A morning convenience store run for a change. 🐾 Starting with the chilly frozen section. 👀 Crème brûlée (The taste was just so-so) Salted Red Bean Croissant Mochi Ring Donut Aloe Yogurt Green Smoothie A green smoothie with kale, broccoli, pineapple, and carrot purée. Making my life-saving potion. Let’s power through the day with this drink! Ending the day with grocery shopping. 🐾 Plums Soldam Plums The skin is tart, but the inside is sweet. Carrots Onions Okra Chives Celery Garlic Cucumbers Tofu Eggs Eggplant Lakanto A sugar substitute that tastes just like sugar. Flour Prowling like a hungry hyena. Matcha latte with lots of milk. It’s creamy and sweet because of all the milk. Iced coffee Mini raisin morning bread. Matcha pods Coll-on Lemon flavor Cook D’asse Matcha Chocolate Lunch Pie Beef Curry flavor Cheese Almonds A snack with cheese and almonds on a crispy thin cracker. Somehow I ended up with a matcha field. 💚 Good morning It’s so hot, I can only stand the balcony for 10 seconds… A package that brings excitement from the morning. A disaster preparedness catalog gift from my local district. (You can choose from 80 disaster relief items and they’ll send it to you) I ordered this a month or two ago, so my memory is hazy. I don’t remember, but I’m 100% sure it’s food. 😆 I ordered two items in total, and one of them is soup. “Vegetable Soup for Your Body” (Chickpea Curry) An instant product that can be easily eaten by heating it in the microwave or boiling water. “Vegetable Soup for Your Body” (Minestrone) “Vegetable Soup for Your Body” (Japanese-style Soup) The next item I ordered is… OS-1 Powder It’s an electrolyte drink powder for oral rehydration. 1 packet 15g (Dilute in 500ml of water) It has a higher concentration of sodium and glucose than regular sports drinks, so it’s absorbed quickly by the body. The package is gone, and cute Siru appears! 😆 Frozen Siru 💕 I’m going to make kabocha squash soup, which is easy on the stomach and good for the morning. Sprinkle with baking soda and wash it until it’s squeaky clean. Oops… First, I need to prep the onions, which taste better when sautéed for a long time. The kabocha squash itself is sweet, but… sautéed onions add a smooth and subtle sweetness. Thinly slice the onion. Add olive oil and butter, then the onion. Adding half an onion more… one whole onion in total. While the onions are sautéing, I’ll prep the kabocha squash. Cut the kabocha squash in half. Remove the seeds. And peel the skin. Cut the peeled kabocha into small pieces. The smaller the pieces, the faster they cook. Chop, chop into bite-sized pieces. The onions have become sweet. Add the kabocha squash. Add water and simmer until the kabocha is fully cooked. The kabocha is fully cooked. Heavy cream for nuttiness and flavor. A pinch of salt and sugar to your liking. Kabocha squash soup is ready! My favorite combination: oatmeal and kabocha squash soup. To the sweet and creamy taste of the kabocha, the nutty and savory flavor of oatmeal is added. It’s a smooth and hearty soup for a meal. Finish with a sprinkle of parsley. I was so focused on the soup… (I forgot about the other dish) You know mocha bread, right? I miss its crispy outside, soft inside, and sweet and bitter taste. I’ll try making a simple version with morning bread. Using coffee pods instead of instant coffee. Butter + sugar + egg + instant coffee + flour (all at room temperature) Mix the batter well. I think I added too much coffee, the batter is a bit runny… Adding more flour and mixing again (I think I messed up). Let me refuel first. Slurping kabocha soup while watching the Japanese version of “Marry My Husband”. The fluffy texture of the oatmeal. A taste that’s easy on the stomach and warms the heart. Thanks to the oatmeal, one bowl is very filling. That was a delicious meal. After letting it sit for a while, the batter seems to have thickened a bit. Can’t guarantee the taste, but I can’t stop now. Cute, round mini morning bread. Spread the batter on top of the morning bread. The smell of coffee is wafting through the air. Tada! Place it in the preheated air fryer. And bake at 180°C (350°F) for about 10 minutes. While waiting… Soldam, a variety of plum. Green on the outside, red on the inside, a surprising visual twist. The skin has a sharp tartness… but the inside is an explosion of sweetness. The taste of summer filling my mouth. Mocha bread is done! ………. Rescuing the mocha bread. Let me introduce you to… Freshly baked mocha bread that has been through hell. You thought only the looks were a disaster? I wish I could write that the taste is surprisingly good, but… the taste is even more disastrous (I added too much flour). Eating it not because it’s delicious, but because it needs to disappear. Destroying the evidence (If I eat it, it never happened). What kind of food do you usually eat in the hot summer? When it’s hot, simple and cool things are the best, so… I’m going to make some summer side dishes. Starting with Tsukemono (pickled side dishes). Pickled eggplant is a great summer side dish to eat cold when you have no appetite. Slice the eggplant into appropriate thicknesses. Asazuke no Moto (quick pickle sauce) Made with kombu and shiitake mushroom extract from Hokkaido for an enhanced savory taste. You can make it with various vegetables like cucumber, cabbage, okra, and tomato. It comes with 3 single-serving packets of sauce. Put the eggplant in a bag. Pour in the pickling sauce. Mix it lightly and let it marinate in the fridge for 30 minutes, and it’s done. Next, cucumbers. Cut them into appropriate thicknesses. Add the pickling sauce. See you in 30 minutes. This time, I’m making my husband’s favorite Oi-sobagi (stuffed cucumber kimchi). Full of moisture, crunchy, and spicy and sour, it’s a side dish that can’t be bad. I’ll just cut the cucumbers for a simpler version. Coarse salt + hot water Pickle for about 25 minutes. 5 tbsp red pepper powder, 2 tbsp sugar, 1 tbsp minced garlic, 4 tbsp fish sauce If you mix the seasoning in advance, the red pepper powder will soak and become more moist and smooth. Chives + onion + carrot Since I have some time left, I’ll quickly make some pickled celery. Because of its refreshing and crunchy taste, pickled celery… goes well with greasy or rich food. Especially a perfect match with grilled meat. Cut into appropriate thicknesses. Cut the stalks too. Cut and add the leaves as well. 1/2 cup sugar, 2 cups water, 1 cup vinegar, 1 cup soy sauce Peperoncino Bring it to a boil. Pour the sauce while it’s hot, and the pickled celery is done! Let it age for about a day, and you can eat sweet, sour, and fragrant pickles. After 25 minutes, drain the water. Cooking is also labor… I’m getting hungry. Quickly preparing pasta. After contemplating the amount of seafood, I used the whole bag. Soaking it in water for a quick defrost. Prepping onions and garlic. Garlic, which enhances the taste and aroma of pasta, is a must. Today’s pasta star: avocado. Remove the avocado pit. Avocado + soy milk It feels more watery than I thought… I feel like I’ve seen this scene somewhere before… scratch Adding one more avocado. After adding another avocado, a creamy sauce is complete! Sautéing garlic and onion. After sautéing the seafood… Add the avocado sauce. While the pasta is cooking, I’ll quickly finish the oi-sobagi. Mix it well to let the seasoning soak in. The visuals are making my mouth water, so I’ll take a bite right away. This is the taste! I only meant to have one bite, but I’ve already lost count. Off to the fridge before it disappears. Pickled eggplant and cucumber to go with the pasta. Adding whole wheat pasta. A sprinkle of Parmesan cheese. Creamy avocado cream pasta is ready! (The sniffing sound is not me) Yum, a healthy and savory pasta. Crunchy yet soft pickled eggplant. A savory and cool summer taste. Take a bite of pasta, and a bite of pickled cucumber! It’s simple, savory, and delicious. That was a delicious meal. For dinner, I’ll have the oi-sobagi and pickled vegetables I made. Grilled Atka mackerel and spicy stir-fried eggplant. 👧 Siru, are you waiting for Dad? 👧 Mom is waiting for Dad too. Siru magically knows when Dad is coming home. So serious all by herself. 😂 Waiting eagerly in his designated spot. He waits like this and runs to the door as soon as he hears footsteps. 🥺 Siru has been sleeping a lot more lately… I shouldn’t bother him when he’s sleeping, but… he’s just too cute… 😍😍 Napping under the cool air conditioner is the best. The heat wave is continuing these days. Be careful not to get heatstroke, and stay cool. Thank you for watching today’s video! ❣️ See you in the next video! ❣️
