Classic Italian Sunday Sauce & Meatballs Recipe (In Just 90 Minutes!)
This authentic Italian Sunday sauce and meatballs recipe delivers deep, slow-simmered flavor in about 90 minutes. Built in the classic Italian American tradition, the sauce develops richness through proper browning, concentrated tomato depth, and a layered blend of high-quality canned tomato products chosen strategically for balance and texture. The result is a thick, vibrant red sauce that tastes like it cooked all day. The meatballs are tender, flavorful, and pan-seared before finishing in the sauce, creating a hearty, restaurant-quality Sunday dinner perfect for pasta night, family gatherings, or holiday meals.

Not Italian at all.
Wow. What an amazing video. I learned a lot watching it and I will be making your recipe
Hi
Please send recipe
You should have your butcher grind the meat together. A lot less handling of the meat.
That's how we did it, always put some basil in the meatballs. My hubby was Italian from NY. ❤❤
My wife makes meatballs in the oven. Don’t know why but they are fantastic. I want her to make Sunday sauce and I think she has Some Italian in her family.. I know she can do this and I definitely want to try it. My wife is a good cook.
Do you ever put tomato sauce in the meat bslls. Or can you stuff the meatballs with mozzarella cheese in the center of the balls?
90 minutes?, 90 minutes????……LOL
Nice watch you do your dish I learned a few steps I normally didn’t do!
Interesting no onions in the meatballs. Is this traditional?
Minga! You’re giving away the family secrets over here! Fuhgetaboutit!! 😂 Great video! Very similar to how we make ours. Gonna try to make it your way to compare. Thanks!
In the late 1970s I worked at a printing company in NE Washington, DC where Angelo the Italian pressroom foreman gave me his mother’s sauce recipe. I got all the ingredients at the Italian grocery in the Eastern Wholesale food market stopping at Washington beef for a whole prime filet. It took 12 hours to make, simmering down to 1/2 the starting volume. 😋
That's pretty much how I make my Sunday sauce. The only question is I never used that much oil before. Does it make it taste or have a lot of oil residue in the sauce? Thank you for any help you can give me. Great job. Thank you for sharing
As a non Italian I approve.
OMG.. You are AMAZING.. MOST amazing instruction for making meatballs. THANK you for your brilliant and thorough instruction.. I will forever make meatballs by your direction for my Sunday- ALL WEEK sauce 🙂 Cheers
I was happy to see you explain absolutely everything and why! When you got out a fork to brown/turn the meatballs, i cheered, lol, because that's been my trick, too. A spatula is just too big to use. Excellent, excellent video. Ty!
