In Karatsu City’s Wadada area, there is a shop serving onigiri made with rice grown by the owner’s grandparents.
“Onigiri Musubi” is a takeout specialty shop that opened in April 2026. Located on the first floor of Karatsu Mall “karamo,” the shop offers a variety of onigiri, with 10 regular varieties plus daily specials.

The selection includes “Chicken Soboro,” a popular choice for children, and “Ra-yu Kelp,” one of the owner’s personal recommendations. The shop also offers meal sets that include two onigiri, tamagoyaki, fried chicken, and miso soup.
The rice used at the shop is grown by the owner’s grandparents.

The shop was opened with the hope of sharing their rice with as many people as possible.
The nori is served separately so customers can enjoy its crisp texture and aroma. From the ingredients to the way each onigiri is served, careful attention goes into every detail. Since the shop closes once the rice runs out, customers often visit early in the day.

The name “Musubi” expresses gratitude for the connections made with others, as well as a wish to create new connections from here.
Through rice passed down from the owner’s grandparents, this is an onigiri shop filled with a desire to bring people together.
