How to Make Black Bean Burgers

INGREDIENTS:
1 (15 ounce) can black beans, rinsed and drained
1/4 cup quinoa
1/2 cup water or vegetable stock
1/2 cup bread crumbs
1/4 cup small diced yellow bell pepper
2 tablespoons small diced onion
1 large clove garlic, minced
1 1/2 teaspoons ground cumin
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon hot pepper sauce (such as Frank’s RedHot®)
1 egg
3 tablespoons olive oil
DIRECTIONS:
1.Bring the quinoa and water to a boil in a saucepan. Reduce heat to medium-low, cover, and simmer until the quinoa is tender and the water has been absorbed, about 15 to 20 minutes.
2.Roughly mash the black beans with a fork leaving some whole black beans in a paste-like mixture.
3.Mix the quinoa, bread crumbs, bell pepper, onion, garlic, cumin, salt, hot pepper sauce, and egg into the black beans using your hands.
4.Form the black bean mixture into 5 patties.
5.Heat the olive oil in a large skillet.
6.Cook the patties in the hot oil until heated through, 2 to 3 minutes per side.

Why is everyone freaking out over the egg? Alot of vegetarians eat dairy products. Including me. Their is a difference in vegan and vegetarian.

Apparently there is confusion because some people don't know the difference between a vegan and a vegetarian 🤦🏽♀️ Vegetarians still eat eggs and cheese along with other dairy products and if they choose not to eat eggs but still eat dairy/animal products it still makes them a vegetarian. Vegans on the other hand don't eat any form of animal products whatsoever including milk, cheese, eggs,etc. If you choose not to eat eggs but still use butter or just animal products in general then you are a vegetarian not a vegan.
if eggs are not fertilized, they will not hatch, therefore, they will just rot, we are not killing chickens by eating unfertilized eggs.
I used this recipe for a friend's baby shower because most of her friends were vegetarian and they loved my burgers. I recommend 10/10

Another reason why tk ctack the wgg on another cup or bowl is because if the egg is bad your food would be TOTAL and you dont want that.

If you bake the black beans for 20 minutes they stay together just fine and actually takes less ingredients and are better

Potato masher, wider bottom bowl, grated onions, sear darkly with almost no oil, then bake in covered 9' skillet at 325F for 25 – 30 minutes
