    今週の動画は、わらび餅です。材料を鍋に入れて温めたらもうおしまい!とっても簡単にできる和のスイーツです。冷蔵庫に入れると固くなってしまうので、できたら冷蔵庫などでは冷やさずになるべく早めに食べると良いと思います。 

    【材料 5人分】

    わらび餅粉 100g
    甘味料 80g
    水 400g

    きな粉 40g
    甘味料 大さじ1

    【作り方】
    《1》わらび餅粉、甘味料、水を鍋に入れて混ぜ合わせ、透明になるまで火にかける。
    《2》型に移して冷めるまで置いておく。
    《3》切り分けたわらび餅にきな粉と甘味料を混ぜたものをまぶす。

    【VEGGIE DISHES #47】
    This week’s video is “Warabi mochi”. Warabi mochi has chewy but soft texture. It is quite hard to find real warabi powder even in Japan, so you can substitute warabi mochi powder with any kind of starch powder such as tapioca and corn starch.

    【INGREDIENTS makes 5】

    100g warabi mochi powder
    80g sweetener
    400g water

    40g kinako powder
    1 tbsp sweetener

    【INSTRUCTION】
    1. Put warabi mochi powder, sweetener and water into a pot. Heat it on low until it is clear.
    2. Leave it until it cools down.
    3. Mix kinako powder and sweetener then cut the warabimochi and coat with kinako.

    5. I know that my gift isn't in cooking but still I thought I can manage ok, eg. at least I can make dishes following guidance.
      Now I tried this using an electric stove – low heat. That was a mistake. It should have been medium low heat. I stirred the mixture so many hours literally my eyes were closed and dozed off (it was nearly midnight). The next day, finally I confirmed that I undercooked the mixture as it was stuck to the dish. The bitterness that I felt when I threw it away made me officially incompetent in cooking. How disappointing it seems very simple and straightforward. But nevertheless, I will try this again in the future. I will reduce the amount of sweetener though. It was too sweet to my taste.

    6. Is sweetener the same as sugar? Can I use castor sugar or icing sugar? Thank you for this amazing tutorial! Best I've seen.
