[How to Make Shrimp Potato Salad] A New Potato Salad with Shrimp, Smoky Bacon, and Orange Flavor
Today’s recipe is for potato salad.
It’s a new twist on everyone’s favorite potato salad.
It is full of flavorful shrimp with a chewy texture, sweet orange flavor, and smoky bacon flavor.
This is a dish that goes well with beer, sake or wine, not to mention a side dish for dinner.
The shrimp is seasoned with cumin and coriander for accent.

Ingredients
340g potatoes
80g mayonnaise
(A),All the marinated onions from the recipe below
(B),All the prawns from the recipe below
60g bacon slices
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
5 shiso leaves
A pinch of orange zest (if you have it)
🔹Marinated Onion Ingredients (A),
50g onions
1/4 teaspoon salt
🔹Orange flavored prawns Ingredients (B),
1 tbsp salad oil
5p prawns
3 tablespoons orange juice (for 1 prawn)
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon cumin seed powder
1/4 teaspoon coriander powder
Pinch of black pepper
🔹How to cook
1, Recipe (A), Chop the onion, marinate with salt and keep in the refrigerator.

Squeeze all liquid from onion as much as possible
2. Peel the potatoes, cut into large dice and boil.
When cooked, mash them in a colander while they are still hot.

Chill in the refrigerator.
(If you combine them with mayonnaise while they are still hot, the mayonnaise will be cooked)
3. Recipe (B), Fry all prawns in salad oil and season with salt and pepper.
Add orange juice and spices.
Remove the cooked prawns and boil the remaining juice down to half.
Combine the juice with the prawns.

Chill in the refrigerator.
4. Chop the shiso. (Small dice size)
5. Put the fried bacon in the cold potatoes with the fat, mayonnaise, black pepper.
Add the shrimp cooking liquid and the well-squeezed onions and mix well.
Place the prawns and potatoes in a well-balanced dish.
Sprinkle orange zest using a zester, and sprinkle shiso on top.
🔹Cooking Tips
Onions should be prepared first.
Taking time to marinate them with salt will make them less pungent and more delicious.
You can also prepare the onions the day before.
Mash the potatoes while they are still warm from boiling.
If you mash the potatoes after they have cooled, the starch will harden and you will end up with a potato salad with a sticky texture.
Be careful not to overcook the prawns.
If they are overcooked, they will lose their plumpness.
