Today, I’ll share a recipe for cashew creme fraiche which you can use as plant-based yogurt as well as for cooking and baking along with recipe ideas for cashew creme fraiche Creme fraiche is cream fermented by lactic acid bacteria It’s like sour cream but it’s creamier, richer and less sour so you can eat it like yogurt and also use it for cooking and baking Today, I’ll show you how to make creme fraiche with cashew nuts and share recipe ideas for cashew creme fraiche It’s super easy to make cashew creme fraiche Combine 1 cup raw cashew nuts soaked overnight with 1.5 cup water and blend until smooth and creamy Transfer to a pot and heat on low medium heat Keep stirring

and heat until it thickens and gets creamy Stop the heat and leave it until it cools down then add starter bacteria Easiest way to do this is adding about 1 Tbsp of store bought soy yogurt In a clean, sterilized container combine the cream with starter and mix well Leave it in room temperature until it gets slightly sour You could also add add probiotics Just take the powder out from a capsule Or you can use other kinds of store-bought plant-based yogurt starter If you make sauerkraut at home you can also add 1 Tbps of juice from sauerkraut Depending on the starter you use and room temperature it could take from 24 hours to more than 48 hours for fermentation Check the flavor often and once it achieve your desired taste, transfer to the fridge Once finished, it’s like a real thick and rich yogurt I highly recommend it to people with soy allergy who can’t eat soy yogurt and who want to try making plant-based yogurt at home Match it with fruits and granola it’s delicious! You can add it in a smoothie and make a creamy, fermented drink For cooking, you can combine it with vinegar salt, spices or herbs to falvor it to make salad dressing It comes very handy if you have it the fridge You can also mix it with canned tomatoes to make creamy tomato sauce Rich and flavorful pasta sauce!
