When in Mysore, head to Tegu Mess for local-style non-vegetarian fare! This hole-in-the-wall eatery began as an establishment to cater to the needs of students in the area nearly 50 years ago!

Known especially for its wholesome, hearty, meat dishes, each item on offer has its own unique masala ground in-house by the family. Open through the day for breakfast, lunch and dinner, the fare here is sure to remind one of home.

Food Lovers’ Editor, Kripal Amanna visits this humble eatery and meets second generation owner, Mr. Tegoji Rao and his son Shyam. He takes a look at the open kitchen, right next to the dining area and samples the Idlis with Gravy which is offered during breakfast hours. He also tries a nourishing Paya soup, a flavourful Pepper Chicken, a gently spiced Mutton Curry and much more as part of his lunch meal.

    3. Tegu mess makes the best paya you can literally chew off the leg, I have not seen anyone make the paya so elegantly better than many big time non veg eataries of Bangalore.

    4. I was showing this video to my dad and asked him if he remembers this place and it was nostalgic for him and he started recollecting his good old college days and appreciated the full meals that was served in this mess by Mr Tegoji Rao’s mother 😊

    9. The terminology you use for your food items and variety of dishes is quite adorable. Kripal ji you are like the poet of the food vlogs video.
      Hearing you gets mesmerized everyone.

    10. very nice to hear the delicious food , but there is no space for seniour citizen who are unable to go upstatir need change for them who use to go during the begining they want to visit the mess

    11. This place falls short of expectations, exhibiting a lack of hygiene and inconsistent food quality. The spiciness of the dishes appears excessive and lacks flavor, leaving the taste bland. In contrast, many street vendors maintain a higher level of cleanliness and offer more palatable dining experiences. I strongly recommend going to any other place in Mysore, and you will have a better experience than Tegu mess. The service was good, but that cannot make up for the lack of cleanliness and food quality. Kripal what happened to your pallet and cleanliness standards?
