疲れた日はおいしいものを食べたいけど楽をしたい…!
Closed for the day I came shopping and am trying to decide which meat to buy. Today I prioritized quantity over quality and got my ingredients and returned home safely. First I took care of the dogs. Today I forgot my eco bag so I bought a plastic bag for the first time in a long time. I also bought more lemons that I always buy. Lemons are so delicious that I’ve been eating these a lot lately. I was hungry so I decided to start by replenishing my carbohydrates. I love brown sugar buns. There were lots of other options too, but I was distracted, so I went with this one which was 20% off ☺️ I worked out well today, so for now I’ll fill my stomach and get ready for some drinks in the evening. I ate some red bean paste so I’m thirsty. A refreshing classic goes well with red bean paste! Barley and red bean paste go well together. I want to remove the spiciness so I’ll slice the onion first. I’m afraid of the last bit… I think using a slicer makes it thinner and it feels better. I’ll slice the rest with a knife. The pungent aroma of the onion will spread. Once the onions are done, I’ll take my time with the rest. These miso pickles were given to me by an acquaintance who said she went to a Kyushu product fair. They’re sweet and delicious. Perfect with rice or alcohol. I’ll arrange them and put them in the fridge. They’re covered in hair and have turned into a dog cushion… I’m going to use broccoli sprouts, and I like a nice spiciness that’s not too spicy. I’ll arrange them. For the appetizer, I bought smoked salmon and cottage cheese. The cheese was from Costco. There was a lot, but the broccoli sprouts are okay . Soy sauce, olive oil, lemon juice, sugar, mirin. Delicious. The smoked salmon isn’t very salty, so I’ll add plenty of it! I’m using a lot of tomatoes today. These tomatoes aren’t for salad. I saw them in a magazine the other day and I’ve been curious about them, so I’d like to treat myself to something . Why? Because it’s a reward for myself after all that hard work. I’ll try using them on the griddle version of the grill I bought the other day. It’s shiny, but I need to wash it. Is this necessary ? Is this thing really that big? I set it up, but it’s clearly tilted… I contacted support and sent it in for repair later. So what I’m making today is… a convenient, unique treat: sukiyaki. I’m making it with mirin, soy sauce, and sake. I’ll use a lot of mirin, so I’m glad I bought some. The aroma is amazing, so I’ll add the tomatoes. That’s right. Today’s tomato sukiyaki. 🍅 I’ve prepared plenty of meat, and I’ll use a lot of eggs, so I’ll start with two. So, I’m going to start my tomato-based evening drink again. I just ran out of beer, so I’ll open up some Lambrusco I bought at the supermarket for the first time in a while. It reminds me of Saizeriya. Just one glass of Brusco . We’re having red meat today so it goes perfectly with it. The sweet and sour, light carbonation is nice. It’s easy to drink and delicious. But first I’ll have the salmon . This is really good. I thought the salmon and cottage cheese would be the main focus but the sauce and the onion and broccoli sprouts are great. The sprouts and onions have a crisp texture and a slight spiciness, and the soy sauce and olive oil sauce really tightens it up. I thought sukiyaki alone would be a bit lonely so I prepared this, and it doesn’t match the sukiyaki at all 😂 But it’s very tasty and I’m satisfied. It’s about time to add the beef. Every time I buy beef I forget to remove the beef fat, but I didn’t need to this time. The beef is starting to smell nice…! I went a little overboard with the amount of insulation , so it’s not very interesting…lol This is my first time making tomato sukiyaki, and it’s very, very filling. The tomatoes are sour and sweet, and are gently wrapped in the sweet and spicy meat and egg, which goes really well together. I’m so happy, I almost want more tomatoes. This has a rich flavor and goes really well with alcohol. Actually, it’s not the season yet, so there’s no chrysanthemum on display, so I prepared a simple tomato sukiyaki today. 😂 It’s been a while since I last had sukiyaki, and it’s still so good! I wonder why cooked tomatoes are so delicious. They’re so soft and creamy. My favorite ingredients for sukiyaki are chrysanthemum and shirataki noodles, but next time I’ll have to add tomatoes. Today’s dish is easy, but it looks like it will be a delicious finish . Also, it’s been a while since I’ve had beef, so I feel even happier. I used the cheaper beef, and the quantity I made the right choice by adding more, and the amount of sauce increases the feeling of happiness. I’ll wait with the salmon until the beef is done. The onions are super important in this salmon carpaccio, so just pouring the sauce over the onions is quite satisfying. Of course, with salmon and cheese, it’s a main dish in itself. In fact, it’s become my favorite and I’ve already made it about five times 😂 It was cooked properly and finally started to simmer. I added two medium-sized tomatoes, but it was over in no time. I’ll take out all the sukiyaki for now and clear the salmon plate. Now, back to the sukiyaki . I think beef fat is especially delicious when you’re hungry , and the acidity of the tomatoes makes it feel like the first bite even in the second half…lol. It’s about time, so I’ll move on to the final dish. Speaking of finishing off sukiyaki, I love udon! It seems a little strong, so I’ll add some water and while the udon is simmering, I’ll make something lighter since the next sake is strong. Since today is a reward meal, I’ll treat myself to a highball. The second part begins with an Egan’s highball. The udon noodles I finish off the sukiyaki are something else entirely, and it’s fun, like a new snack. I’d like to try the udon noodles to see what they’re like. They’re as rich in flavor as their color suggests. They’re just as strong as a snack. I’m reaching for the sake. Finally, I add some meat to enhance the flavor . This rich color is fantastic . To complement the rich flavor, I add an egg. The sweet and spicy udon noodles and egg are a perfect match . I went to Marugame Seimen for the first time in a while, and their Niku Bukkake Oroshi Udon (grated grated daikon radish) was so sweet and spicy, it reminded me of that. Today’s dish was just as delicious, and I’m happy to be able to enjoy it with my drink. It was my first time at the restaurant, but it was very lively, and the atmosphere inside was great. Ah, it’s so rich! The udon is a little too strong, and I feel like there’s not enough egg. I adjusted it with some tomato . This is probably the best egg I’ve used in a while. It’s packed with protein! I often use too many eggs when making sukiyaki , so I’m glad I stocked up on eggs. Sukiyaki is best when the eggs are mixed in thoroughly. The udon noodles at the end are delicious, as they look like Nagoya’s misonikomi udon. I’d like to go back to Nagoya for a while, and eating hitsumabushi in Nagoya is a distant memory. If you’re not careful, the days will fly by. I’ll put the udon in a bowl for now and clean up first. I was thinking of having dessert after the udon, but I really wanted to eat something sweet first, so I’ll have one. Autumn is the best time of year, and I love food and fashion, but I absolutely love sweet potatoes. This pudding has a smooth, sweet potato-like texture. I thought it looked very sweet potato-like, and it turned out that the ingredients were quite rich in sweet potato. I think it’s almost like sweet potato paste solidified into a pudding (a mysterious certainty). I love almost all potato and chestnut dishes. The season with a lot of potatoes is the best. End.
