Weekly Cooking Vlog💕Korean Gan-Jjajang Noodles, Mapo Tofu, Homemade Dumplings, Sweet Potato Salad
Hi! Sorry it’s been a while But I’m back with my weekly cooking vlogs again now Hope you enjoy the video! Cutting up half an onion, 2 spring onion stalks and 1 potato for todays dinner I’m making Gan Jjajang with some stock cubes I got when I was in Korea I love buying things like these when I’m travelling abroad I’m also chopping up some cucumbers which we will add as a garnish to the end I prefer to cut all my veggies before I start cutting up meat and other raw food Look at this gorgeous pork meat I got from my mom ❤️
Perfect with noodles or rice Cutting them into small cubes Found this at Lotte Mart ❤️ Cooking up the meat first and then adding in the onions Adding in 3 of these stock cubes along with some water. I don’t measure I just eyeball everything hehe Breaking up the cubes while the water is boiling Added some more water since it got a bit too thick When the sauce is almost done I’ll cook the noodles I don’t have a wide enough pot so I have to work hard to push the noodles down but hey, it works! Was very hungry so I did not wait for all the water to drain, so I have a huge mess on the kitchen counter –.– Adding in the sauce and cleaning up the dish a bit and to top it off, I’ll add in the cucumbers ❤️ I think I was very brave eating this with a white t-shirt on My poor Mofusands got black bean sauce all over them haha Cutting up half an onion again for todays dish. If you have some garlic, chop up 3-4 cloves as well. I had none left 🙁 Can anyone guess what I’m making? It involves tofu and minced meat So it can’t be anything other than my version of Mapo Tofu ❤️ Cutting up the tofu into small bite sized pieces Adding some oil and the onion to a pan. And accidently dropping the oil cork in Once the onion is transcluecent add in the minced pork The seasoning is just 1T gochugaru, 1T beef stock powder, 1T gochujang, 1T soy sauce and 1T oyster sauce Original mapo tofu is made with black bean sauce But I prefer this korean fusion version, since it is easier to make ❤️ Once the meat is cooked with the sauce, add in your tofu and some water and let it boil for 5 minutes. Topped it off with some ramson, but use green onion if you have that To add more greens I’m just chopping up some left over cucumber Now let’s plate it up! I have held off from buying a new rice cooker since it takes up so much space in the kitchen. But I will buy one soon! Any recommendation for a small rice cooker that can also make congee and other stuff is appreciated ❤️ Preparing some carrots for my dumplings The most boring job with cooking is chopping up vegetables real small That’s why this hand processor from Daiso is my life saver❤️ To a bowl I’ll add some minced pork and my finely chopped carrots I also like adding water chestnut to my dumplings since they add a nice crunch Chopping them in the food processor Since I got a lot of ramson leaves from my mother I’m trying to use them up 😛 I’ll keep my dumplings easy and just add oyster sauce (4.5T) and soy sauce (2T) And I look to wrap them in gyoza skin The second most boring thing when it comes to making dumplings is wrapping them Especially when you’re doing it by yourself I like to make a lot of these and freeze them down, so I’ll always have some on hand when I need them I’m pinching them on both sides since so they are uneven, but I am to lazy to use time to do it properly But they still look nice and it goes way faster hehe Omg finally done!! Cooking up a few dumplings in the pan with some oil and of course making some ramen on the side ❤️ I had some left over meat filling left, so I just added them to the ramen to add more flavor Once the dumplings are done steaming I take of the lid and cook them on low heat so they get crispy again Chopping up some iceberg lettuce to add into my ramen ❤️ I don’t know if it’s normal but I like soggy salad in my ramen and noodle soups haha Dipping sauce is just 1 part maggi sauce and 1 part white vinegar Can’t believe I’m eating hot soup and dumplings on a hot summer day I guess I truly am asian 😛 Somehow eating hot food cools the body down from the inside. IDK i’m just making stuff up now And today my Norwegian upbringing is kicking in I’m making a taco salad with sweet potato today Because it was ubearably hot today But when making salad – you have to chop up a looot of veggies –.– Look at these giant sweet potatoes I bought Had to cut them in half to be able to peel them haha Chopping the sweet potato into small pieces and mixing in a bowl with some oil and pasta seasoning Spread it out on a baking tray and season with salt Cook them in the oven until they are tender, about 20-25 minutes Only thing left is to cook our minced meat with some taco seasoning ❤️ I wanted a nice refreshing meal but the apartment got hot since I cooked the potatoes in the oven Oh well, but I was worth it Just look at this ❤️ A nice colorful filling salad Topping it off with some shredded cheese, avocado, sour cream and salsa i’ll enjoy my meal in the burning hot apartment ❤️ Came back from pilates and needed to make some lunch Had a bit of rice that needed to be used up. So I will make a tuna rice roll And of course Stella recognized this sound now ❤️ Adding some to her dry food❤️ My little Shayla ❤️
and some cat ASMR for you guys hehe Okay, back to making the human food The tuna mix is just tuna, ramson and mayo needed to use up the celery in the fridge so I’m cutting it up into stalks and while we’re at it, might as well add some watermelon I like prepping them beforehand so it’s easier to grab them as a healthy snack throughout the day Dividing the seaweed laver in half and preparing for the rice roll I was running low on short grain rice so I had to mix with jasmine rice Don’t do that xD the rice got everywhere and did not stick as well if you just have long grain rice, make a rice bowl. This somehow held on just enough but yeah, If I did not have any short grain rice this would probably just have broken down Thanks for watching!
