Korean Stir Fried Potato – How to Cook Kamja Bokkeum (ジャガイモ炒めおかず料理する外国人)
from Korea welcome to next match today we’re cooking kamja bum [Music] kamja kamja are these potatoes in Korean kamja is potato and bulkum is like stir fry or frying something up in a pan so kamja bulkum stir fried potatoes in this case we slice them up thin we get some of these we add that to it some onion and you make a delicious side dish that uses fried blanched potatoes so easy anyone can do it and if you’re interested in Korean side dishes it’s a great one to start with let’s begin is this too many potatoes maybe you could probably use one or two fewer potatoes that I’m going to use that being said it still works out perfectly this is an easily adjustable dish now I’m using this grater i’m cooking this for my wife she loves this dish and she wanted me to use the grater she likes the very thin way it does it but it’s so much harder i think cutting is way easier luckily I found a way of doing this using this fork and I got all those potatoes peeled and uh grated up ah it was hard work i’m not going to lie for this make sure we’re adding onion half an onion will do you could probably add a little bit more if you want but make sure you’ve got some kind of onion because it will add so much flavor separate these chives the whites and the greens we’re going to fry the white part up first and the greens are going to go in at the end for the ham I’ve got 150 gram is this too much ham as well i don’t really know this is for my wife and she loves ham so I’m going to put in about this much and it seems like a lot of ham but it might be not enough if you’re a real ham lover so just add more if you like it and if you don’t like ham add less the trick with the potatoes for this is to blanch them first if you blanch them it just means you’re not going to get crunchy potatoes later they’re going to cook properly so 2 minutes should be enough drain them and set them aside any longer they’re going to get mushy grow in our onions and our chives with a bit of oil and give it a nice mix in addition when it is nice and translucent then we can put our potatoes in and turn up the heat we want to fry these potatoes so get it going season with a bit of salt and oyster sauce that’ll get the best flavor to these potatoes and you can always add a little bit more just taste it later on get it frying first and then taste and add some more of both of those later on in the dish if you need it for this dish the trick is to cook it as much as you like it’s very hard to undercook this if you’ve blanched it but it’s also very easy to overcook it end up with mushy potatoes so keep an eye on it best way to do that is to turn up the heat if you want to really get a good fry on and that’ll help crisp everything up as well as crisping up the ham and releasing some of the ham sort of fat that will mix with the potatoes and make it really nice my wife prefers it to be a little not undercooked but less cooked so no sort of crispy or burnt edges at the end you can throw in those ingredients you’ve seen on the screen and give it a good mix this is a good time to taste it and make sure that everything is good it’s not too salty and then give it a nice mix and remember the ham is quite salty so you don’t need to add a lot of salt some of that flavor from the ham should come out and go into the dish and mix with the potatoes how did it taste well my wife loved it this was exactly what she wants one of her favorite dishes that she likes for me to cook for her so it’s two thumbs up for her in addition I’m going to taste it i’m not a big fan of ham but I liked it maybe it’s because I cooked it even though I don’t prefer this dish when you cook it yourself it’s just so much better all right hope you enjoyed the video i’m going to quietly eat this cuz my wife’s asleep see you

Hello!
In Korea, many dishes are made using potatoes that are harvested in June each year.
Among them, the stir-fried potato dish you're featuring now is a real delicacy.
I personally enjoy it very much as well.
Today is Thursday, and I hope the rest of your week is filled with good health and wonderful things. ^^
