Welcome to the 5-star luxury resort Fushifaru Maldives. Our Pool Beach Villa Sunset. Activities such as Sandbank Picnic. Infinity pool and beaches. Unique food experiences. Tea party. Faciltiles such as Spa and gym. Please enjoy! Fushifaru Maldives is in Lhaviyani Atoll, on a private island in the northern Maldives. Hello from the Maldives paradise. Fushifaru Maldives is 35 minutes by seaplane from Malé airport. This time we came by boat from Six Senses Kanuhura resort, where we had stayed before. Resort staff is getting ready to welcome us at the arrival jetty. Get off the boat. Wow, this is a nice welcome! I’m getting a little shy with so many people around. Two staff members are playing the drum. Now we head towards the reception for our check-in. Fushifaru Maldives opened in October 2017 and is known for its authentic Maldivian touches. Welcome drink is a blend of pineapple, mango and coconut. Like a Maldivian Piña Colada. Hop on the buggy. We start our buggy tour from the Fanihandhi pool bar. We’ll have a butler during our entire stay. Traditional Maldivian house where people used to leave. Boutique shop and reception. 24 hour gym and fine-dining restaurant are on the left side. In the middle of the island, there’s a kids club and a tennis court. Road is a little bumpy. Korakali is their all-day dining buffet restaurant. Buffet style with live cooking stations for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The spa is called Heylhi Spa and it is open 10 a.m to 7 p.m. Today is going to be a cocktail party here. This is the Thundi Beach Bar. The reef is just a short swim from the beach, very accessible. There are many birds and animals that we’ll see living on the island. Arrived at our villa. We’ll be staying in room 205, their Pool Beach Villa Sunset. Fushifaru has a total of 63 villas, with 44 beach villas and 19 water villas. Let’s check out the room. Our room is located here. First, we’ll have a quick look at the floor plan. Unlocking. The Pool Beach Villa Sunset measures 122 square meters, about 1,313 square feet. This is the bedroom and living room. In the room, a selection of welcome gifts is waiting. Welcome Prosecco and bites. (both are free) Prosecco Brut from Tini brand. Traditional local bites with spices. It’s called Majaa Malaafaiy. It’s a Fushifaru-branded beach bag, decorated with their signature island print. Welcome letter. “Marhaba” means “welcome” in Maldivian language. Two combined pillows create a fish. Mattress and linens are super soft.
Pillows as well. Black reading lights are basic. It’s 3:39 p.m. Remote controllers. All the decor in the room is entirely made from wood.
Working space is spacious. Fushifaru phone. Breadfruit chips and coconut meat.(complimentary) Breadfruit chips are a local Maldivian snack similar to potato chips. Coconut smells delicious. Leather seating.
Leather desk accessories. Inside.. It’s a resort map for guidance and information about the facilities. Fushifaru safety map. It’s a book about diving and their house reef. Snorkeling and diving are among the most unique activities in the Maldives. Water sports and excursions. The TV can be rotated. On the other side of the room.. I 💛 Fushifaru Full size mirror. Let’s see the minibar. There are also arts in the room. Fushifaru complimentary still water. Several types of glasses and cups.
This one has a colorful design. A coffee machine.
Kettle. Pringles chips. Coffee capsules, tea, sugars. Waters, beers, soft drinks are located in the refrigerator and they are extra charge. Beer options include international brands such as San Miguel from the Philippines. Maldivian wine. Apple juice, KitKats. “Do not disturb” and “Make up my room” bag. Minibar price list. Wardrobe. Two life jackets are placed on the upper shelf and a flashlight. (Or no flashlight) Laundry bag and menu. Safebox. The other wardrobe.. Contains indoor slippers, yoga mat in a colorful print and umbrellas. Ironing set. Next is the bathroom area. I was surprised by the design of the open bathroom. It is really natural and beautiful. The bathroom has twin sinks. Fushifaru logo is a stylized tree design that appears on the bath towels. Stylish mirrors. Fushifaru body lotion and hand soap. Water pressure is a little weak. Amenity kit. Loofah sponge, nail care, shower cap, sewing kit. Shaving kit, comb and cotton pad. Weight scale. Don’t use it on vacation. Fushifaru bathrobes. They are Fushifaru branded. Next is the shower room. The interior of the shower room is also natural. Shower amenities. Toilet area. There is no bidet but a hand shower. Bathtub in the middle of the room is nice. The second shower is located at the back, completely open to the air. Pressure is better here. It’s a beautiful bathroom. It’s boiling hot in here. Let’s do something about it. We also have a fan on top of the king-size bed. We can adjust the fan to our preference. Next, let’s take a look at the terrace.. where we’ll find a wooden deck with a dining table, chairs and a lounger facing the private plunge pool. The length of the private pool is about 4m. The depth of the pool is 1.2m so please don’t dive. We can access the beach directly from the villa, just follow this path. Such a tall palm tree. Two sun loungers and umbrella. Welcome to paradise! Even though it’s a little cloudy now, it is still very beautiful. It’s a large beach and the sea color is amazing. All these beach villas are sunset side. A little further in the back, we can see the sunset overwater villas. The Pool Beach Villa Sunset is listed at $1,332 per night, with an additional $407 in taxes and fees. Let’s go out and have a drink by the beach. Watersports sign. Raalhu Bar is set right by the beach, next to the watersports center. Here you’ll also find sun loungers on the sand and a beach volleyball court. Let’s have a look at the menu. They serve creative coffee smoothies here, like a café popcorn affogato. Coffee smoothie and an iced vanilla coconut latte to be. Hmmm. Soo good. Cheers to the sun. This is the watersports center. Here we find floats, water bikes, kayaks and other gear for fun on the water. Jet ski and boats are available and even a yacht for excursions. Colorful kayaks. Non-motorised equipment like kayaks or paddleboards costs about 25 dollars per hour. A fifteen-minute jet ski ride is about 105 dollars. Beach flag warnings and island safety map for swimming. Fushifaru is a small boutique island, about 250 meters long and 150 meters wide. In this part of the island, there’s a shallow lagoon with rippled sand and gentle waves. At Fushifaru, the sea temperature usually stays around 28–30°C (82–86°F) all year. The outside air temperature is typically 27–32°C (81–90°F). In a word, paradise. Before heading out on a kayak ride, we’re given clear instructions on where we can go and which areas to avoid. The glass kayak is better than the regular one because you can see fish below. Thanks for the help. See, I told you we’d come across some things out here. Omg, it’s a ray with a fish as a friend. They got scared? This isn’t very common, so I’m glad I got to see it happening. Look at this crystal clear water. My new favorite color lately. Now we’ll take the paddle and go for a tour around the island. When we came back… A surprise. The bathtub has been decorated with floating yellow flowers, arranged in the shape of a heart. Lots of bath foam. It’s almost sunset time and we’re heading over to the cocktail party. At Fushifaru, the cocktail tea party is a tradition where guests share drinks and snacks with the resort staff at sunset. It’s usually held at Thundi Beach Bar and they also have live music. It gives me a tropical vibe. This is the colorful food truck at Fushifaru, where guests can enjoy snacks, coffee and drinks. Some traditional bread in the making. Bites like spring rolls, coconut meat and banana bread. The activity is complimentary and so are the drinks during this hour. The orange one is vodka with orange juice and grenadine. The pink one is with strawberry and coconut cream and it is without alcohol. Smells like cotton candy. What is happening here… There are some parrots. This ones are so colorful. I got a white one with an orange nose. Please be good and happy for the camera. No the bracelets please. The live performance is so nice and all the staff members are great people. Got some snacks with sauces to try. I was lucky to witness such a beautiful sunset from the deck of the overwater villas. Back on the island there were some rabbits. So cute! He’s having dinner. Now that the parrots are gone, we should go to our dinner as well. It is a beautiful landscape. The palm trees that surround the island are all very tall. Fushifaru has three restaurants and two bars. Tonight, we’ll enjoy dinner at their a la carte fine-ding restaurant, Raakani. It is open for both lunch and dinner, dinner starting at 6:30 p.m. and focussing on international cuisine. This is Teppanyaki, another restaurant of the resort located next to ours. It’s a live theatre of showmanship with flame-grilled Angus beef, fresh seafood and authentic Japanese flavors. The setting is relaxed, balanced between not too elegant and not too casual. Outside tables are beautifully arranged. The atmosphere out here feels better than indoors, as you can truly enjoy the authentic vibe. The table is beautifully set, with black stone-style plates and golden cutlery. A glowing blue lamp creating a cozy evening atmosphere. Have a fantastic day. Wine and dine list. Dinner menu has only a few dishes. Two types of starter and three mains. Dessert is either fruits or coconut creme brulee. I wanted a physical drinks menu to show you. There are 110 different wine labels from different regions.
Wines by glass. Sparkling wine and wine from Bordeaux. They have wines from all over the world including Austria, France, Argentina. Bodega Norton is one of Argentina’s most renowned wineries, founded in 1895 in Mendoza. It has a beautiful color. Sesame bread, Foie gras with cheese and oil, foie gras butter, olive oil. Their signature sauce is with tuna, coconut and it’s a bit spicy. Starter is here. Bread is nice, nothing so special. I am more curious about their signature sauce. It’s garden fresh salad with wakame seaweed. It’s also with apple dressing. Main course is Venison medallion and Truffle mushroom risotto. Authentic Italian risotto with forest mushrooms, black truffle and parmesan. It’s New Zealand venison, butternut squash, parsmesan cheese and wild jus. It also has some crispy onion rings. Meat is medium hard. Mini onion ring. Dessert is coconut creme brulee. It has a nice thin crust. The coconut flavor is not very strong though. The fine-dining dinner was satisfying, with just the right amount of food. When we finished the dinner, there was live music at the Fanihandhi pool bar. Let’s head inside and enjoy the music for a bit. Looks like there will be a special guest singing. We can also do karaoke here. It’s nice to always have such events during the day and night. The pier is only dimly lit, making it quite dark at night. Every night, many fish gather here. They are curious about the noises and the light. There are hundreds of them. I spotted a baby shark. On the way back, we passed by the beach cinema. It’s a private activity that can be booked for an extra cost. The island is so peaceful during the night hours. We got back to the villa. The turndown service must have already been completed. The ceiling lights beautifully at night and the bed is arranged for the sleep. Slippers and water. It is so calming. I’ll go to the terrace. The terrace isn’t illuminated, only the pool has lighting. Good night for now. It’s morning time at Fushifaru Maldives. We’re starting the day in paradise with a floating breakfast served in our villa’s pool. Floating breakfast is actually a wooden boat. Cool… but the question is whether it will stay balanced while we eat. We’ll see about that. The floating breakfast experience is not part of the bed and breakfast plan. (it comes at an extra cost) It is not more expensive than about 100 USD per setup though. Our boat is ready to set sail. I’m a bit cautious because I want some nice pictures with it and don’t want it tipping into the pool. But I’m also kinda hungry, so… Honestly, this is one of the most unique breakfasts we’ve had so far. Two sunny eggs with harsh browns and some tomatoes. A big portion of waffles with honey, syrups and jam. Two yogurt bowls. Tropical fruits platter. Americano coffee. Selection of nuts. Two fresh Fushifaru coconuts. SWEEET. Well, it’s a little tricky to eat from the boat but I enjoy the experience. This apricot danish looks delicious. Coffee. It’s greek yogurt with fresh fruits. We can choose our floating breakfast items a day in advance, usually by telling the butler or filling out the order form. Better to eat the eggs and waffles at the terrace table. Overall, it’s a really enjoyable experience and I’d highly recommend it. The only downside is the wobbliness. Next, after breakfast, we headed out to explore the island. Thundi Bar is located near the overwater villas. In the northernmost part of the island. Overwater villas feel more private and exclusive. You wake up directly above the lagoon. A hammock is suspended above the lagoon. Look at this water. So beautiful. Next, we head to the reception and infinity pool area. Lots of greenery and palm trees. Reception is open air. Island shop on the left and lounge on the right. Weekly activity schedule and private experiences. Movie under the stars. I love to see so many little pals on the island. After all, we are the intruders. Is he trying to hide? Cutie pie. Traditional Maldivian old houses were built from coral stones and palm materials, with thatched roofs made of coconut leaves. Some of these heritage-style houses can still be seen in local islands and cultural exhibits. Fanihandhi Pool Bar, set right by the infinity pool. It’s open all day from 10 a.m. until 11 at night. The decor is somehow tropical. Billiard table. Pool bar. With the infinity pool stretching out toward the ocean, it’s one of the best places on the island to relax. The infinity pool is expansive and it’s one of the highlights of Fushifaru. From here, the water seems to blend into the horizon. Sun loungers and umbrellas line the poolside. The infinity pool at Fushifaru is about 30 meters long and around 1.2 meters deep throughout. The views from up here are stunning. If we go further… We can spot some other local islands in the distance. Fushifaru is known for having a stunning sandbank, often used for private events. We’ll be visiting it a little later today. The sun in the Maldives gets really intense around noon so make sure to use plenty of SPF!! Unless you want to end up looking like a lobster. The water is refreshing. I expected it to be warmer but it’s around 23 degrees Celsius. Inside the infinity pool, there are built-in white loungers where we can relax. They are a nice touch for the pool but I don’t think that people use them so often. Here there’s a wooden deck with comfortable lounge chairs set right next to the beach with nice ocean views. A TMA seaplane just arrived and tomorrow we’ll also be departing the island the same way. Seaplanes are very loud when they arrive. The beach is next to the pool area. It’s a beautiful sight, looking up at the tall palm trees. Here on the beach, there’s a black hanging chair swing tied to one of the palm trees. The view from the swing is beautiful and it has enough space for two people. Hello travel mate. The sea near Fushifaru’s beach is shallow and very easy to enter. Fushifaru has beautiful beach and water. There are some luxury resorts in the Maldives that don’t have this kind of crystal clear waters. Our villa is also located on this side. Further down the beach, there is an underwater playground. It looks like this down there. On the way to the pool shower.. you can spot some tiny crustaceans hiding between the tiles. The shower itself blends beautifully into the greenery. I just ordered a fresh coconut because I really liked the one from the floating breakfast. We can play different games by the pool. Next, we’ll head to a sandbank picnic. It is a private experience set on a small stretch of sand surrounded by nothing but the ocean. It’s one of the most romantic and exclusive activities here. This is the boat that takes us to the sandbank. Boat has comfortable leather seating and is specially designed for navigating the shallow waters. We’ll be alone on the sandbank for 2 hours. Bye bye Fushifaru. It’s very close, just a 2-minute boat ride. A private sandbank picnic at Fushifaru costs around 120 dollars for a few hours. It includes transport, a picnic basket and drinks. Wow. The island itself is about 250 meters long and 100 meters wide. A staff member was waiting for us. He’ll introduce us to the sister island, then leave us alone and come back to collect us in a few hours. The sandbank has been set up with a shaded canopy, beanbags and a picnic spread, along with two sun beds. Looks beautiful. Cold drinks inside. Fruits platter. Coconut water and sparkling water. Time to explore the sandbank. WOWZA. Is this the most beautiful beach and clearest water I’ve seen in the Maldives? It could be. I am surprised. When it gets too hot, we can cool off and relax under the umbrellas. I recommend visiting the sandbanks in the morning or evening, as the midday sun can be unbearable. Out on the water, there’s a hammock tied to a wooden post where you can lie back, dangle your feet and float just above the turquoise lagoon. During the day, we can swim, sunbathe, walk along the shore, or take some nice photos for our travel collection. Guests can also book a romantic dinner setup under the stars. For something even more unique, there is the option to spend a night on the sandbank. The sandbank experience was truly a 10 out of 10. Sun was a bit too hot but everything else was perfect. Back on the island now. We’ll continue our tour of the resort facilities. This is the island port, where we arrived the other day. Diving Center at Fushifaru. They run daily boat dives to nearby sites like Fushifaru Kandu. There are both complimentary and extra charge activities. You can take PADI courses from beginner to advanced. There are guided house-reef snorkels and outer-reef trips. Only the snorkeling gear for the house reef is complimentary for guests. Prices at the Fushifaru Diving Center start at 160 USD for an experience dive for non-divers. A Discover Scuba Diving course costs 180 USD and includes 1 dive. Between the Raaki fine-ding restaurant and diving center there is gym. Entrance. The resort features a 24-hour fitness centre, so we can work out any time of the day or night. It’s equipped with strength-training gear, free weights and benches. You’ll also find cardio machines like treadmills and bikes. Large windows give you views and natural light during your workout. Towels and drinking water are provided for guests’ convenience. There are a few apples. It’s a nice gym. We are quite hungry so let’s head back to the pool to enjoy lunch. Chess is available here. Why are you playing alone?? You can play while surrounded by the beautiful paradise scenery. Let’s sit down. Fanihandhi Pool Bar beverage menu. Signature cocktails, bubbly cocktails. Smokey and classic cocktails. Beers, juices and coffee options. Lunch menu. Maldives dishes, salads, pizzas. Bergers, sandwiches.
Desserts. Kids menu. I ordered a traditional Maldivian dish. It’s Maldivian tuna taco and a mix greens salad with mozzarella cheese. Two mocktails as well. Both are very colorful. Now it looks like a pineapple smoothie. It has Maldivian tuna meat, onions, coriander, fresh coconut and lime, paired with a signature sauce. Salad is simple. Our lunch bill came to about $60, taxes included. Sports court. Tennis court is surrounded by tropical greenery and equipment is provided on request. There’s also a ping pong table available.
Kids club. Later in the afternoon, we visited Heylhi Spa for a relaxing couple’s massage. Entrance to Heylhi Spa, surrounded by natural elements and calming decor. Fushifaru logo on the sand. Reception desk and welcome spa pavilion on the left. It’s designed in Balinese style and they offer a wide range of Balinese massages and treatments. Before the massage, we are offered a ginger detox drink and cold towels. It has a strong smell. Complete the massage form. We chose a traditional Balinese couple massage for 50 minutes, around $210. There is a small outdoor pool and cabana loungers in the middle of the spa. Our treatment room is called Uni. The room is beautifully prepared and it truly feels like Bali. Changing room with towels, shower and bath towels. The massage begins with a relaxing foot bath. See you soon in 50 minutes.. The massage felt incredible and the therapists were from Indonesia. Thank you for this a relaxing experience. The advantage of staying in a Sunset Villa is enjoying better views in the afternoon. We decided to watch the sunset from our sunbeds in front of the villa. I was lucky to witness a beautiful sunset. After we watched the sunset, we went to the all-day dining restaurant Korakali. Korakali is their buffet style restaurant set right on the beach. It serves international dishes along with Maldivian-inspired flavors. The setting comes with tropical ocean views from sunrise to sunset. Dinner runs from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m. The style is casual dining and the dress code is casual. Tonight’s buffet theme is chef’s choice, so I’m curious to see what will be served. The terrace offers under the sky seating right by the ocean. Dining here feels relaxed and breezy, with palm trees and the sound of waves in the background. We can also have romantic dinner here. From here, you can see Korakali lit up beautifully at night. Let’s have a look at the foods tables. Rice. Great start for my camera… A dish called seafood panache. Beef stew. Here we have tortilla chips served with cheesy sauce, salsa, and guacamole. We can also order quesadillas here. Roasted vegetables. Truffle mashed potatoes. Indian food. In the middle of the area there are breads, sweets and cold cuts. Raw vegetable sticks, butter, Chicken canapé with mayo. This is gherkin with cheese. Edam cheese, cheddar, brie and Emmental cheese. Vegan corner with nuts, salads, fresh ingredients, olives. Quinoa and coleslaw salad. Chicken, avocado and cabbage small salads. Toast bread with dressings and sauces. Spices that we can pair with the roasted beef striploin. Live pasta. Barbecue meats and sides. They have rainbow fish, chicken, calamari, tuna. Pepper sauce, lemon butter sauce, bbq, sweet chili. Garlic, butter and plain naan bread. Tropical fruits like pineapple, hard melon, dragon fruit, papaya. Pomelo, fruit salad and passion fruit. We can choose anything we like and they will cut it for us. This is quite a wine glass. It’s the size of a human head. Selection of homemade ice cream. Strawberry, coconut, fruit and nuts, chocolate and mint, mango. Toppings like chocolate flakes, almond flakes, marshmallows. Almost forgot about the breads.
They have mini pizza, fresh breads. Bread buns, mini baguettes, multigrain bread. Cherry cheesecake. Apricot butter cake. Strawberry gateaux is beautiful. Macaron! Strawberry mousse. Creme flan. Chocolate Malabiya has some pistachio crumble. Pomme verte Swiss roll. Chocolate pistachio layer cake.
Coconut cookies and meringues. Pineapple upside down.
Creme brulee. It’s banana crumble cake. After checking out the whole buffet, now it’s time to choose what to have for dinner. First stop is a cheesy quesadilla. I feel like there’s a nice variety of foods for tonight’s dinner, especially if you’re a meat enthusiast. Thank you. We’ll add some other ingredients like olives, mashed potato. Some tortilla chips with cheese and salsa. Sit down on the terrace. A variety of international dishes from Indian food to Mexican dishes. Special bread. Quesadilla was our favorite. For dessert, we went with ice cream and a few small treats. Coconut and strawberry. Swiss roll and cheesecake. Chocolate ice cream, creme brulee and the chocolate mousse. Coconut ice cream is better than strawberry. This crème brûlée is even better than the one we had the other night at the fine dining restaurant. The cheesecake had quite a strong cheese flavor. After dinner, we headed to a private tennis session. We made the reservation for tonight through our butler. It is a good size tennis court. We have rackets, tennis balls and cold water ready for the game. Once in a few days, they organize cinema on the beach. After this, we’ll go back to our room and sleep. Night! Second morning and third day at Fushifaru Maldives. The weather has been great to us these days, though it can be unpredictable in the rainy season. We visited the Maldives in August, during the low season, and it was an amazing experience. Before heading to breakfast, we relaxed by the pool. It’s a great feeling and I highly recommend the private pool villas categories, especially if you love swimming. Since it is our last day at Fushifaru, let’s go to the beach. This is beautiful. Sand is very soft. The sun is not too strong now and the sea is calm. Both beach villa and overwater villa categories are stunning. But the experience between them feels completely different. Beach villas are set right on the sand, surrounded by palm trees and tropical gardens. Overwater villas feel secluded and romantic, floating above the water. Overwater villas are priced higher for the privacy and view. Beach villas feel more connected to island life, relaxed and tropical. Personally, I prefer beach villas because I love feeling the sand and the beach. Let’s prepare for breakfast at the restaurant. For the second breakfast, we’ll have the buffet with à la carte options at Korakali. Table setting and atmosphere are slightly different during the morning. The terrace looks even more beautiful during the daytime. During breakfast, the food items are arranged differently. Breakfast is served from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. Indian and Maldivian breakfast. Three of the most common foods in Indian cuisine are rice, lentils (dal) and roti (flatbread). Dosa is a traditional South Indian dish. A thin, crispy crepe made from fermented rice and lentil batter. Mas-huni is a traditional Maldivian breakfast dish made with tuna, grated coconut, onion and chili, usually eaten with flatbread called roshi. Quesadilla station turned into egg station for breakfast. Vegetable rice and noodles. Eggs. Turkey and chicken sausage. Bacon, hash brown. You can order omelets, poached eggs, Eggs Benedict, scrambled eggs, fried eggs, masala omelets and even Maldivian omelets. Porridge and tomato. Meats and beans. Sautéed mushrooms. Yogurts, muesli and chia puddings. There are also some cold cuts and dressings available. Hummus, guacamole and Greek yogurt. Pistachio, almonds, peanuts. Mixed leaves. Here we have fresh salad ingredients, beans, tomatoes, bell peppers and cucumbers. Cocktail dressing, mustard and herbs dressing, balsamic dressing. Capers pickles, onion and gherkin pickle. Smoked salmon, turkey and chicken ham. Soya and full cream milk with cereals. Dried fruits. Olive tapenade and tomato salsa.
Grilled pumpkin and toasted bread Fruit brioche bread.
Banana Nutella bread and banana cake. Homemade granola bars are a unique option for breakfast. Cheese croissant, chicken sausage rolls. Muffins and Berliner donuts. Glazed donuts. Fruit danishes, cinnamon rolls, pain au chocolates and croissant. The bread selection is the same as at yesterday’s dinner. Sour bread, bread slices. Apricot, woodapple and passion fruit jam.
Honey. An immunity booster shot made from beetroot, pineapple and celery. Fruits station is very unique. Wide variety of fruit slices and fruit salad. Pancake and waffle station with Nutella, strawberry sauce, cinnamon powder as toppings. I chose a seat at the back. The à la carte menu is just one page, with alternatives like an avocado sandwich, a salmon bagel and banana-oat pancakes. Iced americano and iced latte. We didn’t choose anything from the à la carte. My plate contains lots of healthy foods. Cocktail sauce. I love mushrooms with cocktail sauce.
You should try it. Maldivian omelette and others. The Maldivian omelette is made with tuna, onion, chili and grated coconut. This is a baby croissant. It’s soft and salty. Fruits plater with some watermelon, papaya (best fruit created), tropical banana and passion fruit. This is a muesli with chopped fruits. Papaya! Muesli is little sweet. The marshmallows are extra soft and fluffy. Thank you for the breakfast. Now it’s time to check out. At Fushifaru, all arrivals and departures are by seaplane. The seaplane routes are organized between the resort and Malé Airport, flying only during daylight hours. While we wait for the seaplane leaving at 10:30 a.m, let’s take at their boutique shop. You’ll find souvenirs, hats, skincare and small accessories. It’s a nice spot to grab a little memory from the island before leaving. They also sell Sun Bum sunscreen here, in case you run out during your stay on the island. Island paintings. Painted plates. There are many interesting items for sale. For example, this turtle. The mugs we’ve had in our villa are also for sale. Interesting pieces of art starting at $45. Beach slippers. Wooden items. Postcards.
Handmade notepads. Water figurines and decorative elements. Rays. Turtles and dolphins.
Keychains. Card games and magnets with the Maldives as souvenirs. Jewelry items. They also sell some tropical-themed T-shirts along with simpler ones. Swimwear, dresses, etc. Got some Fushifaru stuff. The plane is already waiting for us. Unlike some resorts, Fushifaru doesn’t have its own branded seaplane but the ride is just as scenic. Regarding my impressions of Fushifaru, I think it’s a charming boutique resort. The beach villas are comfortable, food was enjoyable, with highlights like the fine-dining dinner at Raakani and the boat floating breakfast. The sandbank picnic was definitely a 10/10 experience, probably the most beautiful beach and water I’ve seen in the Maldives. Service was great as well. Having a butler to arrange everything from activities to private sessions was really convenient. Rates are more affordable compared to the ultra-luxury resorts, with pool beach villas starting around $1,300 per night. Overall, it’s a wonderful place if you’re looking for a mix of Maldivian traditions, good value and unique experiences. I’m very glad we stayed at Fushifaru. See you in the next country! Have a happy day and thank you for your watching!
