TVP + マクドゥーガルスープ = HCLF MP ビーガンミール
All right, then guys. It is Tuesday, July 29th, 2025. I’m getting back into eating high carb, lowfat. However, this time I’m going to eat high carb, lowfat with moderate protein. So, an example of one of my favorite high carb, lowfat foods is Dr. McDougall soup. I like the um split pea and the black bean. The split pea is my favorite though when it comes to McDougall soup. So I thought, hey, if I’m going to eat a McDougall type of starchbased diet and add protein to it, one meal could be taking a McDougall soup and maybe adding some TVP to it. So TVP is textured vegetable protein. It’s defatted soy protein. So, it’s lowfat. It’s virtually fat- free. Basically, pure soy protein. And um you can see right there, 1/4 cup is 45 calories, zero gram of fat. There’s 5 g of carbs, two fiber. So, there’s only two net carbs, and 8 g of protein. So, that’s good. Zero fat, eight grams of protein, and 1/4 cup. All righty then. That’s some pretty lean protein right there. So, kind of doing like a uh lean protein or vegan protein and starchbased diet. I also, you know, want to stay true to my raw food roots and include plenty of raw food as well. But um in this video I thought I would experiment with adding TVP to McDougall soup because McDougall soup is dehydrated. You have to add hot water to it to rehydrate it. Same thing with TVP. You have to add water to rehydrate it. So I was like maybe I could add some TVP in the McDougall soup and add hot water and see what happens. So, all right. I have some hot water right here. Just going to go ahead and open the McDougall soup. And I’m going to go ahead and go with the split pea because that’s my favorite. The black bean is a close second. And there’s plenty of other soups, too. So, this is the flavor packet. Just open it. And then, so that’s what it looks like before you rehydrate it. And just adding the flavor packet to it. Now, this is when I would normally just put hot water in it, but I want to add some protein to it. So, I think I’m just going to do maybe two tablespoons just to start out with that. So there’s one tspoon of TBP texture vegetable protein aka defatted soy protein and two. All right. So, I think what I’m going to do is just uh stir it up just that way the TVP isn’t just just sitting on the top. I just want to get it all like evenly distributed in there. Okay. You basically just fill it mostly all the way up. I’m going to add just a little bit more water since I’m rehydrating the TVP as well. So, see, I don’t know how well I can get a shot of this, but this is basically boiling water. It’s off the boil. Okay, so I got the water in there. Now, I’m going to give it another stir. This is my first time doing this. Adding TVP to McDougall soup. Hopefully, I didn’t add too much water. The TVP should soak some of it up. So, what I do is I you’re supposed to put the lid on or not the lid, but the top. Put the top on. And I always put like a spoon on top to keep it to keep the top down. I just have it sitting like this on the table. All right. So, now I’m just going to let it rehydrate and I’ll check on it in a few minutes. Okay. Okay, it’s about 15 minutes later and going to go ahead and see what I got. So, just take the top off and it’s kind of hard to see what it looks like, but give it a stir. See, it thickened up. We’ll get a closeup of that. Yeah, I think it worked. I think that was a success. Looks like split pea soup with pieces of TVP floating in it. Actually, I think I’m going to use this clear cup. So, just going to pour it in here since it’s a similar size. And there you have it. McDougall split pea soup with TVP added. It’s a high carb, lowfat, moderate protein vegan meal. Go ahead and taste it here. All right, that is good. So yeah, I like it. Has a really nice flavor. A split pea soup flavor. There’s like kind of a I don’t know if it’s like a smoky flavor, but like there’s there’s a flavor in there that’s really good. Split peas, onion, natural flavors, yeast, estra, garlic, sea salt, parsley, spices, lemon peel, citric acid. So in this there is 250 calories in the whole thing, one gram of fat in the whole thing, 530 milligram sodium. Total carbs 44. Dietary fiber is 16. So 44 – 16 is the net carbs and 16 g of protein. So there’s 1 gram of fat in this. There’s no fat in this. 16 g of protein in this. And this is 8 g for 1/4 cup. I’m not sure how much two tablespoons would be, but I don’t know. Maybe it’s probably at least half of that. So, probably four grams. So, yeah, it’s basically 20 grams of protein. So, all right. High carb, low fat, high carb, lowfat, vegan. Or I guess maybe high carb, lowfat, moderate protein, vegan. I don’t know. All right, I’m going to go ahead and uh finish this. It’s my lunchtime, so this is my lunch for today. Thanks for watching.
