WHAT I EAT IN A DAY…BLW, Meal Prep, Healthy Salad Recipes
[Music] good morning [Music] Isn’t that cool [Music] [Music] what I eat in a day because I feel like I’m entering the next chapter of my journey as a mummy sweet Bean has been eating solids for just over a month now and lately I feel like she’s been less and less interested in breastfeeding which is sad for me but I guess it’s also kind of the point of baby lead weaning so naturally my diet has been changing I’ve been snacking out more of the things she’s been eating I have been less hungry I feel like in response to less breastfeeding so we’re gonna talk about a bunch of things one other thing I want to mention is that may is a digestive health month so I have partnered with seed on today’s video to educate you on the importance of gut health to our overall well-being specifically how the past and I’ve been struggling with bloating or IBS my instinct has definitely been to have less Variety in my diet just kind of stick to the things I knew wouldn’t float me it wouldn’t upset my tummy but now having looked at these studies maybe it would have benefited me to have more variety maybe it would have helped my gut be more adaptable and be more resilient so whether you were just C of milk crap we tried some new recipes which is so exciting I love trying new foods with her today we made broccoli cheddar tots which to be honest are probably gonna be more for me than for her because they were kind of crispy we also made some mini meatloaves which were just adorable as well as chia pudding I don’t know if I actually recorded that but I filmed all of our meal prep for tick tock wolf Vlog meal prep with me on my baby all right I’ll link it down below if it’s up when this video goes live laid for a bit girl was awake for a long time before getting fussy why are we in the car because I’m over stimulated it’s a joke but also kind of not really Bean is still asleep today has been one of those days where I just feel like I have been buzzing and I say this being in a place now where I feel like I’ve gotten really I won’t say good but I’ve gotten a lot better at adjusting my expectations and being flexible with my to-do list and and I just feel like I’ve been running all day I have been getting a lot of stuff done but there’s also still so much left to do and I can’t really wrap my head around that I have another video that talks about scheduling that I’ll link down below but lately what I’ve been trying to do is still that same system except really categorize my to-do list by things that have to be done during the day I have to be done while the Sun is up while being is up versus things that can maybe be done once the sun is down once Bean is sleeping when people are offline they’re not in their inboxes and I will be honest with you lately there have been a lot of things that I can get done after dark but it is really pushed back my bedtime I’ve been staying up way too late and I’m still not getting everything done anyways it is almost dinner time and I was thinking about this don’t ask me why okay but you know there’s a concept of almond moms I feel like I was introduced to this term on Tick Tock but I feel like it’s just kind of in the pop culture it’s like a lingo it’s out there it’s kind of a term that people throw around jokingly it’s a mom that’s probably well-meaning but a lot of what she says comes across as food shaming or weight shaming whenever I see Clips or like videos about it on Tick Tock it’s like oh my almond mom telling me how she weighed 90 pounds on her wedding day or my mom and Mom asking if I’m really gonna have seconds or if I’m really gonna eat all that or or saying how she’s literally so full after eating one almond I mean I think that’s the origin of the term and this is not to say my mom is nothing like that she’s a little lady she probably eats more than me but I was just thinking about it because lately I feel like I’ve been seeing life through two lenses I look at light through the lens of me how I normally would but I’ve also been thinking so much more about how Bean perceives me and the things that I’m doing specifically around food I know she’s very young but she did start solids recently and even before finding out that I was pregnant with Bean I’ve given a lot of thought about how I want to talk about food in our house and how I want to demonstrate having hopefully a healthy relationship with food because that’s something I really struggled with growing up and with how busy I’ve been lately I realized that there are many nights for dinner where I don’t actually sit down and have a proper meal and if you were just being observing me it might look like I’m eating nothing when in reality it’s just because I’m buzzing like moving so quickly trying to prepare dinner having little nipples of things as I’m preparing dinner and then once I prepare dinner it’s basically time to clean up dinner and then once I’ve cleaned up dinner I gotta either put Bean to better if she’s already in bed and I’m going right onto my computer to get that work done that I didn’t get done during the day so I still end up eating dinner but it’s not really in the way that fur but then through her lens it looks like I’m not eating anything so I’m not trying to give it out to almond moms but I am wondering if some of them have been mislabeled or misjudged because they were just busy moms who are at the end of their lines they’re trying to do everything I don’t know these are my underly thoughts they might mean something they might mean nothing I am sweating it randomly got really hot here this week but I’ve got to go make dinner okay so mommy is helping me prep dinner I was not kidding she is Tiny she claims she’s five too I think she’s barely five one but tonight we are having crunchy quinoa Thai chicken salad I don’t know what it’s called I pinned the recipe last week it’s got a bit of everything we had leftover quinoa from meal prepping for bean plus a bunch of veggies in my fridge that we’re about to turn I’m not normally two solids in a day kind of girl I quite frankly this amount of fiber is risky for me so we’ll see but the salad was tasty anyways that’s it for STRAWBERRY KALE SALAD:
(What you need) *eyeballed all amounts*
Salad mix
Chicken, shredded
Strawberry, diced
Cucumber, diced
Avocado, diced
Balsamic dressing
Feta, crumbled
(What to do)
Toss together ingredients and enjoy!

CRUNCHY THAI QUINOA SALAD:
(What you need – salad) *eyeballed all amounts*
Quinoa
Cabbage, shredded
Carrot, peeled into strips
Cucumber, diced
Bell peppers, diced
Green onions, diced
Chicken, shredded
Crushed peanuts, for garnish
Lime slices, for garnish
(What you need – dressing)
1/4 cup peanut butter
1/4 cup soy sauce
2 tbsp honey, melted
1 tbsp rice vinegar
1 tsp minced ginger
1 lime’s worth of juice
(What to do)
1-In a large bowl, toss together quinoa, cabbage, carrot, cucumber, bell peppers, green onions, and chicken.
2-Blend together dressing ingredients.
3-Pour dressing over salad mixture, toss, then portion and garnish with peanuts and lime. Enjoy!

MOST almond moms grew up heavily in diet culture and are terrified having overweight children. They shame more than educate. My mom wasn't that way but I witnessed my friend's mom's being that way. Leading to their children being terrified of being 'fat' and developing EDs.

Everything goes into her mouth. Glad your mom is around. My MIL moved in for 2 months with our first and basically took care of the house so wife could focus on sleep & baby.
I actually lost a ton of weight after my pregnancy because I was struggling getting my routine. Luckily I’m finally in the gym again and slowly regaining my appetite. Tip for any moms..don’t forget to prioritize yourself as well💗
I don't think being too busy for sit down meals make you an almond mum. I think the whole concept goes around what they say (more specifically to their daughters).
I’m a mama of 4 and the amount of time I spend in my car to refresh is kinda ridiculous lol. Something about a mom car sesh though just hits different! ❤

I can see how you are really struggling to get everything “done”. I was a type a mom too in the beginning but I got a valuable piece of advice from my MIL that completely shifted my perspective. She said that sure I could have it all….but not at the same time. You can’t be good enough at everything, it’s unrealistic and crushing, especially with small kids. This time with your child is short, be present with her and don’t work and film with her. If that sounds unreasonable then hire a nanny so you can focus on one thing at a time. You are doing her no favors by splitting your attention like that and I’m sure it’s burning you the hell out, which is very obvious from this video.

I definitely grew up with a well intentioned almond mom. She still is (plus growing up in the late 90s early 2000s when stick thin was the on my way to look) And it’s definitely affected my relationship with food. I have a 1 year told daughter and it’s so hard to almost relearn your own relationship with food in order to break the generational cycle. It’s a weird/hard journey for sure.

Women get overwhelm with children because they work. Do you really need that job? Your baby will grow eventually and will NOT want to spend time with you that much. Actually at all. Why sacrificing the precious few years with your children for a job you really don’t actually need to survive.

Just know if youre talking of gut biome, strawberries contain insane trace amount of pesticides, organic is less, but still hold pesticides
