10 Minute Tteokbokki – Cheesy, Sweet and Spicy! Soft, Chewy Ricecake

this is how to make spicy Tucky in 10 minutes I love to eat mine with cheese and these chewy rice cakes are so addictive start by adding Goa Jang paste to your pan along with gochugaru or Korean red pepper flakes minced garlic onion powder white pepper sugar frish sauce soy sauce MSG and I also like to add a little miso paste which is optional pour your water and stir before bringing your sauce to a boil taste your sauce and adjust to your taste add your rice cakes and simmer for 5 minutes until tender and chewy if you prefer a thicker sauce you can add a little cornstarch slurry at this point too you can serve as it is with a little spring onion but I prefer to melt a little mozzarella through and enjoy that never ending cheese pole the cheese also helps with the spice and honestly that combination of sweet and spicy makes this dish dangerously addictive

Ingredients:
500g rice cakes
2 TBSP gochujang paste
2 TBSP gochugaru (Korean red pepper flakes- these are not as spicy as regular chilli flakes!) feel free to adjust this to your taste, if you prefer it less spicy!
1 TSP fresh minced garlic
1 TSP onion powder
1/2 TSP white pepper
2 TBSP sugar
2 TSP fish sauce
1 TBSP soy sauce
1/2 TSP MSG
1 TSP miso paste (optional)
500ml water
2 TSP cornstarch, mixed with 2 TBSP water (optional, if you want to thicken your sauce)
