Crabapple caramel crisp

Hey everyone, welcome back to another episode of Baking with Crab Apples. Today I think I’m going to do a caramel apple strusel. So it’s pretty much an apple pie. I’m just going to chuck some struszel on top. Start with the morning coffee and we’re going to make a patra. So there’s your butter and get some sugar in there and get some salt, some lemon zest, a little bit of vanilla, and one whole egg. Going to get our dry on top of that. And boom. Look, it’s mixed. Pop that in the fridge. It’s going to rest for a couple hours. So here I’m throwing some butter in the pan. We’re going to try and just pull the juices out of these apples so we can infuse this for later. Drop the sugar on top. A little bit of cinnamon. There you go. You pull the apples out. I think there’s enough flavor in that now. And we’re just going to reduce. You want to reduce that down into a nice thick caramel. Yeah, that looks good. You pour the cream. And that’s when you add some fluidity to it so we can actually plate this dessert afterwards. Yeah, that’s not too bad. So now we got to make a strudel topping. There’s just some oats in there. We got some coconut going in. Way too much flour. We’re going to take some of that out. A little bit of sugar and cinnamon. Just going to mix that up. Want to get it fully combined. Here I am just grating the butter in. I’m being a little lazy right now. And we’re just going to We’re just going to mix it up as fully combined as possible. You want it to be like sand. There’s that pu cray again. Just going to roll it out. Try and get a nice shape. Got to work with what you have sometimes. Hey. So, here we are just cutting it loose. blind baking so we get some structure in there before we fill it. And boom, boom, done. Back in the oven. That’s going to start the plating process. There’s that apple infused caramel. We’ll put our pie down there. Get a nice scoop of ice cream on top. More caramel cuz yum. Uh, just put some of those extra apples. I thought it looked pretty. And boom, there it
