Texas Style Salad Skewers: Raw Food Recipe

hi i’m diana stoba welcome to the daily juice where we teach you how to eat for health vibrance and beauty i’m thinking about a barbecue right now what what do i want i want skewers i want delicious vegetables and lots of flavor involved we’re gonna do a texas style salad skewer with tex-mex dressing let’s start with the dressing we’re gonna do some olive oil a little apple cider vinegar into the blender we’ve got cumin coriander chili absolutely delicious wonderful texas flavors spices a little pecan butter this is going to bind the ingredients together a little bit a little bit of fat helps bind it so a nice creamy dressing will come out of that and then we’re going to sweeten it up with some medjool dates now make sure you take your pits out of your dates because the blender does not like the pits okay in the blender we’re gonna mix this up we’re gonna have a wonderful tex-mex salad dressing oh almost forgot my sea salt sea salt enhances the flavor and mineralizes the food just a bit make sure you use the himalayan sea salt the pink kind i saw this on my website as well all the good stuff okay the dressing or marinade however you want to call it is ready to go meanwhile back at the ranch the texas style ranch we’ve got some bamboo skewers here we’re going to put some radicchio now radicchio grows really tight so if you cut it with the core it’ll stay tightly wound up which makes for a really nice skewering vegetable so start with your radicchio now radicchio is slightly bitter which will go great with this sweet tangy dressing get some lettuce and i like to use the crown of the romaine and layer it tight like that when you slice it grab it in a big chunk and then skewer put a little corn on the cob slice it into about half inch thick there we go a little red pepper some thick cucumber here beautiful cherry tomatoes and maybe top it off with another crown of lettuce you can make these all day long they’re fun easy be creative at any vegetable you like zucchini is another one here we go so we’re going to line it up here pour our dressing now i made this pretty thick because i want it to stay on the skewer it doesn’t drip all over your clothes get a pastry brush or a basting brush and then baste your skewers just like barbecue except we’re doing it raw there we go maybe turn it over baste the other side get the flavors all over it there we go super fun look at that texas style salad on a stick kids will love this yummy you know what put a bunch of these out next time you have a barbecue and see how fast they fly out the window i’m diana stobo thanks for watching the daily juice always remember to eat for health vibrance and beauty
