#35 🌿 The Art of Simple Living: One Day, Many Gentle Joys

🌿 The Art of Simple Living 🌱 One Day, Many Gentle Joys One summer day. Blueberries, soft hands, and barefoot waves. Just one day — But many, many gentle joys. Chapter 1 : A Summer of Childhood Memories A little adventure under the trees — Blueberries and beetles. Those fresh, sweet berries of the early morning, And the happy smiles that followed, Reminded me of my own wild childhood summers. What made your childhood unforgettable? I still remember the summer heat, the sweat on my skin, and laughter drifting in the wind. And now, walking beside my son, I get to live it all over again— childhood, but through a different, more wondrous lens. Mochi: “They’re eating the berries!🫐 Kabutomushi! 🪲” He watched it with delight, full of wonder. We picked, we tasted, and saved some for later… To turn into sweet little treats. And when we were done, We gently released the beetles back into the wild. Mochi: “Bye-bye, kabutomushi! I love you! Bye-bye!” 😘 Chapter 2: Slowing Down in Yukata A morning shower brings refreshment. And changing into yukata feels like a gentle beginning. Today I chose one with asagao flowers The background is a soft, vibrant lotus pink. I paired it with a muted moss-green obi — Simple, but it feels just right for a summer day like this. Chapter 3: The Sweet Flavors of Summer I decided to make a little blueberry jam — Marinate them with sugar and a squeeze of lemon juice. Then simmer for 20 to 30 minutes. I let the lids rest gently on the jars, then boil them in bubbling water for 5 minutes — enough to keep them safe, and sweet for longer days. On a hot day like this, A scoop of cold blueberry ice cream feels like a little gift. 50g heavy cream: 2 egg yolks: 150ml milk: 30g sugar: 50g blueberry jam After chilling for 2–3 hours, I swirl in an extra 100g of jam — To create a ripple of purple throughout the cream. Blueberry Ice Cream And then, one more treat: Blueberry Cream Cheese Daifuku. Soft, chewy mochi filled with rich cream cheese And sweet-tart blueberry jam. Blueberry Cream Cheese Daifuku A perfect bite of summer. Chapter 4: The Joy of Homegrown Life Our little garden is humble, but abundant. Mochi picks the ripest tomato each time he passes by. That’s why no bunch ever stays whole until they’re all red.😆 Still, the taste of fruit right off the vine Is unbeatable. Today, I’m gathering a few vegetables to make a full summer lunch All from our own harvest. A bowl of summer miso soup — with jute leaves, okra, and Malabar spinach. Tomato Basil Salad Just a handful of cherry tomatoes, Basil, olive oil, salt, pepper, and a squeeze of lemon. The freshness sings in your mouth. I had some canned tuna, So I tossed it in as well, Then chilled it in the fridge — ready to serve cold. Miso-Glazed Ground Meat Sauté ground meat with garlic, ginger, and a touch of chili paste. Then stir in the magic miso sauce. Miso Sauce (for 100g ground meat):1 tbsp miso2 tbsp sake1 tbsp sugar1/2 tsp soy sauce It’s the kind of dish that makes you lose count of rice bowls. Golden-fried eggplant, Topped with miso meat, wrapped in shiso leaves. Savory, fragrant, and utterly addictive. Eggplant with Miso Meat & Shiso Summer Vegetable Miso Soup I bring the dashi to a boil, then add sticky vegetables Once it comes back to a boil, I dissolve in the miso and it’s ready — light, smooth, and perfect for hot days. For the last dish, I made Goya Champuru — a classic Okinawan stir-fry with bitter melon, tofu, pork belly, and egg. A simple dish, but one of my absolute favorites. Seasoned simply with salt, pepper, and a pinch of chicken stock powder. And just like that — Lunch is ready. A meal made by hand, From seeds we planted and tended. Happiness grown from the ground. Chapter 5: Together, Beneath the Sunset The waves touched our feet, like a quiet lullaby. We let nature hold us — In light, in sound, in breath. And in these soft moments, We feel what it means to truly be alive. The day ends. But its gentle joys stay, quietly glowing within us.

  5. Так хорошо. Лето. Нежность. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
