Hello, we’re JS. Today’s video shows us strolling through Taipei’s Taoyuan neighborhood. Exploring a wonderful day of experiences. There are so many local delicacies, quaint restaurants, and hidden alleys that we love. We wanted to share these leisurely moments with everyone. So I edited this video to capture the essence of life. I hope you can relax and enjoy it to the end. If you also have favorite Taiwanese local delicacies, quaint spaces, or hidden alleyways, please leave a comment and share your experiences with us. Tourists taking the MRT to Ximen Station It’s about a 5-minute walk to Taoyuan Street. Okay, let’s begin our journey to Taipei’s Taoyuan Street! The sun is still shining brightly on this early autumn morning. Today we want to try six delicious restaurants on Taoyuan Street. Sanweixiang is known as the “”President’s Special Bun.”” A 70-year-old shop, passed down through three generations. It’s also our favorite takeout bun shop. I really like the crust of the old-style noodles. The filling is minced meat, very similar to Shandong dumplings. Every bite is filled with a warm feeling of happiness. Many people take bags of noodles home. There’s a Sanwei Noodle Shop across the street. The shop has a similar name. Turns out it’s owned by my brother. I’d also like to try the fresh meat buns. They look similar in size, but they’re 5 yuan cheaper. It’s so hot! The same delicious old-fashioned dough and distinct scallion aroma. The meat is chewy and juicy. You’ll love it the first time you try it. I’ll definitely be ordering takeout from this place! You absolutely can’t miss the beef noodles on Taoyuan Street. Lao Wang Ji is on my bucket list. I must try the braised beef noodles recommended by “”500 Bowls.”” The shop was packed the moment it opened, so I joined the queue. Locals and tourists alike flock here. For this bowl of braised beef noodles filled with the aroma of butter The restaurant uses fresh, warm-bodied Taiwanese beef. Predominantly lean meat Tender and not dry. Such a familiar taste!? Braised beef noodles that taste just like Taiwanese instant noodles. Everyone was enjoying the delicious chewing experience. Amazingly delicious! Explore a 40-year-old shop deep in the alley. You can admire the owner’s cooking from the doorstep. The hot pot noodles are stir-fried with cabbage and egg droplets over high heat. Add the noodles and stir-fry quickly. Then bring the entire pot of noodles to a simmer over low heat. Finally, top with shredded pork or braised pork in lotus sauce. The hot hot pot noodles are served.

Be sure to add garlic, chili oil, and white vinegar to taste the various layers. The shredded pork is very flavorful. A rich, salty, and fragrant taste. The broth is fragrant with tomatoes, egg drop soup, and soy sauce. Every sip is a heartwarming taste of home-cooked food. The thick noodles have a nice chewy texture. The garlic is a perfect complement. Adding chili oil and white vinegar makes it even more appetizing. It’s a simple, delicious dish you’ll miss. Continue exploring Taoyuan Street’s popular eats. Zhao Ji Vegetable and Pork Wonton King has been open for over 50 years. Two electronic ordering machines at the entrance are very convenient. The restaurant offers spacious and bright seating.

It looks like a gold ingot, so adorable. This wonton is huge! The soup is flavored with seaweed, celery, and egg skin. The cooked vegetable and meat wontons seem to have grown in size. The broth is refreshing and fragrant. You really need to eat several bites of these vegetable and meat wontons to finish one. The filling is well-seasoned, and the bok choy doesn’t have a bitter taste. A very satisfying experience. This interesting narrow alley on Hengyang Road It’s a hidden shortcut for office workers to find delicious food. Directly to Long Ji Qiang Guo Noodles. Also, it leads to the retro cafe I want to try today. Open the wooden door and you’ll journey through the galaxy and into the Showa era. The window seat is the most popular. The collection inside the shop exudes a sense of time. Playing 1980s pop and rock music. Travel back in time to the beat of “”Chuck and Aska.”” I ordered a Combo Blue today. Savor the beauty of espresso combined with whipped cream. The cocoa powder on top adds a touch of aroma. The first sip of espresso is like the bitterness of youth. The tangy, sweet finish is captivating. Paired with pudding, it offers a rich Showa flavor. A visual, auditory, and gustatory journey through time. A beautiful and nostalgic memory! Preparing to return to the modern era and continue exploring Found a Taiwan Sugar Store in an alleyway What captivated us most in this small space was the corner freezer. Packed with shaved ice, a true Taiwanese classic. A secret summer escape. Crossing Hengyang Road, we strolled across the street. Upon arriving at Zhongshan Hall, we first saw the spacious plaza. Many tourists stop here to rest. Built in 1936, Zhongshan Hall is a classical and majestic building. In 2019, the Ministry of Culture designated it a national monument. Inside, there are exhibition rooms, the Taipei Academy, an arts salon, and other spaces. It has become a multi-functional venue in Taipei City that combines education, arts, and leisure. There’s also a hidden historical café on the fourth floor. The Zhongshan Hall is imbued with a sense of history and retro humanism. The theater cafe is full. Unlimited hours, air conditioning, sofas, and charging sockets—all available here! Put the list in your pocket first. Skateboarders gathered in the square this afternoon. A collision of trend and retro is unfolding. The autumn afternoon sun is still scorching. I want to cool down with the AC and a cup of coffee. Discovered another popular coffee shop Ran Ran Life uses local Taiwanese ingredients The decor is simple and unpretentious A leisurely and slow-paced atmosphere If you like their blended coffee beans, you can buy them back home. I ordered 1+1 to get both the fruity espresso and the small milk coffee. The aroma of the espresso bursts through my mouth. The balance of acidity and bitterness is delicious. It’s even more amazing paired with milk. An interesting small plate combination: meatballs and multigrain bread. Meatballs with onion sauce taste like lion’s head. Solid multigrain bread with a creamy spread. Enjoying a wonderful afternoon snack. Stuffing meatballs into bread for a filling meal. This is a great place to rest during your trip! There’s a retro coffee shop in a nearby alley. Borscht recommended by “”500 Bowls”” You can see it’s packed from the door. Coffee, toast, light meals—you can order it all here! I checked inside and found it was fully booked. Put the list in my pocket first. Discovered a hidden alleyway next to Shang Shang Coffee. There are several hidden gems. The packed house caught our attention. Luckily, I got a table right away. Fried rice, fried noodles, dumplings—you can order them all here! Single-flavor chive dumplings are served. Soy sauce, white vinegar, and sesame oil are ready. The dumplings’ best friend, hot and sour soup, is here too.

A perfect combination. Cheese-chewy skin and hearty filling. The aroma of fresh chives blends with the aroma of meat. The dipping sauce creates a beautiful fusion of salty and savory flavors. The hot and sour soup is generous with its ingredients. S kept glancing around throughout his meal. It turns out he was looking forward to the Shandong roast chicken. This is a cold-mixed northern dish. Minced garlic, cilantro, and cucumbers paired with a sour, salty, and spicy sauce. Tender chicken with a slightly charred crust. The cucumber makes it even more refreshing and less greasy. A bite of dumplings and a bite of roast chicken—so satisfying! I’m so glad I encountered Shandong Chicken. Amazingly delicious! I also want to try Zhang Ji, which is across from Su Ji. Pot stickers fried to order I was captivated by the relaxing scene before me and lost myself for a moment. S had already quietly sat down and ordered his meal. Zhang Ji Pot Stickers has branches in Tokyo and Osaka, Japan. This restaurant was opened by a Japanese who came to Taiwan to learn the craft and returned home. The thin outer layer of the pot stickers is soft and chewy. The bottom layer is golden and crispy. The chive filling is sweet and fragrant without being greasy. The dipping sauce makes it even more delicious. A rare beef broth with lion’s head meat Round and firm lion’s head meat A beef broth full of sauerkraut flavor Paired with juicy lion’s head meat A satisfying meaty texture Su Ji and Zhang Ji are excellent restaurants that will make you want to return again and again. I’ve already lost myself in a hidden alleyway filled with delicious food. I’m so glad I had a wonderful time here. There’s still so much local food to discover in Taipei’s Taoyuan Street area.
