Hi, I’m Mash, this is Aya. Good morning, good evening, good evening, and welcome to MASHAYA’s year-end radio show! It’s been a while since I’ve done radio. The video is on the screen now, but Japanese people can enjoy this radio only with audio.

If you are not Japanese, please turn on the subtitles, as we have added subtitles in many languages. This is the 18th radio show. It’s been a year. It’s been since I did radio at the end of 2020. Year-end radio is an annual thing.

We’ve had a lot of people asking us to do a radio show. We’d like to do it very much. But it’s very difficult to put subtitles on the radio because it’s made up entirely of voices.

First of all, you have to write out all the spoken Japanese in characters. It takes more time than editing. The people who watch our YOUTUBE are not only Japanese, so we need subtitles for the radio as well.

But adding subtitles to all the radios would take a lot of time, so I was wondering if I should do radio regularly, and a year has passed since then (laughs)

But I decided to do a special radio show at the end of the year, because it’s better to talk about the year in words! I’ve written lots of notes today because I want to talk about many things. I’ve written

It’s the end of the year when I’m filming this radio, and I’d like to tell you what the end of the year is like in France! What do you think Aya? Do you mean in our France? Or do you mean the French people?

We are now living in Paris, France. Christmas in France is similar to the way we spend the end of the year and New Year in Japan. People in France spend Christmas with their families. The collar of my dress was crooked. In Japan, Christmas is a time like one event (lover and family)

People in France enjoy family time by having a family gathering and party at midnight on the 24th!

The French have a good party on the last day of work before Christmas! and say goodbye to each other. It’s very similar to the Japanese way of saying “Have a good New Year! at the end of the year in Japan. Have a good party! or “Have a great year! or “Happy New Year!

The first day of work in France is much earlier than in Japan. I think they already started working on January 2nd. It’s very different from Japan. Christmas is more important in France, so stores and big supermarkets close early or not open on 24th and 25th. Basically, stores are closed on these days.

And a lot of people are going home from Paris, so Paris is a little quiet. Everyone is going back to their parents’ home. I guess this is what Christmas and the end of the year in France is like.

For those of you in Japan who are listening to this radio now, the end of the year is in full swing now. In Japan, we go back to our parents’ home on January 1st to have dinner with all the family and greet the New Year.

And the children have an event where they can get congratulatory money from their relatives and grandparents. That’s the best (laughs) I loved January 1st. (laughs) I loved it as a kid! That determines your allowance for the year. Yes, it does.

The more relatives you have, the more chances you have to get a lot. Right (laughs). What are the New Year’s events for people outside of Japan? I think in some countries Christmas is the main event, and in others it is not. I’m very curious to know how everyone is spending their time.

In Korea and China, the first event of the year is held in February, which is a little different from Japan. Japan has a simple year-end and New Year’s celebration that ends in December and begins in January. In Japan, the end of the year is also… It’s difficult… (laughs)

I was talking about the various ways to spend the end of the year, like in Japan and France. It depends on the country. And we hit 70,000 registered users around Christmas time! Thank you all so much! I did a radio show a year ago and they said they were at 10,000 people

And in the past year we’ve grown by 60,000! During the COVID period, we really saw an increase in the number of people who signed up! COVID was 2 years ago… (laughs) We’re very happy.

When I look back on the past year, the biggest thing is that the number of registered users has reached 70,000. That’s an easy change to understand. I really wanted to get to 100,000! Our goal was 100,000. We didn’t reach 100,000, but we’re really happy with 70,000! I can’t imagine 70,000 people is too many!

There are so many people from so many different countries who have subscribed to this channel. Thank you so much! Now, let’s take a look back at 2021. I’m planning to make this an annual event. How did Mash do in 2012?

In 2020, VLOGs (Vlogs) about living every day with care were popular, so more videos with the same vibe were influenced by that. And this year, there were a lot of big project things, and the channel changed a lot!

And I think I shot a lot of videos of antique things and flea markets, which I originally liked. I think I took a lot of pictures. When I started TOUTUBE, I didn’t upload many videos that involved French people! You also didn’t speak the language as well as you do now. That’s right.

But in 2021, you released a video where you went to Arnold’s studio to interview him. Is it around April? It was so much fun! I was so happy. And next we went to cover Balbosté! Balbosté is a company founded by a Frenchman and a Japanese, and both Mash and Aya often work together there!

That’s when people other than MashAya started to appear in the videos. It’s like an interview video. Sometimes they appear in our VLOGs a little bit, and other times we planned and shot the videos properly. Among them, the trip to Bourgogne in collaboration with Mercian (a Japanese wine company) was a very big project!

It was a very long time work, wasn’t it? It was probably in April when Taku approached me. France was still in lockdown at that time. The restaurants were not open yet. It was probably that time of the year. It started then, and it ended in November. It was a six-month project.

I think there was a notation in the Bourgogne trip video that there was a promotion. That was our first big corporate deal. We tried not to ruin the atmosphere of our channel, so that people who watch us all the time wouldn’t feel weird.

As a result, I made a lot of appearances of TAKU and ANIKI (laughs). We’re living in France, after all (Aya misspoke and Mash laughed) We wanted to get involved with the French people and tell them a little bit about France if we had the chance.

Because of the collaboration with Mercian, I was able to tell everyone about French wine! We’ve never been to a winery before! We’re basically inactive [laughs]. We’re very slow. We don’t go willingly (laughs) I’ve had so many good opportunities. It’s been a very good experience.

I used to decide only Mash and Aya when I make a video. This trip to Bourgogne was a collaboration, so I had to listen to the other person’s request and give 0K to both of them.

However, the finished video had to be something that everyone could enjoy, so I learned a lot about balance. I’m really glad that my first collaboration was with Mercian! They were very considerate of our channel. You were able to fulfill most of our requests. I think it’s really hard to collaborate with a company

When I think back to the time when I was a company employee in Japan, I understand how difficult it is. This is a behind-the-scenes story, but we really had a lot of communication going on in places you can’t see in the video. It was tough. It’s all been a good experience.

There are many people involved in the Bourgogne trip. Not only TAKU and ANIKI, but also people from Mercian and Maison Albert Bichot. The people at Maison Albert Bichot have been very nice to us outside of the video and have tried to take us to more places. We didn’t have time to go.

Our schedule was packed, and we were both at the limit of our strength… (laughs) We’re not that strong. It was difficult to show everything, but I think I was able to create a good balance in the video. If you haven’t seen the Bourgogne journey yet, please do so. It’s a series of five videos.

Even if you are not interested in wine, you can enjoy the atmosphere because it is a VLOG. It’s like a video of us interacting with French people. Other events. The lockdown started around October 2020, and the restaurant finally reopened around June 2021.

And now that the restaurant has reopened, I’ve uploaded a video of us going there for lunch, our eyes were shining… (laughs) It was so much fun and we were so happy! And we’ve been eating out more this year. And the current series, “Cafe Tour,” was born as a reaction to the lockdown (laughs).

110 00:16:59,118 –> 00:17:59,191 Anyway, I went to a lot of places I wanted to go, and also places I found by chance. And I started to eat a lot of hamburgers. 112 00:17:15,934 –> 00:17:22,041 You wanted to say it so badly that you wrote it down (laughs)

I cut about 40 inches off my hair after growing it out for four years! You cut more after that, right? (laughs) And after that, they went back to Japan once in August. They went back to Japan for the first time in about two years.

I really wanted to shoot some VLOGs in Japan, but it was difficult because of the worsening COVID situation! At that time in Japan, there was no hotel quarantine after returning home, so we went directly from the airport to my parents’ house and stayed there for two weeks.

At home, you had to check your symptoms every day using the application. After two weeks of quarantine, I was able to move, but not for many days. When I was in quarantine at home, I couldn’t go outside at all, but it was very good for me.

I was always sick when I came back to Japan temporarily, but this time I was very healthy! I knew it was not a good idea to pack too much into my schedule. Mash was the opposite. Yes, it was.

Mash didn’t get over the jet lag because he didn’t have any plans, I think it was a week before he went back to Paris. I could only sleep for about 4 hours every day, it was very hard. I tried to sleep according to Japan time, so maybe it was hard for me.

Yes, it would have been better if I hadn’t gone against the flow. I did that, didn’t I? Mash had some work to do in Japan, so I had to adjust my time. Yes, that’s right. I reported that I was going back to Japan, and they contacted me to offer me a job since then!

I think all I’ve done in Japan this time is isolation and work. I’ve only met Aya twice in Japan. 133 00:19:35,574 –> 00:19:53,959 My parents hadn’t gotten the vaccine yet, so I didn’t see Mash, who was supposed to meet someone for work. We met each other’s parents only at the airport.

We also went to Aya’s parents’ house for about 10 minutes to see them. We usually have dinner with each other’s family, but it was difficult this time. During the quarantine, I was in online contact with Mash and working on YOUTUBE. You did that many times.

When I stayed at home all the time and interacted with people only online, the feeling in my heart was the same as when I was at home in Paris. I didn’t feel like I was back in Japan, so I realized again how important it is to go out and see the scenery and meet people!

I’ve often heard that it’s not good to stay at home all the time and that it’s better to go outside, but I felt that this is really true. I didn’t feel much different from when I was at home in Paris. After the quarantine, did you go out and do a little shopping?

I had a great time shopping! I had a TAPIOKA drink! The trend of TAPIOKA drink was already gone… (laughs) A lot of stores were going out of business in Japan! Did you discover anything after being back in Japan for a long time? There were so many!

This time I went back to Japan in the summer of August. I was so happy because I love Japanese summer so much! Summer in Japan is very emotional. The summer in Japan was very emotional, a feeling that is not present in the French summer. I have a lot of memories of summer in Japan.

It was very soothing. Now if only we could have gone to the beach, that would have been even better! I had planned to go to the beach for a while, but I gave up because the COVID situation in Japan was starting to get worse.

149 00:22:28,680 –> 00:22:38,190 First of all, Mash and I couldn’t work together for many days, so it was impossible in the end. It was difficult this time because of the danger of going back to my parents’ house afterwards. I stayed at home most of the time, except for shopping around the neighborhood.

Mash had some overnight jobs. That was a good experience, too. It was a pity that the two of us couldn’t go anywhere together. But our dreams have grown.

I’ve got a lot of things I want to do in Japan now that I’m back home, so I hope to be more active once COVID is over! Anyway, I want to go to the beach!

Mash used to go out in the city or near his parents’ house after 2 weeks of isolation at home. But when I was in my hometown, my heart was a little depressed. You said it!

I have a lot of memories in my hometown from when I was little, so I remembered a lot of hard times and felt a little uncomfortable in my hometown! My parents’ home is good, but I didn’t like my hometown because I felt like I was still there when I had a hard time.

When can I overcome these feelings? I’m not overcoming them. Will it take time for me to stop worrying about going to my hometown? I need more time. I really enjoyed going to the center of Osaka because I have many good memories with Aya. I didn’t get to see many of my friends, so that was disappointing.

That’s what I thought when I came back to Japan this time. Whenever I go back to Japan, I always have a lot of plans and don’t stay in my hometown much, so I didn’t notice it.

I felt a lot of home this time. And it was really nice to stay at my parents’ house a lot! I was able to spend a lot of time with my family. I even cooked for them. I think it was a rare time for me at my age.

I think even people who live in Japan and leave their parents’ home rarely spend two weeks at home. It’s about New Year. I think I spent a lot more time with my parents than people who are away from home in Japan. Yes, I did. It was fun. I also had a good time at home.

I realized how many things I can do in Japan! That’s what we felt when we came back to Japan. And here’s the rest… We went to a lot of flea markets, which I love. First of all, right after the new year, Mash found his favorite pot that he’s been looking for!

After that, we went to many flea markets and bought many things. What are you going to do with so many things? (laughs) At first we bought them just for ourselves, but now we are buying them to share at MashAya events! I haven’t decided how yet.

Our channel is very popular for its flea market videos, and we were wondering if we could organize some kind of event where people could buy or give away antique items. That’s when we started to collect more than just our own items.

Of course, we buy them for ourselves, but we’re also thinking about giving them away or selling them at an event we’ll hold someday. I’m thinking that it would be nice to be able to deliver products to the people who want them.

I’d also like to be able to send someone the story of how MashAya bought the product. I don’t know if I’ll be able to hold it, but I want to hold a MashAya flea market someday, and I’m collecting items little by little for that. So the storage is not beautiful (laughs).

I’m doing a video called “Room Tour” this year, so if you watch that video, you’ll see what a house without storage looks like. We have a small basement storage so we can put things there, but basically we store things there that we don’t use all the time.

When I went back to Japan this time, I brought back a few plates as souvenirs for my family and they were very happy! I thought my mother liked the plates. My mom was more happy than my age. When I came to Paris, I wasn’t really interested in dishes either.

My taste has changed a lot in the five years since I came to Paris. I’ve changed and I’ve been refined. I’ve changed what catches my eye! It’s changed. I guess.

But I think that a third of this change has to do with coming to Paris, a third with changing my taste, and the last third with living with Aya. I see. We started living together when we came to Paris. That’s right. That’s right.

I’ve been saying “kawaii” a lot since Aya and I started living together. That’s right. After all, I’m attracted to the positive aspects of others. I am influenced by them. When two people live together, their completeness is mixed with each other. It’s a good thing.

We absorb the other’s sensibilities in a good way. I am influenced by Mash’s sensibility in photography and video! It has a very good influence on the work I make. It’s very good. And we have a lot of good influences from Japanese people living in Paris, and French people…

Yes, about a quarter of the influence comes from the people who live in Paris. If I had been living in Japan, I would not have noticed many things. That’s very fun, isn’t it? Yes, it’s a lot of fun. It wasn’t a forced change in feeling, it was a natural change.

If you compare our first video with the current one, you will discover a great difference. We’ve been doing YouTube for 3 years now. Even in those three years, we have changed so much. I am a little embarrassed when I look at our old videos.

I feel the change very much. It’s embarrassing and funny. My hobbies and what I like to do have changed, but the way I take videos has also changed. My shooting skills have also grown. That’s right. So, you can see the growth of a person on YouTube. That’s another fun part.

So you can see us grow as we are. I still have a lot to say about the 2021 look back. There’s a YouTube channel called “ONYVA. ONYVA is a company that offers virtual and online tours of France. It’s run by NAKAMURA and KO.

The other day, they invited Mash and Aya to the live streaming of their “ONYVA” channel as guests. What a surprise, we did that live stream for 7 hours. It was a very, very long time, lol. We really talked a lot for 7 hours! At that time, I got a message from KO’s friend.

When that friend was depressed with COVID, she saw our video. The video was about making Japanese sweets with French flour. He saw the video and his heart was saved. The dark feeling he had at that time seemed to have eased up.

He messaged KO to tell him that if he wants to meet Mash and Aya, he should tell them that he feels much better. We got that message and thank you from KO We didn’t make that video because we thought it would cheer anyone up, we made it because it was funny.

We simply made a video about how we could make Japanese sweets with French flour. When I heard that message from KO’s friend, I thought of this. I thought, “I don’t know what kind of video, what kind of expression will move people, or save people.

But I realized that expressing something, communicating something, is really important. It’s very important to know that you might be able to save someone. So I wanted to continue expressing and creating. That was a very good episode.

And I’m really glad that you were able to tell him about it. It made me happy. It’s not easy for people to tell you what they are thinking. I agree. Especially for YouTubers, it’s hard to hear what the viewers think.

For example, even if a video is viewed 10,000 times, there are only a few dozen comments. Only a few dozen people per 10,000 will write comments. I don’t know what the rest of the people are thinking when they watch the video.

So, it’s very nice to hear comments and feedback, and it’s very important. There are very few things that we have communicated too. Music, art, cartoons, TV, books, and many other things have helped us. But I’ve never told the creator that I was saved. That’s right.

But I used to send a fan letter to my favorite cartoonist every week, when Aya was a kid. She’s so cute. lol That’s cute. lol It’s so cute. It’s nice to get weekly fan letters from elementary school girls. Every week I used to send a fan letter to my favorite manga artist.

I also asked him questions that he would never tell me, like “Can you tell me how the story ends?” lol I’m sure she received many similar fan letters from children.

When I think about it as an adult, I feel that it’s cute and wonderful that elementary school students are trying their best to write and send letters. Getting illustrations and letters from children makes me feel very happy. Yes, we did that this year, didn’t we?

This year, we did a giveaway of original postcards of Mash’s photos. We did it! At that time I made an entry form for the postcard giveaway. I made it so that anyone in the world can apply. In the last column, there is a box to send a message to Mash and Aya.

Then I got many nice messages from people. That’s right. I was so surprised. Every morning we received a message and we were so touched to read the message. The message is very kind. You are very kind. Yes, that’s what I want to tell everyone.

I’ve been sending fan letters and applying for projects, and I’ve been sending messages as well. However, I thought that the management didn’t see the messages that way. I thought that they didn’t get the message.

But this time, I thought, we are in the position of management. I am very happy. And I’ve read all the messages. Thank you very much. I’m very happy. The feelings of all of us are being felt by us. So we really wanted to reply to all of you. I’m sorry.

It was very difficult to make all of the replies. It was difficult because of the language difference. A lot of people from outside Japan applied. I think I got about two winners from outside Japan. I don’t remember which country. Taiwan? Netherlands? But I heard that they didn’t get one.

So if you won but didn’t receive it, it might have been lost somewhere since it’s international mail. I also did a postcard giveaway project, didn’t I? I’ve done a lot of things this year. Yes, I did. I had a lot of fun with the giveaway. Yes, I did.

After all, I was able to communicate with all the viewers and fans, so it was good. Usually, we are the ones who send out the information. It’s good to have events like live concerts and gift-giving events so that we can communicate with you. I’d like to have more opportunities like this next year.

And I’ve been very busy with Mash this year. So I couldn’t do much planning. I’ve been really busy since the summer. That’s right. It was about before I went to Japan, so maybe in June. I was so busy from May to December that I didn’t have a break.

I’m very grateful for that. Thank you very much. I’ve had a lot of job offers from people who found out about Mash on YouTube. And the number of jobs that we had originally increased. I’m a photographer. I’m getting so much more work shooting video. Thank you. You’ve learned a lot.

Yes, you are right. I’ve grown a lot in the past year. You have more equipment for shooting. Yes, I have. I bought a lot of equipment in Japan and came back. So I would like to report to you what kind of work I did.

I hope I can use YouTube’s posting function to introduce it again. If you’d like to request Mash to do some filming, please message me. I accept messages on Instagram and Twitter. I’ve been getting more and more inquiries lately. Thank you very much. I’m glad you’ve been busy this year.

But I don’t know if I will have lots of work next year. I don’t know what will happen, lol. Maybe next year I’ll have to work a lot less… lol Well, freelancing is not an option. You never know what the future holds. So it’s difficult to find a balance between YouTube and work.

I have to think about the balance. And you have to take care of your health. Let’s move on to work and take care of our health. So in the second half of this year, I was so busy that I posted videos less frequently. Less than usual, about one video per week.

If you start posting more often on YouTube, Mash, consider your work reduced. lol No!!! (lol) What if I posted every day? Mash is very bored. lol Then people would watch a lot of videos, lol. If it’s one video a month, Mash is going to be very busy, lol.

Aya has been going with Mash to more and more of his shoots lately. That’s right. I’ve been taking more and more photos with Aya. Mash concentrates on shooting. Aya assists her and works with Mash on the content and ideas for the shoot. Mash and Aya will be working together more often.

They work together. Aya, you’ve done a lot more than just Youtube this year. I drew a lot of manga this year. I’ve been drawing manga for a long time, but this year I bought an ipad pro, so I have even more opportunities to draw manga. I’ve started drawing very much.

The ipad pro is so handy for drawing comics!!! I should have bought one sooner, lol. Aya was drawing and illustrating a lot before that. Yes, she did. But after I bought an ipad pro, I started to draw manga seriously. Now that I draw a lot of manga, my days are even more fun.

It’s the best! I hope I can show Aya’s manga to the viewers someday. I guess so~. But Aya also did a few illustration and portrait jobs this year. You also drew illustrations for “ONYVA” that I mentioned earlier. I drew an illustration of a castle.

KO is a very nice person and asked Aya to do some work for him. He is really kind. I’m impressed. He is really a wonderful senior. Mash has also helped me a lot from KO, offering me jobs and referrals. If you are interested in France, please check out “ONYVA

If you are interested in France, check out ONYVA. (If you are interested in France, check out ONYVA.) And NAKAMURA will be your guide. He is the official guide of the French government, so he is very nice. Please check it out if you are interested.

So, is this the end of the 2021 Minoru husband review? Yes, there’s more to come, but… It’s going to be longer, so let’s end it. So, on the other hand, do you have a favorite video, a favorite video, or a most memorable video from MashAyaVideo?

If you have a favorite video, please leave a comment. I’m looking forward to it. I’m glad. I’m looking forward to it. What’s the most memorable thing about this year? Mash’s most memorable moment was… My most memorable trip to Bourgogne! And Arnold’s studio tour is very impressive!

When I think about it, COVID is not that impressive! That’s right. COVID has been going on for about two years now. It’s become a routine. That’s right. I’m getting used to it. Well, there are many opinions, so this is our decision. We’ve been vaccinated.

I feel less anxious since I got the vaccine. I feel much better now. I’m a little relieved because I heard that the vaccine has the effect of making the disease less serious. Infection is scary. But I used to have a fear that I might die if I got infected.

But after the vaccination, that fear has lessened a little. I see hope that it won’t be serious. I feel much better now. That’s right. No matter how many anti-infection measures I took, I couldn’t reduce the probability of infection to zero.

So, no matter how careful I was, I had the fear of dying. It was very scary. But after the vaccination, I felt much better because I was able to reduce my chances of dying even more. And I’m doing everything I can personally to prevent infection.

That’s right. So I felt a little bit better this year. Well, I think the atmosphere and the way of thinking is different between France and Japan and other countries. That’s right. It’s different. But France recently had about 180,000 people infected in one day. That’s a really large number of infected people.

Also, the number of infected people in France is increasing rapidly, so we have to be really careful. We have to be careful! (Mash is laughing as he misspoke) I don’t know if it’s a new strain, but it’s increasing. So, let’s all be careful! Take precautions against infection! So let’s all be careful!

That’s it. That’s what impressed me. And… Ah! What was my memorable moment? What’s the most memorable thing about Aya? I guess it’s my turn. Aya hasn’t told us yet. What impressed you the most? That I went back to Japan. It has nothing to do with YouTube. lol

I really liked Japan in summer. I don’t want to go back to Japan in summer. I’m going back. Shall we go back separately? Yes, I do. Let’s work hard for that! Let’s work remotely! I want to feel the four seasons of Japan.

I would like to go back in spring. Spring is good, too! Autumn in October or so is good too. The timing from summer to autumn is also good. Yes, the end of summer is good.

If the quarantine and other restrictions are relaxed at the end of next summer, let’s go back. A fan meeting would be nice. I want to go to a festival. Festivals are in summer. Aya was impressed with Japan in summer.

We talked a lot. Finally, let’s talk about your goals and what you want to do next year. The end and beginning of the year is a good time to start. It’s good to set goals at the end and beginning of every year.

A good beginning. Things I want to do in the next year, goals. I want to study French next year. Yes, this is the first time that Aya says she wants to study French. Mash says it every year, but he hasn’t been able to study it.

Aya has lots of motivation this time. Yes, she is. It’s a pity that I can’t speak French even though I’m in France. It’s not good that I can’t speak French in the future. I’m often asked what kind of French I can improve in I think it’s the environment after all.

If you put yourself in a situation where you have to use it, you have to study it. We live in France, and we have a good environment. However, since we live among Japanese people, we can’t speak French naturally. So, I’m going to create an environment where I can speak French myself!

And I want to improve my French level! I want to work hard so that next year I can say that my French has grown. I think my French level has stagnated for about 3 years. I can live with my current level, so I’ve been spoiled!

That’s right. So our level of French is falling more and more. So I want to study French and if I can, I want to study English too. Excellent! I want to do it (wish) I wish I could do it (prayer) It would be wonderful if I could speak English too.

I wish I could speak English too. Yes, I do. Do you have any other YouTube goals or things you want to do? YouTube is… Original video by MashAyaVideo… More original and high quality… And videos that we enjoy more and more of ourselves…

I’d like to leave a nice video that we can leave in the future. That’s right. Is that the end? That’s it? I don’t have any concrete ideas yet, but… Mash was too busy this year to do much input. You’re talking about Youtube, right?

Do you want to give input and then output on the new YouTube? Did you do something like a new challenge, not the same kind of shooting you’ve been doing or something like that? Yes, but… But I’m having trouble with it. YouTube is happy with just us, and even if we make a video…

No, I mean making videos for our own amusement once in a while. Yes, but… After all, what everyone wants to see is important We also need the number of views.

When you think about it, it’s still important to have a balance between videos that people want to watch and videos that get more views. So I think it’s good to do my output not only on YouTube, but also in a little bit different places. Yes, that’s right. It’s good to separate them.

I think it’s also important to separate your own work from YouTube. On YouTube, it’s good to have videos that people want to watch, and that we also enjoy very much. It’s important to have videos that we and everyone else can enjoy, and I want to make a lot of those videos.

Of course we had a lot of fun with the videos so far. The flea market video is also very fun. I also enjoyed the video of staying at Hôtel de Crillon. It was a very good experience. So I think it would be nice to have a video of going somewhere like that.

I’d like to go to more regions in France. I’d like to go to Rome, Italy. Recently, Aya likes Rome. I like ruins. Aya wants to go to the ruins. I want to go on a trip. I want to go to a castle. It would be nice to visit castles in France, like Versailles.

Yes, I’d like to take a drone and take aerial photos. If I can get permission. I would like to go to the castle, whether I make a video or not. I would love to go see that beautiful building in France. I had a lot of chances to go to the provinces this year.

You went to bourgogne and Bordeaux. It’s expensive, but you can easily go to the provinces, maybe for two nights. So, I would like to travel and visit flea markets. Yes, that’s right. There are many things I want to do. And if it’s not YouTube…

I’ve been very busy this year, so I haven’t been able to do much in the way of new expressions or personal challenges like Korea! Next year, I’d like to try something new. As I mentioned earlier, I’ve been working a lot more on video.

I used to be a photographer, but now I’m a photo-videoographer. I have a lot more video work than photography now. I’m very grateful for that. I used to work only with photos. But there was a time when all I did was photography and I was tired of the photography thing.

That had made it impossible for me to go beyond my own level of photography. That’s when I started working with video. I was able to do a lot of things with video that I couldn’t do with photos, and it cleared up a lot of stress.

I’ve done a lot of video in the last 3.4 years. I was moved by the many expressions that video can express that photos can’t. Recently, however, I have found many things in videos that are not beyond my level.

Then, in turn, I noticed a lot of things that can only be expressed in photographs. I wanted to take pictures very much. I found a possibility to photography. It’s an awareness. Now it’s the other way around. I’ve found a good balance between photo and video.

My photo and video techniques, expressions and thoughts are stimulating each other. It’s a good synergy. So next year I would like to take more pictures. I’m going back to my roots. Oh, I think I might be able to make a photo album of Mash. I wonder if I can make it? (lol)

But challenges are important, aren’t they? It’s also important to create with a theme or constraint. Yes, it would be nice if we could present our activities and works outside of YouTube. It would be nice to make a postcard or a book. I’ve always loved portraits and street photography.

Maybe when I take pictures now, I feel like I can take something different from what I used to do. I take a lot of pictures at work. However, the distance between myself and the photos has opened up more than the time when I was taking the most photos.

I want to take pictures especially for expression and as a photo artist. If I work hard at it, I think it will lead me to work again. I’d like to do more next year. But I will need more time. So it’s very important to balance the time between work, YouTube, and making art.

You’ve been busy this year, so I guess you know how to balance your time better than before. I’ve learned a lot this year, and I’m trying to make the most of it. But I’m a freelancer, so I can’t say no to any job you ask me to do, lol.

I don’t know when I’ll run out of work, lol. I still want to take on a lot of work and grow. Yes, that enthusiasm is important. Yes, it is. I forgot to say that. With COVID, I think it was very difficult to come to Paris from Japan for two years.

However, several of our viewers traveled to Paris from Japan. I was happy to receive requests for filming from those people. I had a lot of fun with portraits and commemorative photos. Yes, it was. I was very happy. I was also happy to meet the viewers. That was fun.

As I said, it’s very interesting to meet people who you wouldn’t normally meet. Yes, I agree. The viewers know a world that we don’t know, so it’s wonderful to hear such stories. Because of YouTube, I was able to meet a lot of people.

Even if it’s the first time we meet, the viewers know us so well that it’s as if we are meeting friends. We get to know each other quickly and have a good conversation. You’ve made acquaintances and friends from many different places. Yes, I have.

It was a year when I realized that people enrich our lives. People are our assets. I really think so. So I want to meet more and more people next year. It’s not easy because of COVID… but as much as possible.

But meeting people is difficult. There are people who attack us. There are also bad people. We have to protect ourselves so that we don’t meet those people. So it’s not that we should meet a lot of anyone. There are bad people and there are good people.

And I feel that the influence of people is a tremendous power. Yes, that’s true. I think I might be influencing the people who are watching MashAyaVideo. I don’t know if it’s a good influence or a bad influence, but…

519 00:57:09,993 –> 00:57:13,696 I hope it’s good to continue to think about doing an English Y term. Yes, some people were saved by a video of making Japanese pastries with French flour, so I don’t know what is influencing them.

We live in France, and we would like to share about France through MashAyaVideo on YouTube. 522 00:57:40,890 –> 00:57:47,797 I hope it will be useful to someone. And I hope it can help someone to heal. And we mustn’t forget one thing. I’m really, really grateful to Paris, France. Thank you very much.

I really think so. Thank you so much! France, Paris has been helping me a lot. The more I live here, the more I like France. Of course, there are lots and lots of bad things about France and Paris! There are also a lot of hard things.

In both France and Japan, countries are like people. There are good points and bad points. There are also affinities. Yes, there is. People who like France and found MashAyaVideo Maybe you found MashAyaVideo and now you love France! But I think both France and MashAya are very important for this channel.

For us, France is also an important brand strength! And then there is the Japanese brand. Thank you Japan and thank you France. One more interesting thing The comments on YouTube recently got an automatic translation function. It’s a great way to get to know the meaning of a language you don’t know.

And our videos have subtitles in many languages. So you can read the comments from people all over the world. It’s very interesting too!

For example, I read a comment from a Japanese person who said, “Mash, you bought a wonderful plate this time! It’s wonderful”. It was in Japanese, so I understood it right away.

And when I translated the comment below from a person in a different country, it said, “That’s a cute plate. You made a good purchase” was the same comment.

It made me very happy to feel that not only Japanese people but people all over the world feel the same way and have the same sensitivity.

Of course, cultures and ways of thinking differ from country to country, race to race, and person to person. But I’m glad to realize that we are all human. We are all connected. So, please try to read the comments from other countries with the translation function. It will be interesting.

And for those of you who don’t speak Japanese, there are a lot of Japanese comments in the comments section, but if you’d like, you can use the translation function to translate and read them. I think it’s fun.

I think that Paris, France is a country that is popular with the world and easily attracts attention. I think people who watch our videos find it a little interesting that a Japanese person is giving them information about Paris. I noticed it when I read your comment.

I hope Japanese people enjoy reading those comments. That’s one way to have fun! You can have international exchange in the comment section too. It would be interesting to use MashAyaVideo as an opportunity to interact. Have fun with it!

And to all non-Japanese. I can’t always add subtitles to the live stream. Sorry about that.

Of course it’s difficult to add subtitles in real time. It is very difficult to add subtitles in real time, and even after the delivery, it is very difficult to add subtitles to a 3 hour video, both in time and physically.

I’m sorry. If we had more money, we might be able to hire someone to do the subtitling for us. It’s not possible right now. So I’ll try to do more. I’ll continue to add subtitles to my regular videos! And Aya, is there anything else you want to do next year?

Yes, I do. I drew a manga this year too. I hope to draw more comics next year. I can’t show everyone my manga right now, but I hope to show them my manga someday when it takes shape. I guess so. I’ll be drawing more comics next year. I’m looking forward to it.

I hope next year will be a healthy one for us and for all of you. COVID will be there next year. But I want to be careful and stay healthy in mind and body. I agree.

If you’re not well, you can’t do anything. If you’re not well, you can’t move. Health is really important. Let’s take care of our bodies. During the New Year’s holidays, we drink more and eat more, so please get in shape in January. And enjoy your life! We’ll do our best too.

I’m rooting for you all. Let’s make it a great 2022 together! And thank you for watching MashAyaVideo this past year! Thank you. Thank you so much. Please watch the video again next year… This is the end of the radio. Thank you very much for listening. Good bye. I’ll see you next year!

Have a wonderful New Year’s holiday! Let’s have a good year!

  32. I truly enjoyed your year review 👍. I think many people watch your videos simply because your vibes are so heart warming and you have soothing voices. I don't particularly like most wines but I enjoyed your wine videos. I'm not religious but I love to visit churches. Maybe you could visit little towns & churches/cathedrals this year? I think Aya would enjoy Italian villages.
