroom. For other rooms, you need to go to the large public bath or rent a hot spring to take a shower . The faucet on the left is used to adjust the water temperature . The bathtub is relatively small, with a top made of cypress wood and windows on both sides of the wall . The hot spring water is 100% natural. The shower area is relatively large. All personal care products in the hotel are from different series of Matsuyama Oil. The air conditioning, ventilation, and light switches in the bathroom are all located at the door. Turn left from the bathroom and you will find the toilet with a fully automatic toilet (NEOREST, TOTO). There are three bedrooms in this building, and we chose the largest one on the first floor . This room on the upper floor is called “壱.” There’s a small living room on the left and a bedroom on the right. The living room has been kept almost in its original state, with the tables, chairs, and alcoves intact. It’s very rustic. The TV is small, but it matches the wardrobe. It’s new and set in the corner . The yukata is placed here, available in two sizes. When the staff showed us the room, they saw that the clothes might not fit, so they changed our belts and socks (tassels). There’s a safe in the drawer, and underneath is an electronic mosquito repellent, just like the one in the living room. There’s also a bathroom in the room. The sink is stocked with a hair dryer, hand soap, a cup, a toothbrush, and paper towels. The toilet is next to it, and it has the same fully automatic toilet as the one outside. Next is the bedroom, which, including the small living room, has a total area of 36 square meters . There are two single beds, and the bedding is from the old Kyoto shop “IWATA”. The pillows are hard and thin, which is uncomfortable. The quilt is thin and the mattress is hard, which is not comfortable. The electrical switches in the bedroom are all on the wall at the head of the bed. The light brightness is adjustable . There is an air conditioner like the one in the living room outside. There is a socket and a bedside light switch installed on the bedside table. A flashlight and tissues are prepared underneath . There is only a socket and a bedside light switch on the other side of the bedside table. The alcove decoration in the bedroom is very interesting. There is a small desk next to it with a telephone, hot spring water, and a cup . The room key chain was designed and produced by Daisaku Maeda. Finally, there are two bedrooms on the second floor. The stairs make a sound when you walk up . If no one lives in the upstairs bedroom, it will be locked. Each bedroom has a separate key. The right one is called “弐” and the left one is called “参”. The ” 弐” bedroom is a Japanese-Western room with two 1.4-meter-wide beds , a total area of 31 square meters, and a bathroom. The “参” is a pure Japanese room, with only tatami and no beds, a total area of 28 square meters, and also a bathroom. There are some interesting things in the corridor on the second floor, including the shrine enshrined. The owner really likes Hideo Sawada’s work. Looking out from the corridor, you can see the houses in Matsumoto and the distant mountains. Matsumoto in the evening. That’s all about the room . After filming the video, I went out for a walk and saw a stray cat base nearby. There was also a sign indicating that the only hot spring hotel left here was Kinukan. I returned to the room and waited for dinner, which started at 18:30. Dinner was served in the living room. All the dishes were cooked by the owner himself. Two drink menus were given first, mainly local drinks. Of course, there are not only alcoholic drinks, but also many soft drinks. One of us chose “Kusawake”, which was sweet and sour with soda water. The other chose “Masumi” yuzu wine, which was slightly sweet. The appetizer was chawanmushi, with sea urchin on the egg, and garnished with mustard and Japanese The taste of Japanese yuzu and perilla spikes is very layered, with the tenderness of eggs, the sweetness of sea urchin, the spiciness of mustard, the fragrance of perilla flowers, and the freshness of Japanese yuzu. However, the aftertaste is a little fishy. The second dish is spring rolls. The spring rolls have a crispy skin and soft mashed potatoes inside, with Japanese green peppers, which are light and not greasy. The third dish consists of six side dishes. Roasted bell peppers with bonito flowers. The bell peppers have a slight sweetness and a crisp taste, and the bonito flowers give it a light salty and fresh taste . The seaweed is topped with minced ginger and okra, soaked in ice-cold vinegar, which is very sour and refreshing. The appetizer chicken is topped with plums and miso, and the chicken is very tender and juicy. Tempura eggplant with mayonnaise . The soft eggplant is wrapped in a crispy tempura batter. The smooth mayonnaise melts in the mouth, just enough to complement the taste of the tempura without any additional seasoning. The octopus feet are served with yellow mustard. The yellow mustard is sweet and has a strong aftertaste, which is very stimulating. The grilled hairtail with miso sauce. The hairtail skin is slightly dry and charred, but the inside is still quite moist. The rich miso sauce is paired with the lighter hairtail. The fourth dish is bowl-shaped , which is another eggplant dish. The surface is grilled bonito flakes to add flavor. The grilled eggplant in the middle is very soft and absorbs the soup, while the outside is eggplant paste, seasoned with miso, and has a thick and smooth taste. The fifth dish is horse meat sashimi . The tenderloin part is used. There is not much fat, but the meat is very delicate and tender. The satiety of horse meat is still relatively strong. It is the size of a rose and I feel a little full after eating it. Although it is paired with tea Lotus ginger and chili sauce remove the fishy smell, but later I tried it with sashimi soy sauce directly and it didn’t taste fishy either. I ordered a set of “Masumi Jet Black” in the middle of the meal. It was slightly sweet but the wine flavor was stronger than yuzu wine. The grilled dish was grilled sweetfish . The presentation was simple but not simple. The curved fish body seemed as if the fish was still swimming in the water . The tail and fins were grilled crispy and delicious. The fish meat and bones tasted salty and fresh at first, and the aftertaste was very sweet, but this sweetness also made the bitterness of the internal organs and the fish head more prominent. The seventh dish was conger eel , which was cooked first and then grilled. The heat was well controlled, the surface was charred, and the meat inside was slightly dry but not overcooked. The pickled cucumbers, tomatoes and other side dishes balanced the fat of the eel, making it fragrant but not greasy. Next was the main course, three thin slices of Shinshu Wagyu beef with rich fat, and the portion was moderate. The rice is rich in milk flavor, soft and tender in the mouth , and the fat bursts with juice in the mouth. It is paired with black pepper, myoga ginger and scallion shreds to stimulate the taste buds and reduce the greasiness. Finally, the tomato is used to relieve the greasiness. The tomato is moderately sweet and sour, with a rose aroma, which is very delicious. The staple food is rice with small sardines, myoga ginger and sansho. The spicy, salty and fresh taste is combined with the sweet and crisp pickled vegetables, which makes the taste and flavor more layered. Toothpicks are also brought together, which shows a full sense of craftsmanship. Finally, a bowl of relatively light miso soup is used to end the main course. The dessert is roasted tea ice cream sprinkled with crispy roasted tea crumbs, and the rich tea aroma is fully released in the mouth . The smooth ice cream is added with pickled lemon peel shreds, and the refreshing taste makes the tongue indulge in the tea fragrance. This dinner It’s much better than many so-called luxury inns and luxury hotels. Good morning, I’ll take a video first to ensure the video’s continuity. 😊 Breakfast is also served in the restaurant, and you can choose the time at 8:00 or 8:30. The red bowls used to serve these dishes are antiques from 1872. Later, the owner asked lacquer artist Yoshiro Ohba to restore them and maintain them every 6 months. The lotus root slices mixed with sesame oil are slightly spicy with chili peppers, and the lotus root slices are very crisp. The snow peas mixed with sesame paste have a strong sesame flavor. The pickled vegetables that go well with rice include plums, cucumbers, perilla leaves, and eggplants. They are quite salty and should be eaten with rice. The eggplants, small pumpkins, and tofu puffs are cooked in broth. The eggplants are very soft inside, and the tofu puffs are full of broth. A little mustard is added inside, and the slight stimulation is very refreshing. Tsukudani bonito and kelp, served with shredded ginger. The bonito meat is slightly firm, and you can feel the texture of the fish meat when you put it in your mouth. It is sweet and salty, which is very suitable for eating with rice . The tamagoyaki that is a frequent breakfast customer here is very sweet and has a strong egg flavor. The taste is very close to that kind of solid egg cake. After eating two pieces, the slightly sweet tofu is served with chopped green onions and sesame oil. The tofu has a moderate hardness and softness. There are salt grains under the sesame oil, but the distribution is uneven, resulting in uneven saltiness. Miso soup contains potatoes, tofu puffs and vegetables. Everything else is ordinary, but the potatoes have a glutinous texture and are very tasty. The fruits after the meal are locally produced pears and champagne pearl grapes. The pears are very sweet, and the champagne pearl grapes are even better, with a full fruity aroma, thin and crisp skin and are also very sweet. Finish with a cup of green tea Finally, let’s discuss the hotel’s pros and cons, as well as its price. For us, the biggest drawback was definitely the bedding, which was very uncomfortable . The room also retains some of its original construction, which is traditional Japanese in size. Taller guests might find it uncomfortable. The service was excellent, but the staff was so limited that some areas were unavoidable. Other than that, it was mostly positive, especially the maintenance and cleanliness, which are excellent for this price point. It’s definitely a representative hotel in Matsumoto Castle, a representative hotel in Nagano Prefecture, and a representative hotel in Japan. The above are all room prices for the hotel.
