How was your week? My eldest son went to high school and my routine changed completely and I was not busy every day, but things have finally settled down. In high school, I have a bento box every day, so I bought a tray for 100 yen that allows me to freeze pre-prepared side dishes in small portions to make my mornings a little easier . You can freeze side dishes in cups, so just thaw and pack in the morning! I’m thankful that I can use the things I usually make ahead of time as side dishes for bento boxes ♪ That’s why today I’m going to prepare this week’s ready-to-make dishes and side dishes for bento boxes! Change into room wear that is easy to move in and get excited! The first dish is “Stir-fried Broccoli and Wiener Ajillo Style.” This time I will also use it as a side dish for lunch boxes, so I would be happy if you could make it with me , as it is quick and easy to make , is colorful, and is a recipe that kids will love ! Cut the broccoli into bite-sized pieces. Place in a heat-resistant container, add a little water, cover with plastic wrap, and heat at 600W for 2 minutes. Please adjust the heating time depending on the amount of broccoli. In the meantime, cut the sausage. Fry the sausages in a frying pan heated over medium heat. When the sausage is cooked, move it to the edge and add 2 tablespoons of olive oil. Add an appropriate amount of grated garlic (a tube is OK). When the olive oil starts to simmer, add the broccoli. Add salt and pepper, stir-fry and it’s done! Although it’s super simple, it’s also perfect as a lunch box side dish because the kids will eat it well ♪ The second dish is “Chikuwa and green pepper stir-fried with salted kelp.” This recipe uses sesame oil as the only seasoning, so it’s super easy! Peel the bell pepper and cut into thin pieces. Cut the chikuwa diagonally. Add 1 tablespoon of sesame oil to a hot frying pan and fry the peppers. When the peppers are cooked, add the chikuwa and stir-fry briefly. Introducing salted konbu, the key to the taste! I always use eye measurements, but I think 1 tbsp is fine ♪ A delicious recipe with just the flavor of salted konbu! Since it’s so easy, it’s also recommended when you want something after dinner. The third dish is “Carrot and Tuna Curry Stir-Fry”, a classic recipe that my curry-loving daughter loves! When shredding carrots, use a slicer to make them evenly thin and look nice. This time, I will use it in the next recipe, so I will leave about 1/3 of it aside. Lightly fry in a frying pan with olive oil. Add the drained canned tuna and stir-fry again. Add 2 teaspoons of mirin and 1 teaspoon of soy sauce and stir. Add 2 teaspoons of mirin and 1 teaspoon of soy sauce and stir. My family uses sweet curry powder. The aroma of curry will whet your appetite♪ It’s so delicious that you can’t stop tasting it, so be sure to try making it! The fourth item is “hijiki simmered.” This time, I’ll show you how to easily make it in the microwave! In a heat-resistant bowl, add your favorite ingredients such as hijiki, carrots cut into strips, chikuwa, etc., cut into bite-sized pieces. It would also be delicious if you added fried tofu instead of chikuwa! Add 3 tablespoons of sake, 2 tablespoons of mirin, 1 tablespoon of soy sauce, 2 tablespoons of white dashi, and water to cover the ingredients, then mix together. This time I will also use it as a side dish for a bento box, so it will be seasoned well. If you like a lighter flavor, please change the white dashi to 1 tablespoon. Cover with plastic wrap and heat in the microwave at 600W for 5 minutes. Please adjust the heating time depending on the amount of ingredients. Once heated, take it out and mix it with a spatula. This looks delicious enough, but since I’m also going to use it as a side dish for a lunch box, I’m going to add some peeled edamame to give it some color. Add a suitable amount of frozen peeled edamame, cover with plastic wrap and heat at 600W for another 2 minutes. After all, adding green to the ingredients makes them look more delicious. Even though it’s made with only lentils, it’s full of flavor and really delicious! There’s not much to wash, so you can make a quick meal even on a busy day. You can make a very simple dish using the leftover peeled edamame used in hijiki stew! The fifth item is “shelled edamame with rice.” Add 2 tablespoons of white dashi stock and 1 tablespoon of soy sauce to the peeled edamame in a heat-resistant container, and mix gently. Cover with plastic wrap and heat in the microwave at 600W for 2 minutes. I used to avoid eating edamame with pods in my lunch box because it would get my hands dirty, but now my eldest son is happy because he can eat edamame without getting his hands dirty. Gently remove the liquid with kitchen paper, sprinkle with plenty of bonito flakes, and toss to enjoy! It’s delicious as a side dish, or even mixed into rice balls! It was ready in just 3 minutes. It ‘s a great dish for a late night snack or snack. The sixth item is “Marinated paprika” Did you know that paprika is actually richer in vitamin C than green peppers? In the upcoming season when we are concerned about UV rays, we want to eat paprika full of vitamin C and aim to stay delicious and beautiful! Cut the paprika into bite-sized pieces, place in a heat-resistant container, cover with plastic wrap, and heat at 600W for 3 minutes. Remove moisture with kitchen paper. Add 2 tablespoons of vinegar, 1 tablespoon of olive oil, and 1 teaspoon of sugar and mix. Add a little salt, mix and serve! This colorful and nutritious paprika marinade will brighten up your dining table and lunch boxes, making it an indispensable dish. This time, I made six side dishes in advance. Having side dishes always stocked in the refrigerator can make you feel better. No matter how busy your day is, you don’t have to rely on side dishes or eating out, so you can save money and have peace of mind knowing your family’s nutritional balance is well-balanced. Making things like this in advance is a habit that I will continue to treasure. Set the film cup on the subdivision tray, fill it with side dishes for lunch boxes, and put it in the freezer. In the morning, you just thaw it in the microwave and pack it in your lunch box, which saves you time. I kind of like this process of adding each item one by one because it allows me to be completely absent-minded. Well, I’ll keep adding more! In the upcoming hot season , you can also pack it frozen instead of using an ice pack, which is great. Please make sure that the film cup is microwave safe. In your hectic daily life, just having a side dish in the fridge will give you peace of mind. Please try incorporating it. I hope everyone’s life becomes a little more comfortable.
