⬇️⬇️ RECIPE INGREDIENTS ⬇️⬇️
• 2 Sub Rolls
• 3 Johnsonville Italian Mild Hot Sausage Links
• 1 Cup of Tomato Sauce or Marinara Sauce
• 1 10 oz. Can of Mild Diced Tomatoes with Green Chilies
• 1/4 to 1/2 Green Pepper – Sliced
• 1/4 to 1/2 Red Pepper – Sliced
• 1 Medium Size Yellow Onion – Sliced
• 1 Cup of Mozzarella Cheese – Shredded
• 1 Cup of Parmesan Cheese – Grated
• 1 TBSP of Minced Garlic
• Salt, Black Pepper, Red Pepper Flakes, Garlic Powder, Oregano and Basil to Taste
• Oil for the Pan
👉Cooking Instructions:
• In an oiled cast iron skillet over medium heat, sauté the onions and peppers with minced garlic until done to your liking, then move them to one side of the pan. Add more oil if needed, then add the Italian hot sausage to the pan and brown and cook the sausage until it reaches 160°F – 170°F or is done to your liking. Next, place the lightly toasted sub rolls on an oven-safe pan or a cast iron pizza pan or griddle; add the cooked sausages, fried peppers, and onions on top; add the mozzarella cheese, tomato sauce, and some grated Parmesan cheese on top; and bake them in the oven for about 10 minutes until the cheese melts and the buns are lightly toasted and you’re done. Served topped with some oregano.
