Life in Tokyo|Exploring New Spots, Shopping & Cafe Hopping 2025

Hi every one. I was on a business trip outside the city, but finally came back. This time, I’m planning to explore a few
newly opened spots! Let’s explore New Tokyo together! First, I stopped by one of Tokyo’s newest and most talked-about shopping complexes. It’s about a 10-minute ride from Shinagawa Station on a single train line. This huge multi-complex just opened this past September! What’s really impressive here is the scale over 180 stores, and it’s huge! I got totally lost myself.😂 The complex is divided into two areas, the South and North buildings, and there’s even a rooftop garden that you can enjoy for free. There’s also a used record section with about 500 records, from hip-hop and R&B to jazz — really
beginner-friendly selections. I’m still new to records, so I want to more actually. It’s a bit early, but I was
actually curious the rooftop gardem! The place is huge, honestly way bigger than I expected. Besides the rooftop garden with a full view of Tokyo! There are restaurant area over there. I ended up coming back down to the first floor. Luckily, this sweets shop wasn’t crowded, so I decided to stop by. It’s actually the first patisserie produced by Happoen,
a luxury hotel in Shirokane-Takanawa The cakes here look amazing… There were all the classics like shortcake and mille-feuille. The outside was coated with white chocolate, and inside there were layers of jasmine-scented white mousse and orange cream jelly…it was just perfect. This nice-looking café
on the 4th floor of the South Tower. They roast their beans right at the shop, offering several kinds of single-origin
and blend coffees. You can even buy the beans you liked after
trying them in-store. I ordered the “Red Latte” It’s made with beet milk,
giving it a mild sweetness and creamy texture I guess it’s like perfect even for people who don’t usually drink coffee.(I’m actually totally into coffee though😂) Ok. Now leave this shop and head to Mita area! Zojoji Temple seems one of the biggest and most iconic temples around Mita. Even though I’ve lived in Tokyo my whole life, I somehow never came here before. Wash your hands before praying at a temple to cleanse yourself before standing in front of the Buddha. It’s known as a temple for health and well-being, so I prayed to stay safe and injury-free for the rest of the year. I heard there’s an underground parking spot that’s secretly popular among foreigners for shooting Tokyo Tower, so I came to check it out! I arrived before the noon, but there were already in a line. There you go. My turn. At first, I thought no one was in line,
but it turned out I was at the wrong entrance and accidentally cut in… totally by mistake.😂 Anyway, the view is amazing, don’t you? (And this is definitely going on the thumbnail.) I could get a really nice shot of Tokyo Tower. I decided to look around inside Tokyo Tower. The souvenir area has a lot of snacks and sweets, but what caught my eye were all the Sanrio goods!! There were so many limited-edition items
you can only get here. I couldn’t resist and ended up buying a Hello Kitty plush wearing a little Tokyo Tower hat. It was just too cute. There aren’t many restaurants around here, so I grabbed something quick from the convenience store
and decided to have lunch at Shiba Park instead. Decided these one. So much beautiful It’s a lot bigger than I expected. The leaves are starting to change for autumn,
but there’s still so much green everywhere. It’s the kind of place that makes me want to keep looking up while walking. There’s even a waterfall in this park.
It doesn’t feel like a park anymore. For lunch today, I picked a Wakame Seaweed Rice Ball
and a Matcha dorayaki! When people think of onigiri,
they usually expect something inside, but this plain salted one is my go-to classic. You can always find it at convenience stores,
so try it if you get the chance. I walked all the way to Azabudai Hills. Even beyond the underground areas directly connected to the station, plants are placed all around the buildings, blending nature with the urban landscape. Yet somehow, it feels like stepping into another world — almost futuristic in a way. What really surprised me was learning that this entire project actually started…back in 1989!😂 After years of planning and discussion, it finally
opened in 2023! % Arabica Coffee is No,1 coffee shop at
Azabudai Hills for me. This café is on the 4th floor of the
Tower Plaza. The coffee here is a bit pricey,
so I can’t come often, but since it’s been a while, I decided to get a café latte. There were outdoor seats too,
so I took a bench to get some work done. It was completely in the shade though,
and it was colder than I expected. I ordered an iced latte, and honestly, I should’ve gone with hot. Still, the coffee was perfect — as always. Most of the people around Azabudai Hills were international visitors, so it almost felt like I was the tourist.😂 There was also a bookstore, and it was really spacious. They had a great selection of architecture and
design books, They had a great selection of architecture and
design books, which I love, so it felt like heaven for anyone into
culture and art. This is The Conran Shop, by the iconic British
designer Terence Conran. I absolutely love this place. It’s full of beautiful furniture with soft rounded shapes and natural wood textures. For someone who loves furniture as much as I do, it truly felt like paradise. There is a supermarket in here too. Seems to on the basement floor High-end fruits, fresh fish, premium meats…seems so much laxurious supermarket. This maitake is one pack is for 5000yen😂 I just browsed around this time. The bento boxes and deli foods looked
especially tempting, but since the prices were a bit high too. I gave up to buy it. I came to Shinjuku. There’s a new matcha café in an old-style house that just opened, and I’ve been curious about it, so I’m going to check it out. It’s actually a reservation-only café, and the spots usually sell out in less than a minute after bookings open. It’s super popular, but I was lucky enough to get a reservation From the gate, you’d never guess there’s a café inside. It has such a historic atmosphere. Even though it’s in Shinjuku, it’s closer to the Shin-Okubo side, so it feels much quieter than around the main station. It’s like a hidden oasis in the middle of the city, the kind of place that makes you want to take a deep breath and slow down. The original tearoom and water basin have been preserved, and the sounds of a small waterfall, the whisking of matcha, and soft record music create such a peaceful vibe. They focus mainly on matcha drinks, using only organic matcha from Izumo. I tried the watermelon matcha, and the combination of fresh watermelon sweetness and deep matcha flavor worked surprisingly well. Honestly, it’s something I’d love to drink again in summer. The shaved ice looked so beautiful that I couldn’t resist taking photos. I shared it with a friend this time, but it was light enough that I could’ve easily finished one by myself, while enjoying the elegant taste of matcha. A coffee break is important no matter the time. This is my favorite cafe in Shinjuku. A specialty café that focuses on light roast coffee. And even near from the shinjuku station, here is always calm atmoshere. And even near from the shinjuku station, here is always calm atmoshere. I’d saved it on Google Maps a while ago because I heard they play jazz on vinyl,
and I finally got to visit. You can talk with the barista and pick the beans that match your taste. They have all kinds of rare varieties,
including competition-grade beans you don’t usually get to try, which I found really interesting. The coffee’s a bit pricey, but it’s served in ceramic cups that help preserve the aroma,
and the portion is about three cups’ worth. So overall, I think it’s totally worth it. This time, I came to explore Futako-Tamagawa. It’s about a 15-minute ride from Shibuya Station on the Den-en-toshi Line. I’ll be focusing on a new food court that just opened here this year
and has been getting a lot of attention lately. Its name, “P,” actually comes from the fact that this place used to be a parking lot. Now it’s been transformed into a relaxing, green space
that feels almost like a park. In this video, I’ll take a closer look at four restaurants inside this popular food court, P. It’s a hamburger specialty shop where you can try an American-style smash burger. A smash burger uses a patty that’s pressed flat on the grill
instead of being shaped into a perfect round. I took a counter seat so I could watch the burgers being grilled right in front of me. It came with spicy mustard, tangy homemade pickles, chopped red onion, and classic American cheese that melts
perfectly when grilled. The burger was packed with flavor and incredibly satisfying. I think I might actually prefer this style over regular burgers. My friend joined me today, so we decided to try all four restaurants. Next up was the pizza place. The main branch is in Daikanyama and they also have locations in the Nihonbashi food court “Commissary,” They had a few interesting options like homemade sausage and Italian-style pizzas, but I went with the classic pepperoni this time. After ordering, they reheated the pizza in the oven,
so the cheese melted perfectly and it came out piping hot. The crust was on the thinner side, but the flavor was rich and satisfying —
one slice was enough to feel completely content. This restaurant mainly serves curry dishes. You can choose from three types of curry sets — single, double, or triple — and mix and match from chicken, vegetable,
and the daily curry. I went for the triple curry set this time. Before eating, the staff kindly explained each dish on the plate, which was really nice. Everything is served on a banana leaf, with rice in the center — the presentation alone makes you happy before even tasting it. The plate came with more than just curry: there was dal, tarkari, aloo bhujia, tomato achar, papad, basmati rice, and salad. The monthly special curry was shrimp and coconut, filled with big pieces of shrimp. From the name, I expected it to be quite sweet, but it actually had a mild flavor with gentle spices, making it really easy to eat and perfectly balanced. On the final day of the morning, I came to Sangenjaya! I came to a café that only sells cheesecake and it seems pretty well-known around Sangenjaya. It’s almost like a house. Definitely not someone’s house. It’s an actual café. You might don’t know sangenjaya. It’s only about five minutes from Shibuya too. The interior goods they sell are super cute. The apple pie looked amazing too. You don’t often see small cafés with a counter-style setup like this in Tokyo, so it felt pretty unique. The display was filled with all kinds of flavors like pumpkin, Oreo, and more. Not overly sweets! I liked it. Shopping’s not over yet. I made my way to Omotesando next. Interior shops are filled with Christmas decorations, and the city is slowly getting more festive. It feels like summer just ended, but suddenly it’s freezing, as if autumn skipped right past. I studied abroad in Canada for a short time, and one of my classmates from back then is coming to Japan next month. So I came here to look for a small gift. There are so many cute items,
like tiny accessories and heart-shaped zipper bags, that I can’t decide what to get. Lately, I’ve heard people say that because of global warming, Japan’s traditional four seasons might turn into just two. So I want to take my time to enjoy the winter scenery and the atmosphere of the city while I still can. It looks like they offer some really fun experiences here, like “My Ring,” where a craftsman makes a custom ring right in front of you to fit your finger, or a workshop where you can actually make your own ring by hand. You can choose the material from brass, silver 925, 10k gold, or 18k gold, and even customize the surface finish and size to match your own style. It’s such a nice way to create something that feels personal. The prices start from around ¥1,000, which is pretty reasonable,
so I think I’ll bring my friend here when they visit. I’d been curious about this café for a while because the exterior was so cute. At first, I actually thought it was just a little gift shop, but it turns out there were seats downstairs too.😮 It was way more spacious than I
imagined from the entrance! The shop near the entrance had really cute items, but there wasn’t any particular dish I wanted to try, so I just stayed for a quick coffee and left💪 It’s been such a nice day walking around Tokyo, discovering new cafés and places I’d never noticed before. I always feel like this city keeps changing, but somehow, it still feels familiar. I think I’ll keep exploring little by little, so maybe I’ll find more spots to share next time. Thanks for watching, and see you in the next video.

Back in Tokyo 🚅 I just returned from a business trip outside the city, and now I’m exploring some new spots — including recently opened shopping complexes that have been getting a lot of attention. Let’s enjoy a relaxed shopping journey in Tokyo together 🌿 I hope you enjoy!
