Shrimp Avocado Salad Recipe 海老アボカドサラダ 作り方 レシピ

Hi, I’m Francis, the host of this show “Cooking with Dog.” First, let’s make the dressing. Combine the lemon juice, soy sauce, salt, wasabi, and black pepper. Stir to dissolve well. Then, gradually pour in the olive oil and thoroughly mix the wasabi soy-based dressing. Cut the avocado in half lengthwise and make 4 cuts in the flesh. Then, slice across the initial cuts. Spoon the avocado into the bowl. Peel the firm skin of the cucumber. Then, cut into 1.5cm pieces. Cut the camembert cheese into bite-size pieces. Place the camembert in the freezer until firm but not frozen so that you can easily separate the cheese. Peel the boiled shrimps. And remove the tails. Cut each shrimp in half. Place all the ingredients in a bowl and gently toss to coat with the dressing. Then, spoon the avocado salad into a bowl. Finally, sprinkle on the walnuts. Avocados are rich in vitamins and minerals and walnut oil and olive oil are known to be some of the healthiest oils. Using sashimi-grade fresh salmon slices instead of the boiled shrimps also brings out the flavor of this salad. Good luck in the kitchen!

    1. Hm… now I'm a bit confused. Japanese kitchen is usually so perfectionist. This show alone takes so much time and preparation to take out everything that could even be slightly nasty. And now, I see shrimps being used with the intestines not getting removed. That is something a lot of cooking shows, restaurants and chefs don't do, I am aware of that. But I personaly find the idea of eating the half to almost completely digested content of other creatures disgusting.

    2. Chef, would you recommend crumbled bleu cheese instead of Camembert, or would it be too tart for the salad?

    3. I have tried this recipe the day I wanted this video. I like it a lot. For some further input, I would suggest take it easy on the dose of avocado, because avocado can be greasy for someone.  I think less avocado and more cucumber would provide a fresher taste. Good luck in the Kitchen!

    4. Does anyone know the name of that little jingle she always uses at the end of her videos when she shows the finished dish? In this one, it starts about at 2:38

    5. I cooked this one for dinner today, and my entire family loved it! You are right, the wasabi gives a magic touch to it. And I didn´t have camembert cheese  but I added Philadelphia cream cheese and tasted incredible. Thanks for your delicious recipes.

    6. I didn't think much cheese was eaten in Japan.  Also, I would love to see chef make some Japanese-style pickles, especially if they are naturally fermented.

    7. hi chef, this is a great recipe! i'll definitely try it soon!
emm i have a question. can i substitute the wasabi? maybe with chili powder or other spicy flavors?

    8. I can't stand cheese, especially such big pieces! Can a substitute the cheese fr something else? The dressing also looks good!

    9. I definitely want to give this a try as avocado & shrimp are some of my favorite foods. I've never had some of the ingredients (wasabi, camembert) so i'm looking forward to the magic of trying something new! 🙂 Thank you for sharing your recipe, Chef! <3
